  6. ms_hart, What is it that you felt?? This Morning, I had a Mcdonalds sugar free vanilla iced coffee. Mother of God!! ... My stomach is still cramping up. I got the runs but, the stomach cramps are the WORST!! Ayyy... this is it.. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel... Okay maybe I shouldn't be so dramatic but, it Huuurrrrttss!!!... Also I'm thinking of changing my name to EXXON or SHELL.. How is it humanly possible that a person can have so much Gas.. Sorry Guys if it's too much information.. Okay yesterday at the bbq they had beans and I figured it would be okay if I had a little of the juice.. I thought "there high in iron, contain protein hey it's still liquid.." I don't know if it was that or the coffee. I only sipped half of a medium cup. I have also made me some at home. As for the beans.. I'm Mexican- I've had plenty of beans and not felt this before.. What do you guys think?
  7. Well, Welcome Aboard leigna, I think most of us felt the same way.. You'll be fine. I hope we can be here for help and support. 8. Hello bradybrat, You can get a ticker by going on tickerfactory.com.. There you can make your own. Make sure you remember your password as you will need it to update your progress. I forgot mine and had to create a whole new ticker... Okay once you create it. On the Upper, left hand corner of this page you will see UserCP, click on it and it takes you to your profile. On the left margin area click on Edit Signature. That takes you to an empty box, copy and paste your ticker there. You can also write in info, and add smileys.. Don't Forget! to hit the Save Signature in the bottom orange box.. I Hope this helps..

  11. Okay Guys let's start this list of dates.. Just copy, paste and add in your date then post: Soco 9/01/09
  12. Good Luck!.. I will keep you in my Prayers.. Believe me it's not that bad.. Try going on clear liquids for the rest of the day.. Starve that liver of carbs so that it'll shrink..
  13. OMG Jes, You've done so well on your pre-op diet. I'm very impressed... Good Luck! Schase: I'm sure you'll be fine if you stick to clear liquids for four days... Good Luck! Ladies, remember to take some mouth lubricant spray, chapstick and mouth wash. When you wake up from the surgery and the rest of that day your mouth is extremely dry.. I tried dissolving some ice chips and swallowing too soon and it made me nauseous.. Remember everyone is different but, it's better to be prepared. When you do start swallowing several hours after surgery it won't be much... so the chapstick will help. Also, the anesthesia leaves a most undesirable taste in your mouth and that's were the mouth wash comes in handy.. Post-op Gals if there's anything else you can add please do so, As this info would have helped me tremendously.. I only had chapstick..
  14. Ivy, I feel the same way.. But, I have a plan. Girl don't you know as soon as I can have mushies, I'm going to puree some steak add a drop or two of A1 sauce and mmm mmm. I can't wait..
  15. Right On  .... I'm glad to hear about your success.. I got banded 9/1/09 at 253 and am now 244.. I had bad shoulder pain due to the co2. I'm 5 days post-op and still have a little pain on and of but, It's so worth it. I'm having problems sipping since I've been a gulper for so long. So I have that Ball feeling in the stomach after I drink something. but, once the liquid goes down it goes away.. I just have to practice sipping small amounts.
  16. Thank You all who contributed to my question about BM.. I'm going to try Colace and see if it does the trick. I love that we can write so candidly... Let's keep on Trackin' Forward.... There's no turning back. Also, I've noticed I can drink a little more without feeling totally full or bloated... Oh No! I hope I don't experience what they refer to as Bandsters Hell... When is that suppose to happen?
  17. Welcome back... I read your blog... OMG you poor thing I didn't even know they could do that. Well, I'm glad you're back home and everything is okay. It's great that the doctor decided to put the band in. That would have been such a let down... Good Luck!
  18. Welcome Back Gals, I hope your first days are good.. Cortney: I'm drinking the Isopure drinks too. I find there a little think but, tolerable. At first I couldn't drink much so I drank it straight but then I started diluting them with sugarfree kool-aid. You have to try several because I found the apple one gross.. Jolynne: You're lucky not to have the gas pain. Not everyone has it. I hope your incision feels better. I have to wait a little longer for the mushies...
  19. Day 4 post-op: I'm moving around well. Maybe a little slow. I feel like if I walk to fast or do any abrupt movements I could open one of the incisions. School started, so I had a 9am class this morning. I found it hard to sit through the entire three hours. The desk was right were one of the incisions was. Thank God he let us out early.. I then went to my dentist office where I had a temporary crown re-cemented.. My stomach was growling something awful. I didn't drink my shake when I left the house. I calmed it down with a little Isopure mixed with Sugarfree Kool-Aid. I stopped at rite aid and picked up some colace and more GasX. This is gross but, I haven't had a bowel movement since before the surgery.. Is that normal? But, As you can see I'm feeling okay and driving out and about. I must admit I feel a little tired. I'm going to take my vitamins and a protein shake.. mmm maybe s sugar-free iced coffee..yummy
  20. Hello Ivy, I was banded on the 1st and you're right. The gas pain is the worst.. Walking helps tremendously. My nurse said that some patients get the gas pain on the back!.. I'm glad mine was in the shoulder and stomach. I think the port incision is probably a little more sore. At least it is for me.. :sneaky:
  21. I'm not feeling much of an appetite either. Although, I am concern about getting my Vitamins and Protein in. So pretty much I force myself to finish my Protein drinks and vitamins. I was still doing all Clear liquids. However, today I had a phone consultation with my doctors nurse and she said I was suppose to be on an "All liquid" diet. Okay, so I tried to eat some low carb yogurt. Two teaspoons and I felt so full, like I had pigged out at a buffet. Maybe I'll stick to broth for a bit..
  22. Good Luck Dean just hang in there.. The reason I think I don't have much of an appetite is because I'm totally preoccupied with all the new feeling my stomach is having. That and the painful shoulder gas... That by the way not everyone gets.. I used the hebalife shakes that really made me feel full but, they didn't have much protein. Another lifesaver for me was the chicken broth but that was on a clear liquid diet. If you're just on a liquid diet you can have much tastier soups. I'm sure time will fly by... :smile2:
  23. I'm pretty shocked about the weight loss.. I wasn't losing any weight prior to surgery.. even on the all liquid diet.. Yeah the gas is the worse, my incisions don't even hurt.. I was surprised they are so small. Oh.. and your tummy does look good. Very shapely woo hoo! As for the protein, like I said that vial was gross. I also bought some bottles of Isopure at GNC. They have 40 grams of protein and 0 carbs only drawback it's a 20oz bottle. That seems like alot of liquid... That's in the clear liquid spectrum. I think I read that you can drink shakes. I was drinking Premier Nutrition protein shakes from Costco. They're pretty good with 30 grams of protein, 160 calories and 5 carbs. They come premix in little containers and are only 11 oz. I think those are going to be my choice of protein when I start introducing shakes into my diet. As for the sweetness, maybe you could water them down. Today, I tried some SF jello. Unfortunately, I didn't break it up or dissolve it in my mouth enough, so when I swallowed it felt like it got stuck for a bit... weird.. :smile2:
