I wanted to update my scar outcome....
Dr. Rodriguez wasnt able to use the scars from my band removal but I will say that his 4 cuts are far more nice and clean looking than the 6 cuts Dr. Primomo did here in the US!

My most wonderful Hubby took a pureed lobster bisque and added a heaping teaspoon of tobiko caviar on top. It is sooo good, and it isn't messing with my sleeve at all! (I have been stuck on thick liquids for awhile)
    Yayyy!
If anyone is interested I will pin him down about the recipie.

    I didn't blenderize anything, lol.
For the pizza craving though, try taking some ricotta, spices and a touch of plain Tomato sauce and top with with a bit of cheese. Put it in a mini-ramekin and heat it in the over and broil the cheese on top. Maybe it will help?

Not a huge drinker. I usually only buy one drink and it's strong. A long island iced tea. It gets me "nice."

    Hi Forum!
I have just been sleeved 12 days ago, My first day was Horrible, the pain Meds they had attached to my I.V. made me super nautious and heaving on an empty sleeved stomach certainly was not fun plus Aunt Flow showed "un-invited and 5 days early" the night before surgery so I was cramping up a storm too, (sorry fella's if this is too much Info), but after I passed the leak test they gave me some *Percocet* and I was good to go! (Me and *Percy* got along just fine for a few days)...LOL Prior to the surgery I read so many stories from the forum on how they had a hard time in the beginning with gas, burping, bathroom issues and swelling, but I really didn't get any of that (Thank God), In fact I felt I should have returned to work after about 6 days, I felt that good, It just makes me wonder if my surgeon did everything right cause I was expecting so much of these after effects but so far so good, I guess?..
After two days being home I really didn't need to do that "mushie food stage" I was able to chew the little food I did eat really well and not have any issues, sometimes a lil something will come back up but nothing to complain about, which again I was suprised, though after about 4 bites, using a baby spoon, I felt like I was filling up so I guess the surgery was a success. I do have to admit though that on the 5th day I found myself hungry every 3 hrs and I would eat a bit here and a bit there which was depressing me because it wasn't healthy stuff I was picking at and I did not want all this to go to waste, so the next few days I just kept vigil and now I am feeling better and I have not done that again. I was a bit lazy though the first week and half, I didn't really walk or anything I just found myself exhausted and just didn't feel like moving, but today I returned to work and on my lunch time I walked a mile and a half in a half an hour and I had to actually remind myself to eat something. My menu right now is 1/2 cup farina in the morning, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 3 peach slices in the afternoon, and 3oz of meat and 1/4 cup of broccoli for dinner, which I have to say all meal items takes me more than an hour to an hour and half to eat and most of the time I don't finish it. *Yay*
All in all I am happy so far with the surgery and feel that I am no longer a "Slave" to food like I was before and I feel that maybe finally I can beat that "Over-Eating Devil" that takes over me.
If anybody else had a similar experience that I did when they were first sleeved I would Love to hear it, but of course I would Love to hear anybody's story on the forum, they are all very inspiring and I learn something new with every testimony.
Lotsa Love and Blessings to All Of You on your Journey to a New Life!!

F***ing people who actually secretly (or not so secretly) delight in your fat vulerability because it makes them feel better about themselves! And should you upset the status quo, they really flip out! They desperatey NEED for you to stay unhappy, to better congratulate themselves on being superior!! fuuuuuu** that shi*.

I love this topic..It's amazing how similar our experiences are. I was told "you're not that big just exercise and eat right like you did before".. when i lost 20 lbs, i was told you look fine you don't need to lose anymore and that has been the refrain since then. When i was 180 my mom begged me not lose anymore. People love saying "girl you are going to blow away" "quick grab on to something there's a strong wind outside" I just laugh it off but it gets old fast. I'm a size 12 and weighs 170 so i'm not an anorexic. One sister is feeling threatened and the other one can't weight to be able to wear my clothes (they are both smaller than me). I honestly don't care about what other's opinions are about my weight, I have a goal in mind and I am feeling healthy and beautiful and that's all that matter.

I know my mom will be such a hattttter! When I was smaller she gave me no words of encouragement. Occasionally she would say "that top looks nice," but it was almost like she didn't want to. She has issues with emotions. I was looking pretty good. God help her once I get down to that weight, minus sixty more, plus I'm cute.. Good grief. Sorry, just had to toot my own horn for a second.

    Hey everyone!
I have been MIA for a few days. I was busy getting sleeved
Ponce de leon and Trish are amazing!
I have to admit it was slightly more painful than I imagined -- really just the gas pains. When people mentioned gas pains I thought normal gas, like abdomen, but I was wrong. I woke up with terrible pain in my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack. Other than that, everything has gone well. I am in the hotel now and am relaxing.
I still have some gas pains that nothing seems to be helping but oh well.
    Now time to nap!

Yes, it is very real!! I had my preadmission testing in the hospital yesterday. I had EKG, chest x-rays, and blood work. I met with anestheology and was told a lot of things to prepare for the day of my surgery. I got really nervous when she was telling me. I kept thinking, oh wow, this is really happening!! My nerves were all over the place. I was nervous, excited, scared. Like you said, it is not becoming very very real. We are one step closer to our day.
Did you have to do any other preop classes or mandatory appts? I went through 2 small group preop classes, 2 dietician appts, 1 mental health, and I needed to go to 2 postop classes. It was very informative and I learned so much through this.

I just got home from the hospital today. Surgery was Monday. Everyone is different but, I didn't have too much pain or nausea. They have meds to control both and I took advantage of them.
Keep reading up on what to expect, the good and the bad. 90% of how you will feel is all about your mental attitude. Go into this fully informed with your eyes open. You'll come out on the other side just fine!

My grandmother actually told me the same with losing weight as far as my goal. She said and I quote "just be careful you don't want to lose much more weight" and that is at the point that I was 30-40 pounds above healthy bmi.
I just came to the conclusion that nobody else's opinion on where my weight loss should start or stop truly matters, my body will tell me when its happy.

I am about 9 months post-op. I had a 3oz margarita at a party in November at 5 months. I will tell you it hit me far faster than it had ever before. Also my nut and surgeon both suggest waiting a year before drinking alcohol, as it can slow weight loss since it is liquid calories.
On the other hand if you decide to have a drink, remember that you don't have to drink a coctail at the event. I have found getting a glass of cranberry juice generally throws people off at those functions. Plus I don't have to explain anything I'm not comfortable explaining to strangers.
    Good Luck!

Okay, everyone I think I am going to start an April 2012 sleeve group and invite you all to be in it, and anyone else who will be sleeved in April can join for that extra added support. I will do this in the next day or two. I looked into it and you need at least five people to create a group, we have way more than that.
