Hi February losers! I know we've got a great group in the pre-op sub forum, but now that we are on to week two, thought we should start the thread over here too! I see a few other Feb stragglers around so hopefully they can join here too.
I had my surgery on Monday 2/3. I'm down 10.5 as of one week. Not sure if this is a normal amount or not. I'm not getting in much calories, but do get in Protein of at least 50g per day (need to up this) and all my Water. I have a drain which still causes me pain. Other than that thing, I'm doing good on my incision and recovery. Today I start back up work, but thankfully it's from home and I just have to work on a laptop or computer.
So looking forward to the losing phase of this journey with you all and learning and growing from each other.

I don't have this as an app on my phone.
I can add the picture now, but it's upside down. I can't get it to rotate and save. Sorry. The picture is me with my shirt tucked in! First time in years!

Girls I will try to find some non discreet pictures to post. I'm not a fan of posting pictures of my naked body with me in it! LOL.
AS far as cost, the 3 procedures came to about $27K.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Wishing you a very Happy New Year as well. Looking forward to continuing this journey with you all in 2015.
I had a bit of a success today and hit onederland! Weight is slowly creeping down, but I'll take it!

My hair started falling out dramatically around 4 months and continued for another 3 months. I'm now using women's rogaine and seeing a lot of regrowth. It's sticks up, but I'm ok as it's coming back! I've gone through this before and it does come back, so just hang in there.

ok I found a picture of me before which was last September (with my brother at his wedding) and I was probably 20lbs below my surgery weight. Then a pic from this morning in my size 14 jean capris!

I think I dumped! I ate a Protein Bar that had sugar alcohol in it. I've had other things with a little sugar alcohol before and it makes me nauseous. And I've had this particular Protein bar before, but today it took me over the edge. As soon as I ate it, I felt so sick (nauseous) and then I started to just feel icky. I had to put my head down on my desk at work a few times. After about an hour, I decided to go home early and boy am I glad I did. As soon as I started to get up and get ready to leave, I realized I was going to have a bad potty experience. Mad it home thankfully, and ran to the bathroom for an explosion! Sorry TMI. I feel fine now, but wow, that was crazy! So was that truly dumping? I think it was, but not having it happen before, I don't truly know!

Good point Terry, even though I was only out a week, I filed out the disability forms for 3 weeks just in case. It's easy to get the time up front, but harder to extend.

Dellieflower, you are doing amazing! Way to go.
Jeanette you are so creative with your recipes and non flavored Protein Powder. I am in a rut and need to spice things up and start to cook more.
My weight loss is going slow the last couple of weeks. Hoping to start exercising more next week and get back into losing consistently.

ryn2bthin, how much Protein are you getting in? I would think with your exercise routine you would need to be on the higher side of the protein. I do think your weight loss it awesome!

For any of you already on full liquids, does that include yogurt? And if so can you eat a normal size container in one go? I ate a small container of greek yogurt this morning and it seems like that should have been too much to each in one sitting. I had no problems what so ever.

Erin you look so great!!! So glad your scale is moving again and you've done better with bad habits. I do like the P3's also, they are great for me for lunch if I need something convenient. I can eat the whole thing though if I go slow enough over about 30 minutes.

I took one week off completely, then worked from home for a week, then back to the office after that. Desk job as well. Worked for me.

Zom, that is fantastic!!!! So proud of you.
Wallflower, it's totally normal for the weight loss to slow down and then catch up, etc. They said you don't really start loosing on a consistent basis until 12 weeks. Then from then to 6-9 months, it's pretty consistent.
RR, you might want to stick to more soft or even pureed foods still. I couldn't have chicken until 6 weeks I think. Yes, it WILL get better, the first 6 weeks are tough! I now can drink all the Water I want as fast as I want.
Sammy, I think I got my cycle pretty early after the surgery, like earlier than I expected. But it's hard for me to know for sure as I don't actually bleed as I've had an ablation.
I do get constipated sometimes, but I take a stool softener 3X a week to help and that seems to be effective most of the time.
I have joined the hair loss club!!! I"m not happy about it either. This has happened to me in the past before with rapid weight loss, so it was expected. I've been VERY good about my Protein as well. I think it's just part of the shock to the body. My doc says it will stop around 9 months and will grow back (which I know it does). In the meantime I am using generic Rogaine from costco, which I did before and made a huge difference!

Sounds like everyone is doing well and made it through Easter ok. We went out for a brunch and managed some of a ham and cheese omelet. i still need to work on having more solid food. Today I had a meatball for lunch and that was yummy and went down great. I definitely don't think I could do 3 oz of meat though. I sometimes have a P3 (new Protein packs from Oscar Mayer) and they are 2 oz (some low fat cheese, almonds and turkey). I find them perfect. I tried my first salad as well and that was ok. Only problem is I can't eat very much and it's not much protein so then it feels like a waste. Anyone else struggle with that? I still haven't tried any sugar or Desserts, too chicken to dump!
Zom, great job being on vacation and still loosing 5lbs a week, that is amazing. I'm consistently at a 3lb avg per week. I won't be able to weigh for 3 weeks! Part of me is wondering how the heck I'm going to stay sane, but the other is excited to see a big jump (hopefully) after the 3 weeks. I have a cast on my leg and that is why I can't weigh. I go for my 12 week post op next week and I hope they won't make me weigh with the cast, that would be just cruel. LOL

ReaRaes, so glad you finally got a date!!! Let us know if we can answer any questions for you.
Claire, so jealous you are in Italy. I went there in 1998 and had WAY too much fun. I'm glad you are able to enjoy it and not worry about the food, such a relief to enjoy life as you should be.
Zom, that is so awesome you were able to fit on every ride! Such a great feeling. I went to Disneyland a month ago and was worried about that, but was able to do it all too. Phew! Great job on the steps! I wore my fit bit to DL too, amazing to see the results and I was only there for a day.
tkauhi, so sorry about the big stall, that is super frustrating I'm sure. Have you been able to read on here and find any plateau busters? You are sill doing amazing, so just keep at it and it will not fail you.
I'm hanging in there, doing the same thing. Really need to step out of my food shell and try new things. It's hard when you know what works and that is easy.

To be honest, I don't think I could have bent over a tub for a couple of weeks. And you can't soak your incisions for awhile. Do you have a gym that you could shower at like every other day?

Looking great Dreaming! Makes me wish I did a before picture, but I didn't!
ReaRaes, sorry you still don't have your approval! What a long journey you are on. Sounds like you are busier than ever though, so maybe a good thing until you are moved and settled.
SullysRants, you are doing amazing! Must feel so great to have 50lbs off you!
Zom, great update with your doctor! So cool they want to possibly use you as an example, you go girl!
I'm doing ok, starting to be able to eat a little more. Just had my first ground turkey (about 1/4 of a cup) mixed with Beans. I had my upper GI on Thursday and all looked fine. I am on the small side (tight passway), so if it does get worse from scar tissue, I'd probably need to get it dilated. But don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary. I've been keeping up with my walking and the weight is slowly coming off (some weeks faster than others).
Hope everyone else is doing great.
