    October 6, 2009 = Surgery Date !

That's great news, and good luck...my surgery is the day before. I'm doing a lot of protein shakes and weight control oatmeal, and a small dinner. We can do it!
  6. If you paid for the band out 100% yourself with no insurance, could you tell me how much it was? Also, what hospital, date, and did the cost include an overnight stay? Thanks! Steve
  7. Good luck...the above advice is great. I had my gallbladder out 6 weeks ago, and I'm still pre-op for band. I was out of the hospital 17 hours after the operation, the recovery was at most 48-72 hours. It hurt a bit at the incision site and I couldn't really sleep on my stomach, but some Tylenol PM was really all I needed. Considering it's an organ removal operation, it's relatively painless and routine -- and I'm sure you'll be ok.
  8. Because I have to pay 100% myself, I'm gathering $$ info about lap-band, and it seems that the overnight admission adds major expense to it all. If you also paid for it without insurance, can you just answer this for me: 1. Total cost 2. Hospital name, city & state 3. Overnight admission or not Thanks!
