    October 6, 2009 = Surgery Date !

That's great news, and good luck...my surgery is the day before. I'm doing a lot of protein shakes and weight control oatmeal, and a small dinner. We can do it!
  15. If you paid for the band out 100% yourself with no insurance, could you tell me how much it was? Also, what hospital, date, and did the cost include an overnight stay? Thanks! Steve
  16. Because I have to pay 100% myself, I'm gathering $$ info about lap-band, and it seems that the overnight admission adds major expense to it all. If you also paid for it without insurance, can you just answer this for me: 1. Total cost 2. Hospital name, city & state 3. Overnight admission or not Thanks!
  17. Good luck...the above advice is great. I had my gallbladder out 6 weeks ago, and I'm still pre-op for band. I was out of the hospital 17 hours after the operation, the recovery was at most 48-72 hours. It hurt a bit at the incision site and I couldn't really sleep on my stomach, but some Tylenol PM was really all I needed. Considering it's an organ removal operation, it's relatively painless and routine -- and I'm sure you'll be ok.
