  1. I went to tickerfactory.com created my ticker, and copied one of the codes, I can't remember which one, to the signature section of my LBT page. Hope that helps.
  2. I start my liquids tomorrow...yikes!! I mean, YAY!!! It's gonna be great. I'm getting so nervous and anxious it's driving me a bit nuts!
  3. yeah I just read about Slim Fast...that sucks! I really liked those and was going to the store today to stock up for my liquid diet I start on Tues! I'll have to get with my nut . Thanks for the info & good luck Monday!
  4. It's not fair to single out people who are overweight. If they made everyone take it, I could understand. In fact, my employer is looking at charging overweight people more for health insurance premiums...not fair. They already will start charging smokers more starting 2010...I'm not even a smoker but I still think it's unfair.
  5. I had to have two done and they billed $2,000 - $3500. With my insurance plan, I had to pay 20% of that and I was NOT happy. I was actully ticked that they made me get it done the first time, and when they found I had very, I mean very mild sleep apnea (like 5 and under is normal, mine scored 6) my surgeon made me go back for a 2nd one for the titration study and is making me get a CPAP machine. UGH! With having to pay 20% of my medical bills, I've racked up a good $4,000 of out of pocket expenses just for the testing alone. And my insurance is not covering the surgery, so I have to pay for that out of pocket as well. I tell people I'm putting a brand new car in my belly!
  6. My nut said I can do 2 Slim Fast low carb, and 3 Atkins Advantage shakes (plus a cup of chicken broth, sugar free jello, and 2 sugar free popsicles) a day for my 2 week pre-op diet. I've already been drinking the Slim Fast and Atkins shakes for breakfast pretty much every day since September and I really like those...chocolate are the best. Especially when you get them really cold. They were kind of "blah" when I first started, but now I think they are pretty good.
  7. Oh no! I did not want to hear that! I've got a sinus cold now, at least I've got 2 1/2 weeks to clear it up before surgery...makes me want to go hide in a bubble! Glad they were able to reschedule pretty quick...good luck!
  8. My doctor requires you to be off birth control a month before and a month after surgery because it increases the risks of blood clots.
  9. I first just told my husband and parents. Once I told my teenage daughter, she told her teenage cousins, who told their parents, so word is all around the family now. I told my boss after my first visit with my surgeon and knew that I was going through with it, which was back in September. I just told a few of my co-workers, only because we were discussing the menu for our office holiday gathering, which will be while I'm on my liquid diet and I knew they would ask questions as to why I'm sipping on protein shakes instead of eating! I've gotten all good reactions, mostly "if you think this is good for you, I hope it works for you." My older brother has been really the only naysayer, and that was just in the beginning, telling me I should just continue dieting and excercise. But, I explained to him that I have been doing that and haven't been able to lose anymore significant weight, so he understands now that I'm at the point where I need help. But, I'm one of those people who when I set my mind to something, no one can convince me otherwise, so it didn't matter what anyone else thought...lol!
