  3. Hello everyone! I am due January 14th with our first girl!! Im so excited! I was banded in August of 2009 and we had no problems TTC. This pregnancy has been horrible on me, I have been sick since 9 weeks and have lost 30 pounds since finding out I was prego (total of 70)! Between being nauseated at the sight of food and constantly throwing up, I thought for sure it was the band. But, my lap band doc does not think any of my symptoms are a result of the band and therefore has not taken any fluid out of my band. I think I am at 5.5CC total. The real weird thing is that now my port sticks out of the side of my tummy and looks HORRIBLE!!! Like scared my son when I was walking around in a sports bra! Has this happened to anyone else? I am sure hoping it goes back in after I deliver because I do not want another surgery! BTW...Congrats to all the other soon to be mommies!
  4. Ugh....I was so sick this past week also. I had some really bad stomach bug that was causing me to vomit violently and have diarrhea for 4 days. My appetite has finally came back, but my stomach just doesnt feel right. I cant seem to eat much of anything without feeling sick or wanting to vomit more. Tonight my hubby made homemade spaghetti and meat balls, I took 2 bites of spaghetti and 1 bite of a meatball and...I was staring into the toilet. I feel like my food is sitting in my chest and then I have trouble breathing. The only thing that seems to help is drinking water, but only a little sip...otherwise i get the same feeling all over again!! Did I hurt my band?? I finally got some oral phenergan and that seemed to help with the nausea. Im just concerned that I might have done some damage to my band or my esophagus.
  5. Well I want to thank all of you for your words of encouragement. It really helps to know that I am not the only one who is going thru this transition phase in life. I did just get my first fill an I really do feel a difference, however I do notice that I sometimes get hungry between meals, so I get into the "snacking" when I shouldn't. I am sticking with my exercise routine of at least 30 minutes a day and my doctor said I really need to increase my protein. So hopefully this fill will change things a little bit and give me a little "pick me up". Does anyone have issues with their weight fluctuating dramatically from day to day?? I have noticed that mine can change 5 pounds eathier heavier or lighter. I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but I cant resist! Should I just put the scale away...out of sight out of mind?? Again..thanks for all your positive imput! Tamm
  6. UGHH...Im totally frustrated. I got banded on August 11th and I have only lost 7 pounds. I dont know what I am doing wrong. When I eat its very hard for me to tell when I am full and most of the time I end up eating too much. I have noticed that I do not stay full in between meals and its hard for me to regulate the fluid intake before and after meals. I try to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, but nothing seems to help. My doctor said there was only residual in my band, however I go for my first fill in 3 days. Are my problems i am experiencing because I have no fluid in my band? Will it get easier after my fill?? Im so frustrated right now, like I was before I got the band. Anyone have any ideas?? Please help!! Thanks, Tamm
  7. I was banded early yesterday AM, over all I feel ok however Im fairly weak and the only pain I am having is where my port is. Is this normal?? Also has anyone tried Gas-X to help get rid of the excess gas in their tummy?? Im feeling really uncomfortable because of it, it hurts to sit up. I walked the mall today with my mother for over an hour, but I didnt feel any relief. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks so much!!
  8. Wow..thats so funny, I was also banded yesterday and I was feeling the same way. Also I am feeling quite weak, im guessing its from not eating...water and gatorade only goes so far.
  9. Kiss that is fantastic and very informative. I also have very bad PCOS and endometriosis. I have to take a continious birth control cycle or else I am in so much pain I wanna die!! Its great to hear that your symptoms went away after lap band. I have tried for many many years to get my weight under control to fix my PCOS, but I have never been able to achieve it. I would exercise and eat healthy and get NO results. I am set to be banded on August 11th and I cant wait to finally be able to make my body healthy and hopefully one day have children!
  10. I hear ya...mine is on the 11th. Suprisingly my pre-op diet is only low fat diet! I dont know how well I would do on a clear liquid diet, but thank gosh I dont have to deal with it! Good Luck:thumbup:
  11. I am having my banding done on the 14th, I am 212lbs and 5'4". I will let you know how it goes.
