  1. I had a fill and two weeks later had restriction. As a matter of fact, I have been in massive pain since. Its been a roller coaster where one day I can eat smashed/mashed and the next day I can eat soft veggies and meats - but the next day I cant keep liquids down. I have a call into my surgeon and hope that I can get .5 cc removed
  2. After my surgery (November 2009) I bought myself Troll/Camillia Bead Bracelet (similar to the Pandora) and for every 5 pounds I lose I buy myself a bead. I've got 14 beads as of today and because these beads arent the cheapest, it's definitely a treat and at least once or twice a day I get a nice comment about my braclet - which lets me brag about my 70 pound weight loss!
  3. thank you so much for this information! I am going to give my surgeon a call on Monday morning. good luck with your doctors appointment too! Take care, Belinda
  4. I was banded in July 2009. I've got 6cc in a 10.5 band. About a month ago I had a 1cc fill and the first 2 weeks were great. But, two weeks ago, after eating a spinach salad at a friends house, I've had terrible acid reflux, heartburn, pressure like a brick sitting on my chest for the past two weeks. I was on mainly liquids and smashed/mashed. However, three days ago I felt wonderful - so I tried to eat a 1" x 1" piece of baked chicken. I had about 1/8 cup of very soft green Beans and almost instantly I had PAIND and acid reflux. I have put myself back on liquids and can only sip on these liquids because sometimes they come up. My surgeon doesnt have office hours on Fridays, so I'm waiting til Monday in the hopes that something gives. I'd love to hear from anyone else with the same symptoms and what it might be... band slippage, restriction, food stuck, hernia, ???
  5. I was banded in July 2009 and have been experiencing left shoulder pain since. It bothers me all the time and feels like a pinched nerve (burning/pulling sensation). It's terrible because I sleep with my left arm under my pillow so I've had to alter my sleeping position. Thank you to the bander who posted the use of a heating pad. I just ran in and grabbed my heating pad and am hoping this works! Also, thank you to the bander who posted about the diaphram. I've had terrible acid reflux, heartburn, pressure like a brick sitting on my chest for the past two weeks. I called my surgeon and he put me back on liquids thinking that something was stuck in my band. After 6 days I was finally able to eat yogurt. on the 8th day I tried eating a piece of baked chicken and a few very soft green Beans and I'm back to square one... PAIN and Acid Reflux. I can only sip on liquids and sometimes they come up too. My surgeon doesnt have office hours on Fridays, so I'm waiting til Monday in the hopes that something gives. I'd love to hear from anyone else with the same symptoms and what it might be... band slippage, restriction, food stuck, hernia, ???
  6. Oh Thank Goodness I'm not alone! I am 12 days post surgery and I am so scared because I find that I haven't had to puree my foods as much as I thought I would have to. I dont have any problem with feeling full or wanting to snack. I am eating good Proteins, veggies/fruits and just chewing chewing chewing. I even had some green Beans and beets that were not pureed but smashed and it all went down well. BUT I am so afraid that I am either not eating the right combination of food or maybe eating too much. I do measure and/or weigh each of them and have not snacked or cheated in any way but I am GAINING weight... At 10 days post op, I had lost a total of 26 pounds but in the last 2 days I have gained almost 5 pounds. I wonder if I am retaining Water, am I eating too much or not the right combination of foods. I also wonder if its because I went 8 days on liquids and then it took a few days for my body to bounce back and catch up.
