Restriction after a fill

Can someone explain why it may take up to 2 weeks to be able to feel restriction after a fill?

I thought that when the band is filled with saline, there would be immediate restriction, but I have read that this is not always the case.

Thanks.:(

This hasn't been my experience and in fact I have the most restriction right after my adjustments.

I had a fill and two weeks later had restriction. As a matter of fact, I have been in massive pain since. Its been a roller coaster where one day I can eat smashed/mashed and the next day I can eat soft veggies and meats - but the next day I cant keep liquids down. I have a call into my surgeon and hope that I can get .5 cc removed

The answer my surgeon gives is they don't know why a fill can take 2 weeks to make itself known. It just happens with some people and not every time.

I've even had an unfill take 2 weeks to settle down. What I mean by that is that I felt immediate relief from the "too tight" feeling by the unfill.. but it took 2 weeks to stop feeling extra hungry from the unfill.

Short answer.. no one knows why.
