  3. Hello everyone Hope you all are doing good. I'm not so good right now I just got out of the hospital. I was having what I thought was a really bad period last week and ended up going to the Dr on friday and it turned out I had a tumor the size of a football on my right ovary. So they admitted me on Friday and did surgery to remove on Saturday and I just got home today. This was much worse than the lapband but I hope to recover quickly so I can get back to losing weight. Well hope everyone else is doing much better than I am right now TTY Soon NYer's

Well I did go to the Dr on friday and ended up being admitted to the hospital and having surgery on Saturday. I had a tumor the size of a football on my ovary so they removed it and I just came home today. So thanks everyone for gettin me to go to the Doc Well hopefully soon I'll be back in the swing of things no more gym for awhile and I'm out of work again for at least a month this time. Well talk to you all soon again

Well not to be too personal but I havent had my period for almost a year and I had my surgery August 9th and yesterday morning I got my visitor...Lucky me right? Except it is soooo bad I came home from work yesterday and stayed home today. Even though I never got a regular cycle I know menstrual cramps can get bad but this is the worst pain ever and it's hurtin really bad around my port area especially tonight I'm in so much pain I could cry and I don't feel like its just pms pain Is this Normal I took my pain meds that I had left from after the surgery and it's not doing anything The worst is when I move or walk I almost feel like something is tearing inside my stomach??? Any Advice Please!!!!!!!!
  9. Thanks Chrissie. I haven't had a fill yet my doc normally doesnt do them till about 3 months unless we arent losing any weight for 4 consecutive weeks. Well I went to the doc today and I lost 3.5lbs not as much as I wanted but they were very happy said most people are gaining when they first go on solids YEAH I guess the gym is helping. I also have more food added to my diet I can now add 3oz of salad to my lunch and dinner. I went to the gym again today and did 45 min on treadmill at a little bit faster of a speed and 15 min on bike and before I go to bed I will lift my little 3lb weights to help with my "bat wings" LOL I think it might sound more glorious to others than I feel like it is I am really stickin to that strict diet and working as hard as I can at the gym I'm a BIG girl and I have ALOT to lose so I know I need to work extra hard. I'm 26 with no kids and one of the reasons I am doing this now is so that one day if I decide I want kids I am already healthy and will be able to have a healthy baby. So that keeps me determined plus all my friends are skinny LOL they are really helpin keep me motivated and my family is all really big so they are pushin me hard because they are proud I am doing it (like I'm the guinea pig LOL) I'm the youngest in my family and the most determined to be healthy so I want to try and show them it can be done and hopefully some of them will follow in my steps Well keep your head up you'll get going on your weight loss sooner than you think everyone has a different way to jump start the loss.
  10. Chrissie, I read your ABC post and I really hope you start feeling better about the whole process. Like I said just take advantage right now to heal and get used to the band being in you. Soon you will have more restriction sometimes I wish my restriction was more gradual But IT WILL work for you I know you can get through it just have some faith in yourself and you'll do great. I'm still going to the gym about an hour or so a day and I'm gonna go 4-5 times a week. I love how I feel after working out. I've had a couple rough times with the food thing my first was Saturday I went shopping about half hour from my house and I was gone for about 4 hours and by the end of the day I was sooo hungry but couldnt "just grab something" quick and I was by myself so I didn't want to go in a restaurant or diner alone to sit and have a healthy meal so I ended up coming home sooner than I wanted so I can cook something. Then tonight was my nieces 9th birthday and we always go out to dinner as a family and I told everyone I really didn't want to go, I've only eatten out twice and was at a diner where I know the people so it was easy to get something made specifically how I can have it...plain, not fried foods or breaded. My niece got upset and wanted me to go so of course I went and we went to a nice restaurant and at first I was having a hard time ordering because all the fish was breaded and fried or stuffed and the chicken the same, too much stuff added that I couldn't have but finally my Dad asked the manager if they could make me plain grilled chicken with soft green beans So I felt better until my whole family including the kids got up to get salad and I sat by myself, salad is one of the things I miss the most so my Mom tried to find something on the salad bar I could have and their wasnt anything no soft fruit nothing. So I decided to go outside while everyone ate their salad but then once our food came I was fine I just felt like I was the picky one of the bunch but really it was that I couldnt have that stuff, It turned out ok but decided it will be awhile before I go to a restaurant again. It's much easier to cook for myself and not bother others because of my strict diet. OK I know that was long, sorry needed to tell someone how I felt after all that LOL well it goes to show I think everyone has their moments that are tough. GOOD LUCK to everyone and keep up the good work and Chrissie I'll keep you in my thoughts. I go to the doc tomorrow to see how much I lost hope its something Wish me luck!!!
  11. Hi tired nice to meet you so it looks like your doing great Congrats
  12. Hey guys just checking to see how everyones doin ??? Chrissie I hope your feelin better
  13. Chrissie give it time it will work you just havent had your fill yet and you might have had a larger band put in so therefore its not restricting your stomach. Don't give up you only have good times ahead!! Keep trying even if you mess up start over, eventually you'll get it. Hey while you can enjoy some of that food cuz I'm stuck with barely nothing LOL So have some for me : )
  14. lol its ok me too

  18. Hey everyone Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I think my band is a size 4 and I definitely have restriction My surgery was almost a month ago and still eat 3oz portions at a time of meat and veggies no red meat at all. Well today I went to the gym for the first time since my surgery and boy do i feel good i went on the treadmill for 40min at a speed of 2.5- 2.8 and then on the bike for 10 min and lifted some weights (small weights) But I really feel good cant wait to go again tomorrow after work. Well talk to you all again soon and keep up the good work
  19. Hey all NY'ers!!! How's evreyone doing? Great I'm sure. Well I've been back to work for a week now and doing pretty good, I've been on solids for a week and a day so and I'm loving it ,measuring everything still and chewing ALOT:hungry: . My Dr is pretty strict with the post op diet but so far have done fairly well I haven't eaten anything i wasnt supposed to but have had an extra bite or two of chicken ( I'm only allowed 3oz for each meal) I also stopped after work and joined the local gym and I'm starting tomorrow after work.:clap2: I'm actually sooo excited I just hope I stay this motivated. Well hope everyone is doing good. Keep in touch !!! Ok well I'm off to bed, :notagree I'm also working on not staying up ALL night. I'm such a night owl LOL but gotta get up early have a long day tomorrow
  20. I have been feeling very hungry too!! I'm afraid of gaining any weight back but I know my Dr won't do a fill until I go 4 weeks without any weight loss. I can tell I have some restriction but I'm only supposed to eat 3oz of meat and 3oz of veggies but that doesnt fill me up and I 've gone back for a few more bites of chicken. I also have been having snacks in between, I mean they are the snacks I'm allowed to have such as cottage cheese or yogurt, but still wish I didn't feel the need to snack in between meals. I am definitely eating a lot less than before surgery but not the amount that my doc wants me to eat.
  21. Faybie I agree I read some of that too and didnt understand why their are people on here fighting first we are all on here for support so why talk to someone if they arent supportive well at least we all get along LOL
  22. Hey I have a question before my surgery I've tried "diet" stuff like the no sugar added, things with artificial sweetener, my Dad is diabetic and they've always had sugar free everything in the house since i was a kid and I've tried to like it the diet drinks, sugar free desserts, etc. I always couldnt bear the taste. After my surgery I was allowed to have sugar free ice pops and diet snapple so I figured I'd give it a shot and they tasted so sweet to me and I wasnt ready for the sweetness so I didnt have much. Well now I'm on to solid foods well somewhat solid and went and got some yogurt with artificial sweeteners because they are the only ones with low enough calories....and I LOVE IT!!! I've now tried different things "diet" or no sugar added and I can't even tell they are sweetened with aspartame I feel like my taste buds have totally changed. I mean it's a good thing but has that happened to anyone else. I was worried before my surgery I wouldnt be able to enjoy my new diet but I really like the taste and it's much better for me. :clap2:
  23. Thanks Chrissie and roiansmom yeah i got through my first week back to work even though it was a short one 3 days but man i got to go to bed earlier i'm really tryin lol well good luck to everyone and good luck tabby let us know how you feel afterwards hope everything gets better
  24. Well I am only 3 1/2 weeks post op and I started to eat solids on tuesday so this is my 4th day and today i was feeling pretty hungry even after eating but before i start to eat i measure my food and if its an actual meal instead of just 3 oz cottage cheese or a piece of fruit i put my food on a small plate i bought myself before my surgery and it makes it look like i have alot of food in front of me when really i only have 3 oz of chicken or fish and 3 oz of vegetables and when i'm done i'm done no matter if i'm hungry or not i need to get used to enough is enough and not over do it. i think we will all get used to it. Good Luck Magic
  25. Congrats to everyone :clap2: I try to keep up with all the posts but have been having a rough time. Well I'm down 18lbs since surgery 8-9-06 and now on solid foods. Very small amounts of good quality foods. I actually love it, i have been eating fish, chicken and lots of veggies, so far my fav is grilled mushroom and onions YUM :hungry: Well I'm gonna try and set a goal for October 1st for 15lbs it might be alot but I think it will help push me.
