  1. At first, I would say yes. But after a few years I think that you don't feel it until around 6ccs.
  2. I had the EXACT same experience. I don't know why they try to keep the amount in our band such a secret. I was very frustrated too but now I make sure they tell me how much is in my band so that I can use those numbers for reference later on. Like I said, I am now at 7.9 cc but can still eat. Before my period of free fills is up, I am sure that I will go in for one more fill....maybe to like 8.1.
  3. How full is your band? Can they make it tighter still?
  4. Update: A few weeks ago I was filled to 7.5cc's and it was kind of tight and probably would have worked. However, at times I could still eat quite a bit so I went in for another fill. I am now at 7.9cc's, which is where I was before my tube got a leak. It is pretty tight but I like it like this. If I was to be picky, I could go back to have an adjustment to like 7.7 or 7.8 .....but I won't.
  5. Well, I went back today and they put one more cc in so now I am up to 7.5cc's. I have to wait 24 hours before I can eat anything so I will let you all know how this fill goes.
  6. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one with no restriction when in the 6cc's! I am going tomorrow for a fill and am hoping to be at least at 7 cc's, if not a few more. I will let you know how it goes.
  7. Thank you. I read that and I would say that my goal is to be in the upper green zone....a tighter green zone. I love that chart though and right now I am for sure in the yellow. I can eat anything. I need to work myself up into the green zone but my patience is growing thing. Ugh!
  8. I want to be tight enough to where it takes me a long time to eat anything of major solid nature. In the past, there were days when I couldn't eat solids no matter how long I took but then the next day I totally could eat solids. That is where I want to be.
  9. Tonice, Did you also not feel any restriction when you were around 6.5ccs?
  10. I have 6.5cc in my 10cc band but I don't feel any restriction. Is this normal? Has anyone else felt similar? How much of a fill should I ask for next time if I don't feel any restriction now and want to be REALLY tight?
  11. I had a 10cc band put in 2 years ago. I had to have a tubing revision done this summer though so I am now going through the "fill process" again. I am currently filled to 6.5cc but still don't have any restriction. Is this normal? As anyone else not felt restriction at 6.5ccs? My doctor made it sound like it would be really tight and maybe even too tight. I am a little scared that the revision didn't work or something and that my fills aren't working at all. However, if others haven't felt restriction at 6.5ccs then I won't get TOO scared. I was perfectly filled until April but I don't know how full my band was then and I really don't think my doctor does either or else why not just fill me up to the same place as before that seemed to place me in the green zone? Those of you with 10cc bands when do you usually get great restriction? I want mine pretty tight.
  12. Moonbeam, did your doctor say anything else? I am wondering if I will always have this pain. Is there anything that I can do or should do?
  13. Karenv, Thank you so much for your reply. I am glad to hear that it gets better and that I am not alone. I get worried easily and always think that something is wrong.....so thank you again for calming my nerves. I will keep you all posted on my progress and please do the same....I would like to know when this will go away.
  14. I have been having some pain around my port area. It only hurts when I am active or when I twist in a certain way. I just had a fill and my doc said that everything looked fine. Is it just from the surgery? I am 5 weeks out. My port is above and to the right of my belly button...on my upper abdomen....right on a fat roll (sorry, TMI?) Therefore, when I bend over or even sit on the toilet, there is a little uncomfortable feeling (maybe I shouldn't say pain). Will this go away? Does it take awhile for you to stop noticing your port?
  15. I just had my first fill 2 days ago. He put in 3.2cc but I am not feeling any more restriction than I did before the fill. Is there at least a range of where people start to fill restriction? I know everyone is different but I am wondering where to aim for when I go in next time. I don't want to waste another free fill.
