So tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for what seems like forever. I gotta be at the hospital at 5:30 AM. It seemed super early at first but I'm probably not gonna sleep a wink so it won't really matter. I am so VERY nervous so I'm asking that you guys keep me in your thoughts and prayers so that I'll have a little more courage tomorrow when the time comes :w00t:. I'll keep you all posted on how everything goes! :biggrin:

Hey I remember reading somewhere that there are some kind of wipes that you can buy to help during the bowel prep stage. Does anyone know the name of these wipes and where I might be able to find them? Or, if there is something else anyone can recommend to help during this dreadful tim e, please let me know. Just wanna be prepared before that day comes

Hi lap band friends! My surgery is set for the 20th....this thursday!! :sad: And I have been freaking out at the thought of it. I've never had any kind of surgery in my life so this would be the first. To top it all off the whole "Clear liquids two days before and a week after" is getting me more nervous than I thought it would. Today and tomorrow will be my last two days of eating regular stuff. I'm starting to realize how dependent I've been on food...but I'm glad that that will all change soon. Has anyone else had this epiphany (spell check) too?? I'm starting to think to myself...how am I gonna do this? Will I be able to get through it?? On that note, I just want to stay how glad I am that I found this forum and how grateful I am to all of you who have shared your experiences. I don't know anyone close to me who has done the lap band surgery, so having this support system has been amazing help. **Joanna** P.S. 1. Finally give my legs some sun via shorts/skirts/dresses 2. Go swimming 3. Go shopping at any store 4. Wear a hoochie version of a costume for Halloween 5. Go out and not be the "fat friend" 6. Get new boobies 7. Dress up for my bf in something skimpy 8. Wear tanktops 9. Meet up with old friends that I haven't seen in years 10. Wear high heels without having to take them off after an hour because they hurt to much

KayVee....thnx for your reply. I don't know about the whole "eating everything in sight prior to surgery is unnecessary" thing cuz it seems pretty NECESSARY for me right now lol. But really, I think I'm going to start drinking Protein shakes in the mornings and I'm gonna try to stay away from sodas too. Hopefully this will help a little. On another note, I don't really plan on telling many people either. I don't even want to tell my job exactly what's going on. The nurse at my surgeon's office said that I can just say I'm having my gallbladder out or something. But what if I really need my gllbladder out one day???!!! Then what would I say?? LOL

Hi everyone!! My name is Joanna and I'm from California. I am 5'1 and 235 pounds....my highest weight :skep:. My surgery is set for August 20th by Dr. Dahiya in Lakewood. I am soooooo excited/nervous! One thing that I noticed was different from everyone else, is that my doctor didn't tell me to do any kind of pre-op diet other than the liquid diet 2 days before. Is this bad?? Oh AND.... does anyone else feel like they're eating more the closer the surgery date gets???!!!! OMG....this is so annoying....I hate it! I feel like I'm eating more and feel the fatest I've ever felt. I don't know what's going on with me :thumbup:

This is one thing that I am very scared about. I love my bf of 2 years so much and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Instead of saying that he is happy for me...all he says is that he's scared that once I lose the weight, I will want to start going out more and will probably meet a younger better looking guy. It really hurts me everytime he says stuff like this. I can never even imagine doing something like that to him. Along with reassuring him that I would never hurt him like that, I have started to tell him that we can both start watching what we eat and we can both start getting more exercise in. This way it's not only my weight loss journey...it's his too and we're doing it TOGETHER. This seems to help a little whenever the subject comes up. Hopefully, it works out after the surgery is done. Does anyone have any other tips to help prevent major issues between us after the surgery??:frown:
