Hi , I just had my surgery on 11/19 with Dr. Aceves. The entire process was incredible! They have everything down to a science in terms of tests, interviews with the docs, nursing care etc. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are the most wonderful people. Caring, professional, top notch on all levels. I think that they EACH visited me about 4-5 times a day. Can you imagine that happening in the US? i had my sleeve done by Dr. Aceves a month ago. I know when i am full..can feel it...its almost a tightness in the esophagus...i stop and go no further! happens with solids..not with soups/ liquids etc. k

Me too, me too! I'm 8 days out and the only thing i craved at the family dinner was the pumpkin pie!!! need a fix! k

lol..i bought 2 of those...opened them up and nearly lost it...I can't stand the smell of whey protein and it's very strong in those! I have a local GNC and they supposedly will take back anything that you don't like and give you a refund...product can be open. All you have to do is keep your receipt! I'm collecting! Happy thanksgiving! k

Help! on day 7 of Clear liquids...Managed to stomach nectar ice tea this am...23 grams Protein plus some sugar free Jello with Isopure..3 grams..working on another nectar right now. Today is the first day I've had more than 5 grams of protein. I'm feeling rather dizzy and weak..i think the lack of calories has really zapped me. I'm not hungry at all, thats not a problem. But HELP! how many calories am I supposed to be getting now and HOW do I get them? Everything that i eat is sugar free.I think I've had a total of about 150 calories today and its from the nectars. Need suggestions! (brain isnt workin real well either at this point!) thanks, Kris

hi all.... Just had surgery on Thursday with Dr. Aceves....Hope newmom is feeling better..I too had nausea and vomiting..but it disappeared by the night of day 2..they kept injecting stuff into my IV. Hopefully the dizziness passes with the nausea too! Next time you see Dr. Campos..please tell him that Kris and Chris from NJ thank him so much for the coffee! Aren't the docs wonderful?! Hi all, im sitting here in my room at the hospital in Mexicali. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are fantastic..I had the surgery on Thursday and will be heading back to San Diego tomorrow before the long flight home to nj on tues. This place is incredible...TOTALLY different from a US hospital in the sense that it is tiny...and people truly care! I think I saw the dr.s at least 4 times a day...one of them even picked up starbucks for my hubby in the ams...I would have no hesitations about sending anyone here for treatment.. I paid 8750 for my surgery and all of the travel to/from san diego and hotel room. He also sends you home with some of the meds you need. Best of luck with your journey. k

Hi ladies... My surgery is the 19th too...with Dr. Aceves. I'm a bit concerned tho..I didnt have a mandatory pre-op diet since i have a BMI of 38...but the only directions i have is Water only from 7am til pre-p tests on the 18th... no other prep...gulp? did I miss an email somewhere? Kris

Hi all, my big day is Nov. 19th with Dr. Aceves...Because i have a BMI of 38 he has only suggested a low carb diet for the week prior. I guess every situation is different due to surgeon and starting weight! I cant wait! kris

Hi... and thanks!..Yes..I am headed to San Diego on Nov. 17th with my love..Our flight gets in from NJ too late to have preop so tests will be on the 18th and surgery on the 19th. After following my insurance rules to the letter for 4 1/2 months..came to the conclusion that if I wanted the surgery within the next 8 months I was going to be self pay. So here I go! I would love to know what you brought with you to make things easier...I've heard gas-x strips, heating pad... I am counting the days! Kris
