    Oregon's weight loss photos

  5. Hi Linda, I've never sent a message on this before. I hope this works. I'm doing good. I haven't signed in to this forum for a while. Have you had your surgery yet? Yes, I was banded in February. Lost 60 something pounds so far. I should be back to my normal size next February I think.

  6. Hi Oregon,

I'm from Southern Oregon and am going through the process to get teh lap band. Have you been banded yet? If so, how do you feel?

    Take care, Linda

    Hair loss

I'm glad to hear that the hair loss stops eventually (I mean, before I run out of hair of course). I started losing alot of hair about four months post op. I used to have long dark hair, but I was losing so much hair, that I had it cut really short. When I went to get it cut, the woman who cut my hair had to excuse herself and go wash her hands because my hair was clinging to her fingers. I was so embarrassed. Now that my hair is so short, it appears that I'm losing less (even though I know I'm still losing the same number of hairs, the hairs are just shorter). I started using K-Pac (a protien pack for hair) every day and that has definetly helped. I will start using the Nioxin shampoo and see if that helps too. I now have a bald spot on the top of my head. If the hair loss gets much worse, I may want to have the band removed. I don't want to look like a cancer patient. Plus, I have to wonder, if my body feels like it can no longer support the growth of hair, what other parts of my body does it feel like it can't support? I'm a bit worried. I will hang in there and wait and see for now.

    Tae Kwon Do

I would like to go back to Tae Kwon Do also. I am worried about getting kicked in the stomach (port/band area). Is there anyone out there who has taken TKD while they had the lap band in place? My doctor says it should be fine, but I worry. I am about 90 days post banding now.
  10. Thank you everyone. I feel better now. I think maybe I'm just a worry wort. It's good to know that some other people can feel the band (and the port).

Ah! Got it! I didn't copy the whole bbCode (part of it was hidden from me/needed to scroll up to see it all). Thank you Kity! Oregon

    ticker thingy

Hi Kity, I've been trying to get my ticker (all ready made and working) on my profile, but when I copy the bbCode, it doesn't transfer into a picture (it remains just text). What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Oregon

    How do you?????

I think it goes in the signature spot, but I'm still trying to figure it out myself.
  14. Aubrie, Yes, if I sit 'wrong' I need to move to make it feel better. I feel the port sometimes too. I'm glad that someone else feels both the band and the port.
  15. I can feel the port too, but it's about three inches away from the spot that I feel. I'm wondering if I'm nuts, or if something isn't right.
