  1. Portola Suzanne changed their profile photo
  2. I was a BMI of 36 and had the surgery, insurance I had even covered it at the time. My insurance has changed and they don't cover anything now so I pay for fills.
  3. I'm there with you all, that last 15 does not want to come off! Part of it is my choices though too. So here we go to making goal this year!!!!! Good luck in all your journeys.
  4. Are you talking about the criteria to have insurance cover you or just have the surgery (self pay)?
  5. I am so sorry you are going through this! But what I can add to others comments is that time will help. I love what the band has done for me and even when I have not been the best bandster it has worked. Hope you feel better soon and in regards to hubby he may be a brat now but when he sees you getting healthy and slim watch what happens then!
  6. Chewing gum also creates the swallowing of air which creates GAS. Gas with our small pouch creates great discomfort so along with the possibility of swallowing the gum you get A LOT of gas.
  7. I am MORE than happy with my choice. It took awhile to reach restriction and that was tough but its the best thing I've done for me!!!!
  8. I had almost forgotten about this I am down to 145.
  9. I can't eat coleslaw anymore my band doesn't like it!
  10. Wow, so ok your refuse to not drink soda, not watch portions and not follow instructions and you think RNY will make is all magically better. I know many RNY patients who have stretched there pouches by drinking soda and eating to big portions. Sorry for being so blunt but I am not sure the band is the problem. Any WLS has risks and complications and rules to follow for success.
  11. I have lap-band because I liked the way the pillows fit around the stomach.
  12. Age 54, BMI 36 joint problems and one other thing can't remember what it was. Approved first time.
  13. My whole first year I struggled because not only did my insurance change (made it hard to pay for fills) but my doctor does not fill aggressively. Then got that last fill and bam what a difference it is no longer a struggle it is just happening. So please continue to work with your doctor. I now can make choices for the most part healthy. Anyway my point is I see people struggling and my heart goes out to them because I was there also. It will happen just keep headed toward the goal and good luck!
  14. Wow!!!!! There are not words to express how I feel right now after reading all of your posts. Jacqui I have marveled at your success and motivation and want to be just like you when I grow up (hee, hee). Please all of you take care of yourselves you have a courage I cannot comprehend. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, please keep us updated on your status! Suzanne
  15. I agree with the rest of the posters, I lost about 40 lbs year one but never was at restriction til now. Now believe me I'm there and it makes all the difference. Not hungry, losing weight and moving forward. Please work with your doctors you ARE NOT a failure it just takes some of us longer than others!
  16. My weight loss has been slow also mainly because after surgery my insurance changed and I could not go in as often for an ajustment. But now that I am at a good spot (in restriction) the weight is coming off faster. You are doing just fine, you are losing and changing your behavoirs. It took me over a year to get here, but here is way betteer than where I was. You have lost 6 lbs per month and that is a good rate. We are supposed to lose betwenn 1 and 2 lbs per week and you seem right on par. Good luck on your journey.
