  1. That's great. I have only had one fill and really don't feel much restriction, although I am definately eating less than before. I hope my second fill gives me the restriction you are experiencing. I am at 230 and still feel like 200 is a far off dream if I don't buckle down.

  2. I like Low Carb Slimfast and the Atkins shake. For more protein I add some protein whey powder in a blender with ice and that realy works for me. If you are allowed, add a banana. The protein powder ups the protein by 20 grams so that really helps.

  3. I also suffer from panic attacks and am on Lexapro. I had a bad experience from the drugs used in surgery. I had a severe reaction to the Vicadin I took when I got home and had to call my doctor. It was the worst attack I have ever had. My doctor told me to stop the medication, take my Lexapro and some Benedryl to counter the reaction. Within a few hours I was feeling better. I still can't be sure if I reacted to the Vicadin or the medication they gave me at the hospital for nausia. The nurse had said that one side effect is anxiety and I was praying I would be fine. I would suggest you talk to your surgeon and let him know you concerns. And know if an attack sets in, you will recover from it. On the upside, I never experienced any nausia.

  4. I was banded on 8/25/09 and I had trouble telling when I was full also. I just measured everything and didn't go over. I made sure I only drank 1/4 cup of the protein drink at a time. After two weeks my doctor told me I could go on pureed foods. Your doctor should tell you at your follow up appointment when you can start the next phase. Good luck on your journey!

  5. The hospital told me to take the outer bandages off after 48 hours but NOT to take the strips off. Those have to come off by themselves. Even if they come loose at one end, let them come off by themselves.

As far as hunger goes, it helps me to know I can drink 1/4 cup every half hour. That seems to help. Especially with the protein shakes. I am 6 days post off. Good Luck!

  6. I totally understand the feeling of helplessness as far as weight loss is concerned. Even if I lose 20, I know from experience that 30 + is gained and after half a life time, that equals 100 over the "ideal". I am scheduled to be banded 8/25/09 and because of my insurance, I had to begin the 'process' of insurance approval 2/2009. I wasn't sure at the time if I would go thru with it but I didn't want to wait until 2010 and wish that I had already started the ball rolling. Now that I have been approved, and failed to lose weight the last 6 months, I know this is the right decision. Maybe taking steps towards banding..just in case you decide on that avenue...would help you feel more in control.
