Thanks for everyone's advice I will use these ideas to help me drink my morning shake I wanted to add my doc didn't give me a choice on the whey protein he has them at his office and he said that was the only kind I could use which of course I didn't like so I thought I will go to sam's and buy some behind his back and buy his so he thinks I am drinking these well he emailed me and said make sure I am drinking his shakes because they have a lot more good stuff I don't want to start off cheating but these shakes are called b-complex and they suck so bad but I will try to stick it out if not I am buying my own brand with similar ingredients thanks for all your help and support

Hey all I just started my pre-op diet today I am having surgery Dec. 18th and go for pre-op testing dec. 12th anyways they got me on whey protein shakes mine is vanilla carmel this morning I could barely drink it at all they let me add splenda and walnuts and said I could add anything I thought would make it taste better besides Icecream can someone please give me some ideas of a way to choke this down please help :help:

oh it is not my surgeon that gave the pills it was my family doc my surgeon wants me off them I will love being free of them because of irregular heartbeat sweats etc thanks for the reply

I have decided to go ahead and have the surgery. I have had the psych exam and consult all my papers sent to the insurance company. I have been waiting about a wk if I am not approved I will appeal twice but after that I am taking out a loan. The surgery would be 14,000 self pay in Nashville,TN so I will do it. I need this tool to change my life,because I have been on diet pills for the last 3 yrs I would lose 70 lbs gain 90 back but they have trapped me. If I go off of them for a wk or more I gain weight like crazy the thing that ticks me about the diet pills is it has been doc supervised and he let this happen.I feel let down because he told me at my last visit I need lapband because my body will gain weight w/o the pills. I hope I can stop anyone else from falling into the diet pill trap because only 4% keep it off for a 5 year time I don't like that result at all... On a happier note I am so excited about lapband it is the answer to the obesity prayer I really believe this thanks everyone for posting on here as it has really help me decide lapband is for me ....:clap2:

Hey I have dengerative disk disease and haven't measured since getting this I measured tonight and found out I am 5'7 now instead of 5'9 like I have been putting for calculating my bmi no docs measured either so that is what I was baseing my bmi on please know one else make this mistake it can be a bad one with the insurance company

I am yet to have lap band I have been waiting on approval for a little over a month. I weigh 265 and am 5'8 I am 22 yrs old been heavy since childhood. I joined a local gym about 4 months ago before considering lap band I weighed 284 when I joined in just over two months I had lost twenty lbs I AM pleased with my gym love the people a variety mostly older people but very little sz 5 or less members that makes me happy. Maybe one day you can find a gym with members more like us. I went to a gym before like the one you metioned I never turned back but maybe this one will be the one for me

Hey all I am 22 married and new to all this my sis in law had gastric bypass but she is almost thirty and has had children I haven't so I want a lapband instead of bypass I have done lots of research on this I am wandering did anyone's insurance pay 4 this surgery I go to the seminar on july 15th anywho my stats are 5'9 and i weigh around 265 just wandering what is the normal weight loss for 20 somethings alot of my research has been on older people so not sure how that will fit with me but the doc I called for the surgery said I need a realistic outlook not sure what that is any help would be appreciated like I said I am new 2 this so any info would be great
