    Too much weight for Banding?

You "keep" all the nutrition that you eat with the SLEEVE too. You will probably want one when you get sick of your band.

    LapBand vs. Realize band

My dr told me the realize band is no better than the other one. He said it hasn't been out as long and that's why the stats are better. Smaller #'s equals smaller problems reported. He also said it's better to let the surgeon choose for you while he's in there because they go by the size of your preop stomach when deciding for you. I went with the VSG because I was afraid of slippage, erosion etc.

    Non Scale Victory (NSV)

That's so great! How nice of you to feed skinny people.

Something I read on that other board

I just find it so humorous because cutting the grelin out CAN really make you forget to eat. That's probably the only memory loss loss I've had but it's still early.:lol0:
  7. Well, I made it through my surgery! I was in the hospital 2 days and the hardest part was no liquids for 36 hrs! I thought I would die. I passed my leak test and was able to drink again. It was harder than a c-section. when i 1sr woke up I thought OMG what have I done? 4 days later I'm feeling great and have a job interview today. I'll be on liquids for 3 weeks, mushies 2 weeks, then I can try to eat some real food. How are you doing? Fill me in. It's been awhile since I heard from you. I hope you are well. Julie

  8. Please do not delay in getting yourself help. If Dr makes you feel bad address it with him. You have a right to treatment and a right to feel like you are being treated humanely. I hope you feel better soon.

From a size 22/24 to a 4/6, Band to Sleeve

Thanks so much Wasa. Your story saved me from getting the band. I was to be banded on 06-18-09. I changed my mind about the band 2 weeks before my band surgery. I will be sleeved tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. Sheesh that was a close call!!!!

any texans go threw Dr. Wade Barker?

From what I hear locally he is one of the 2 best bariatric surgeons in North Texas. The other one is Dr. David Kim. Dr Kim's office says Dr Wade Barker is a fantastic surgeon. If I wasn't going w/Kim I would have chosen Barker. You can also go on OH and search Dr Wade Barker's name. There you can easily find past patients to talk to. Good Luck

Putting whey protein in a blender?

Ok I don't doubt this to be true. What about the already premixed/bottled/ready-to-drink shakes? Do they have broken down protien? Just curious.
