Mynewme... my pre-op is tomorrow and my surgery on 12/28 also! I'm still starving but thank heavens my full liquid diet is only 1 week. Today isn't as bad as yesterday. What was that about arterial blood draw??? *cringes* I hate needles!

I have BCBS and they require the six months follow-up with a Primary Care Physician prior to surgery. SO... I called the dr that I plan to have the surgery with and I'm using a PCM physician that they recommended. That way I know that I'm using someone who is familiar with my doctor and what notations to make. One thing to note, most BCBS plans WILL NOT pay for the PCM visits. My PCM's first visit to 'establish' me as a patient for potential weight loss surgery is $150. Then each follow-up visit is $30.

Also, the Realize band is the new and improved band. The company seems to think that it's ability to last is comparitive to other 'implants' created for better living. This brand was supposedly created because of the slippage, port and balloon problems on the previous brand. Who knows... Worse case scenario, you may have to have it replaced.
