The Rex's deductible can be billed. I just had all my bills (deductibles) set up on payments...hospital (Rex) and the Anesthesiologist. Now the doctor's office is another thing. I had to pay my surgeon's deductible up front. Be specific. Is it the surgeon's office that requires their deductible up front or the other areas (Rex, anethesiologist, lab work, Xrays, etc.)?

Wonderful! That's the good thing about BCBS...they only want two years weight. Good luck with all of the preliminary things. Please udate me as you move along. Congrats!

Just contact your surgeon's office and they will let you know when they have their seminars. Dr. Moran and Dr. Enoch have their meetings on Thursdays. Where are you located Stajin? With Dr. Moran I called and registered for the weekly meeting to make sure that they had enough space (seating) for me on that particular week.
  4. I live in Southeast Raleigh 27610. I work downtown and I have a fitness membership at Life Style Family Fitness on the corner of Six Forks and Wake Forest Road. From time to time I walk at Shelly Lake.

  5. I have a couple of friends that have used or will be using Dr Enochs services and they have been pleased thus far also. So far everything is okay. I have not had any problems eating. I just wish I had a fill so my band could be tighter. I'm been a little hungry lately.

  6. I'm doing very well. Good luck wih you pre-op diet. My energy level has been pretty good. I'm down a total of 26 pounds now. It's been 4 weeks (3 weeks post-op and 1 week pre-op)

I think most people see the surgeon a few days before the procedure to go over everthing and to make sure that you have not gained any weight and to make sure that you are on your liquid diet if you are prescribed one.

My surgeon's office called me when they had received all of my pre-surgery results/eval and gave me a tentative surgery date. Next the submitted my paper work to BCBS and it took about 2 or 3 days for them to call me back with an answer, which meant I had to see the surgeon as soon as possible before the surgery date that they had given me. Everything happened so fast me (less than 30 days).

Wonderful! You are moving right along. Maybe you will have your surgery some time in July.
  12. Hi! I'm in Raleigh also. My surgery was May 29. Who was your surgeon?

  13. Best wishes with your journey. When will you bet started or have you started?

  14. Thanx for the friend request. Are you in Raleigh and did you or are you attending Shaw University? Have you received your band yet?

I completed all my visits/appointments in 24 days. I stared on April 27th and in 24 days I had finished and got approval from BCBS and had my surgery on May 29.
  16. My surgery went great! Not much pain at all, just a lot of gas. I'll be glad when this week is over with clear liquids. I'm not hungry...I would like to add a little more varity to the liquid stage. I'll be glad when Friday arrives so that I can switch to the next phase. At least I can have a protein shake or even some pudding or plain yogurt.

If you have not already, I think you should investigate a little futher. Check with BCBS youself about the in/out of network Phych. Sounds like they want a lot of money to me. Check with another doctor in Raleigh first before you go all the way with Duke.

Her name is Tammie Moore. She is located in Cary. Her number is 467-3831. When they answer just let them know you need to schedule a Lap Band Mental Health Evaluation. My surgeon was Joseph Moran. Do you have any other health issue? Are you diabetic?

My bday was Friday, May 29. I would think you should be able to use someone in network. It makes more sence to do that. Why did you decide to use Duke instead of some one in Raleigh like Dr. Moran or Dr. Enoch? I loved the Psych that I met with. I know several other people that have used her and were very pleased.

Where are you at in NC? I paid $30 for my Psych. She was in network for BCBS. I actually have the State Employee Health plan throught BCBS. My Nutrionist was not covered, but I found one at Rex Healthcare for $55. The max out of pocket that I will pay is $1000 (my co-insurance limit).
  22. I just got banded on May 29th and I live in Raleigh. I'm excited about my new journey. Oh! Welcome to Raleigh. This is my home town and I think you will enjoy it here.
