I really appreciate all of your responses - its everything I need to hear. I am so excited to get the band. I'm praying for the best and I know I have to put my all into it. I've heard stories of people that just think the band is magic and then they fail. I don't want to be lazy with the band - being lazy has gotten me to where I am today!

I am wondering how long it took most people to lose their weight, any weight for that matter. Is there a certain amount I can expect to lose just with the pre-op diet (Optifast)? Thanks!!!

So from what I've been reading it seems like a lot of people lose weight with the band without exercising? Is this true? I am questioning because I have never been able to lose even a pound without exercising a lot. I plan on going back to my gym (that I pay the membership fee for every month without going now I have dreams of being tone and sexy!!! Owww!!! LOL!!!

I have a part time job as a server in the evening along with my real estate. When do you think I can go back to work comfortably if I dont have to carry any trays or anything heavy? What is the usual weight limits to lift? 10lbs? I cant remember. Thanks everyone!!!

I know many people may have asked this before but it would help immensely if you could answer this for me. I am so nervous. I am pre-band and scheduled for June. I cannot help but to think that the complications may happen to me and I will be stuck with the band in my body and want it out. Did any of you feel this way also? Why do you/did you have your band removed?

As I was walking into my part time job this evening I was on hold with my insurance company to see if they received all the paperwork submitted on Tuesday , I noticed my reflection in the mirror - I was devistated - AGAIN!!! The girl I talked to called the nurse/underwriter (?) that does the pre-approvals and told me that the doc could call for the verbal approval before the final one is mailed out. I will call tomorrow to let the doc office know. Once I find out for sure I will post. I was just so hopeful and excited I had to share. Im praying all is good...Im nervous but ready. I am SO looking forward to that reflection being the real me without this fat covering me up!!!

I posted under intros but I figured I'd stop by here too...Im a triplet mom that is waiting for my surgery approval again. I started the process last yr and the doc wasnt in the network. They will be submitting next week - we will see. Keeping my fingers crossed. So ladies, my thoughts are now that the babies are 2 it will be a little easier than last yr when I was originally scheduled - trying to be positive!!! What was your pain like? How long before you could work/carry the babies, etc? Any advise????

Hi everyone!!! I started my journey last year and Im back waiting for insurance approval now that the doc is part of our network. Im excited and nervous. I think of how I could already be skinny if things went well last year but then again our triplets are older and life will be easier I hope after. I am waiting for insurance approval. They are submitting Tuesday.
