  1. Well, as you all know my original surgery (7/20) was delayed because I was sick. I was supposed to be banded this week and over the weekend my dad (not biological but extensive medical history including transplant) was put back in the hospital and now his heart along with his mind it seems is going bad - so cancelled again. I am SO sad for him and cant imagine life without him!!! Since stopping my optifast I back up to 240.8! I need my band so desperately and have to keep waiting. I'm not trying to be selfish but I can't stand living this way anymore! I looked forward to the help the band would give and just want it. I guess I will have to join the August forum. Hopefully soon. Thanks for listening!
  2. I talked to the nurse yesterday. I have to get my allergy thing I have going on now cleared up, go to my reg doc and have him clear me. They will fit me in next week she said. I'm excited again And 1 week of Optifast should be good enough.
  3. Ok...talked to the nurse. She said that with the stomach thing (puking) - nerves or not it was the right thing to cancel. I would have had extreme naseau after the surgery. I have an allergy thing going on. She wants that cleared up & my reg doc to give me clearance from the sickness (he will do today) and they will fit me in next week. One week of strict optifast & I should be ok. Im excited again. :bored:
  4. Thanks a lot for the pep talk! I needed that one! :bored: Im waiting for a call back from the office now. I'll keep everyone posted!
  5. NinaC...Im so glad to hear from you. Sorry that your surgery was cancelled too. I dont know what to do. when are you going to be re-scheduled? We have to keep in touch.
  6. Geez...thanks so much for post. I really appreciate it. Im going to write it down now. Great idea!
  7. I posted this on my July board also. Ok guys...I was supposed to be banded today and I cancelled yesterday. I was so sick I called and left a message for the doc and cancelled. Im a little upset that he never called me back but I guess he was busy. I did receive a couple calls today from the nurse that I didnt get until she was already gone. I will call her first thing tomorrow. I'm so torn and discouraged. I'm upset cause I've been waiting 15 months for this day and it was ruined yet again AND I'm wondering if I should do this. I clearly dont lose the weight on my own & Im sick of being fat/unhealthy BUT was this a sign? I started thinking about the damage/trauma the band will do to my stomach. I could potentially have the lapband (replacements as well obviously through the years) for 50 years if Im lucky to live that long. Can the tissue of my stomach handle that? No one seems to understand why I want this band except for my hubby. Everyone else says, you know what to do, just do it! I KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT I CANT! I NEED HELP! Ok...the venting will stop. Sorry guys. Im just sad about all of this. Ive been crying on and off (in secret). Im probably looking too deep into it. Please give me advise

  9. Thanks for the responses guys! I will remember to drink throughout my shift as I always do I hope. I only work for 4-5 hours max at a time. I hope I'm ok cause I really need the money. Im so nervous about Monday!!!
  10. Does this seem possible to you that have already been banded? My doc said as long as I do not lift any heavy trays I should be fine. Tell me what you think.
  11. Hey greytz...Its funny you say that because a couple of the girls I work with are nursing students and kept saying my sugar was low! I am going to call tomorrow and mention it. I'll tell you when I find out. Thanks!
  12. You guys are awesome! Its so weird how a person can catch you on the wrong day or moment and upset everything! I am confident this is for me. I pray everyday about it. I ask for signs and they all point to help! Im afraid to go to the amusement park before my surgery because Im afraid I wont fit in some of the rides this time. I weigh close to the same that I did last time I went but who knows? What if my butt got bigger? LOL! I wont have this worry next summer!
  13. Thanks for all of your responses everyone! I am eating a little but only chicken and some veggies a couple times. Ive been putting the shakes in the freezer and downing them really cold - helps a lot. The nurse ended up saying it was ok to do.
  14. Sorry for the complaining but here goes... Ok so I started my Optifast diet just yesterday. My diet is supposed to consist of 5 shakes and 1 snack bar per day with NO food. I hate the shakes - I have had to down them through a straw with the babies cheering me on..."go mommy, go mommy!" - they are my biggest fans and supporters!!! Ok so today at my serving job...I got very sick - dizzy, confused, everything seemed fuzzy, weak, clammy, etc. I had to eat a grilled chicken breast then felt much better. Im wondering if this is normal: 1. the diet with no food just Optifast & 2. the way I felt at work???
  15. Im on Optifast!!! $234! And tastes gross - Im just complaining!!!
  16. Im with you both but mine is 14 days also. Im getting a headache now too! Great! Im struggling and debating so many ideas!!! Lapband is the answer everytime!!!
  17. I just started my pre-op diet of Optifast with no food also and I'm struggling already too. Like my hubby and my friends said - they couldn't do it and they have no issues with food. Its very difficult as we knew it would be. No one that needed WLS is perfect in the food department or we would have done it on our own! Please keep reminding yourself (and me) that its necessary and we can do it!!! :tongue_smilie:
  18. Oh my gosh you guys!!! I cannot say how grateful I am for your posts. Your encouraging words help me so much. I really needed to come home and read through these posts after my serving job tonight - there is a lady I consider my friend that said to co-worker (when she asked me why I have to have this surgery) "she doesn't want to diet and exercise". It crushed me even more for a second then I stuck up for myself. I told her that she has no idea what it feels like and I am admitting that I need help. I really do. I've been over 200 lbs since I was 18 yrs old. I keep reminding myself that I have 3 - 2 yr olds that need their mommy at her best!!! Thanks everyone!!!
  19. I was debating whether to post this yesterday but today I feel the same. I am normally a VERY positive person - I make most of my friends annoyed seeing the positive in anything I can. I went in for my pre-op testing. After sitting through all of pre-op testing stuff I started to feel very discouraged. Here's why: Self disappointment - I know exactly what to do without the band. The dietician sat there explaining how to eat - normal food, normal portions after we have our bands. At first I was all for it then I started getting down on myself thinking.. 'you have a great life, perfect babies but you just can't stop eating! Now you have to get surgery to control yourself.' I was pretty disgusted with myself to say the least! I'm almost doubting my choice and wonder if I should cancel my surgery? :tongue2: I keep telling myself I'm not alone and someone out there felt this way. Any encouraging words would help immensely...
  20. My surgery is July 20. I'm trying to get everything in line but I'm not sure what to bring with me. The normal essentials & pjs? Do you have to keep your gown on? What should I bring to wear home? I'm so unsure of how my belly is going to feel...I don't want to be unrealistic of what I can comfortably wear. Thanks everyone!!!
  21. My surgery is scheduled for July 20. I had a c section for our triplets and did very well. The babies came home the day after I did and I was able to care for them with my hubby with no additional help. What would you say? Is the lapband pain comparable? Easier? Harder? Thanks!
  22. LOL! I have to ask you a question...how did you chose the allergen band? That's the one I chose since its been around the longest and the port is easier to access for my doc.
  23. Here's my short and sweet story... I'm 33 yrs old, the mother of 2 year old BGB triplets - they are perfect in every way! They deserve a healthy mama and they are going to get it!!! I started high school a size 8 at around 145. Slowly but surely gained throughout graduating around 190. Within a couple months of graduation I went to 235. I havent been under 200 since high school - 15 yrs ago! I've dieted with exercise and lost but always gained something back. My high was 275. At my wedding to my high school sweetheart I was 265 - it hurts to look at the pics cause of that. I'm currently 240. Can't wait until my surgery July 20!!! My goal weight with my doc is 150-155. I'd take skinnier if I can get it
  24. Hey everyone!!! I'm being banded on July 20 also!!! I can't wait!!!
  25. Wow Jodi! Thanks for the inspiration! You've done great! Do you have any before/after photos?
