    Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

    What a GREAT DAY!!! I am at my half way mark!!! :thumbdown: I have 40 more pounds to go!!! I started this journey on 7/11/06, lost my way till April of this year. (thought I could do it myself ) I started at 225, at surgery I was 208 (only due to that darn 2 week liquid diet-oh that was hard). When I came to my senses in April this year I was at 205. I've lost 20 pounds in 5 months, that's an average of 4 pounds a month! :tongue_smilie:YA ME!!! I also want to thank all of you for being here and logging in, blogging and for the chat line. LB has been a life saver! I'm so happy to have gotten this GREAT TOOL! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1,253 calories (earned 383 from walking, could have used 1,583 calories today) B/Pan freid egg, O'brien potatoes, 16oz homemade tea (140 Calories) s/Tyson's Teriyaki chicken 1 breast (140) L/Hard boiled egg salad (.5T mayo & relish), 16oz hmd tea (128) s/Chdr Chz 1oz & 15 Ritz Crackers (350) Oh the crackers where sooooo good :sad: D/1.5C Wanchai Ferry-Cashew Chicken, 16oz hmd tea (495) Had one more 16oz tea. This last tea gets me to my 8 glasses of liquid for the day. Zumba tomorrow!!:thumbdown:

    I'm Half Way There!

    I hit my half way mark today!!! :thumbup: I am so happy! :thumbup:I have 40 more to go. :wub: Since I've been keeping my food dairy at myfitnesspal.com it has made it easier to count the calories now. I used to hate doing it. I also keep track of my exercise workout there. It has really helped keep me on track with my food. I was keeping a dairy of just the food I hate, not the amount or calorie count. You could say it was a practice run till I could find a website that meet my needs. I'm still working out twice a week in a Zumba class (LOVE IT :wub:) and I want to start back up in my water aerobics class too. Now with school back in I need to work that into my schedule. I have an appointment w/my doctor this week but I think I'm going to push it back a few months to (last fill was in July) see if I continue losing easily. :thumbup: I've heard that as you lose you need it tighter to keep your sweet spot--right now I like how tight I am.     My "last supper"

    Oh I wish I was with you, it sounds good! I was on liquids for 2 weeks before surgery and I could have died. But I did lose 18 pounds for my pain and suffering.

    I ask for a kid size or coffee cup full of water and a few lemons. This way they leave me alone. I may sip from it if I need it. But usually I leave it full throughout the meal.

    Hello Everyone

    GOOD JOB!! Size 10, oh how I want to see that size again. Currently at a 16/18 (was at a 20/22). I know that I too will have tummy issues after having 2 c-section and the weight gain. I'll tackle that when I get to my ultimate goal. Thanks for posting, it’s great to hear good news!

    Back to work

    Good job on the weight loss!!! Keep it up. Look on line or here for alternative sweet snacks that are better for you. If you like cupcakes, I’ve made some that are under 100 cal a piece. You only get the calories from the mix. (Take a cake box mix of any kind not cupcake box, instead of using the added ingredients that they want, use a can of soda (reg or diet), I added 3 carob chocolate chips in each cupcake too. Cook it up as the box states and vwala you have a homemade diet cupcakes) Remember to bring snacks to work so you don’t go to the office machine or the lunch truck that might come by! (if you do have a lunch truck; ask them if they can cook something healthy for you?) Being tight in the AM: I too am tight and what I’ve done is drink first before I eat. Either cold or hot right as I get up. I get it ready the night before. Get up, go to fridge and pull out the drink. I drink 4 to 6oz before I eat. It usually is a half hour that goes by before I eat.

    thoughts

    These are thoughts that a lot of us have had. It's just part of the "head game" that will go on during your new life change. When will you be banded? You need to stand up to your Dad and ask him to stop it! You do have will power, you are going to make a change for the better (maybe not the way he wants but it's not him who is here...it's you!) We believe in you... You need to believe in yourself too. LB will help, as you help youself. It's only a tool, not the golden diet of all diets. You have to want this, want to work with it, want to make the life change that comes with it too! Good luck and keep us posted.

B/Qkr Instnt Oatmeal-Maple & Brn Sugar, Crystal light pkt (190 Calories) s/Ralph's sweet & Salty Chewy granola almond bar (170) L/Chz burger w/lettuce, onion,chdr chz, McDonald's Chipotle BBQ Sauce, chips/sour cream & onion (379) s/Big Train Mocha Cappuccino Mix, 20 carob chips, 5oz coffee - homemade frap :thumbdown:(202) D/white rice 1/4c, Tyson's chkn teriyaki breast, 1/2 corn on the cob (368)

Chin up, breath, step back and count to 10 and then walk back in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yesterday 1,368 Calories (walked @ wrk for 1.75 hrs, that was my exercise for the day) B/FF French Vanilla Yogurt w/.25 bannana & 1T grape nuts s/Crab Salad w/mayo & relish L/Hormel Compleats Chkn Alfredo w/Penne pasta (won't get this again-didn't taste all that good), 1/2 c grapes D/BallPark Angus Hotdog chili dog w/chdr chz, mustard, onion, bun & 15 tator tots w/ketchup Had 9 glasses of liquid ______ Today 1,395 Calories (went shopping w/my DS for 4.5 hrs) B/PAM fried egg, .5 plan mini begal w/Can't believe it's not butter spray, aged swiss chz L/Crab salad w/mayo, relish and onion, slice of aged swiss chz s/(while shopping) General Mills Chex Mix: Strawberry Yogurt x2, Cheddar x1.5 D/Chz burger on flour tortilla w/thousand island, pickles, onion, Cheetos snack bag Had 8 glasses of liquid I've been teetering between 186-189 for a week now. I want to get past the 186.

    Zumba today! :thumbup: 6:45/B ff French Vanilla Yogurt, 1/4 bannana, grape nuts 10:30/s Ralph's Sweet & Salty Almond Chewy Bar, Crystal lite pkt 1:15/L Crab salad (mayo & relish) 1:45/s Frigo string cheese-x2 5:30/D Swiss chz burger, onion, thousand island dressing, lettuce, pickles, tater tots x6 w/ketchup, crystal lite pkt May have a snack later 8 cups of liquid for the day as of now. Might do 2 more before bed. Earned 684 extra for exercise today Calorie used 1,309 (had 1,884 to use)

    WELCOME! YES! Way to go! 7cups liquid, exersice for 2hrs (walked dogs & then went to the bay and walked the dogs again and the kids!) Earned 310 extra cal B/scrambled egg, chdr chz, 1/2 mini plan bagel, coffee w/creamer & splenda s/EAS Premium Protein/Choc, 1c 2% milk, s/ff French Vanilla Yogurt 1/2c, 1/8c Grape nuts L/Immitation crab salad w/noodles (mayo & relish) Bad on calories but oh it tasted soooo good! s/dorritros cool rch chips (snack size) D/Repeated lunch:drool: s/Big Train Mocha Cappuccino Mix w/cold coffee, 20 carb choc. chips (homemade frap :blush:) Went over my expected calories for the day (1200 + 310 = 1,510) over by 587 Can't do so many noodles next time:blushing:

    B/scrambled egg w/chdr chz, coffee w/coffeemate creamer and sugar s/1c 2% milk w/EAS premium protein (choc) L/Ralph's Sweet & Salty Almond Bar, 1 pkt crystal light s/carrot, broccoli, radishes, dressing (2T) D/Beef chuck tenders (PB--waited a few and then finished), Crystal Light pkt. Zumba for an hour, 1.75 walking around playground at school (wrk) 8c liquid 863 calories This was our first day back to school. It went better then I thought it would. I kept food w/me while out so I wasn't hungry. :thumbup:

    I'm also 3 yrs out and working on it. You've done a great job in the past so there's no reason why you can't again.

    I rec'd my fill last month and have already lost 8 pounds! Reminding myself to chew, chew, chew still get's me into trouble. :(

    I tried to keep a food dairy before, but found it to be to time consuming, this time I am and it's helping a lot. In the past I never did calorie counts either, took to much of my time with four kids in toe. But I've found an easy one if you're interested? (click on my ticker). I'm not entering food left and right to make it work. As a matter of fact, I just entered my first food item since I started working with it and that was easy too.

    Finally restriction

    Okay a new change is coming! You know what it is; chew, chew and then chew some more! You may find that liquids or muchies are better for the first few days to a week. I'm still a member of the clean your plate club: Maybe use a small plate to put your food onto? This way portion control will be easier. Remember protein first. :smile2: Oh ya; food is not the only thing you can get stuck on. If you guzzel down your liquids...watch out!

    I've been told that as we drop weight, our band becomes loose and that's why we may need the fill. With your current weight lose (good job!), this fill could be it, maybe the sweet spot! I still think I could use just a bit more. We'll see on the 15th if I get more or not. Great news on the headaches! Tucking; oh my, I still can't believe what I saw and so ture, the camera never lies. A capture in time can tell a million stories,,,and mine was not a nice story Just loved the look of your post. It made me think, smile and laugh as I read it. My day started out like that too! Never really got back on track. Chips, cookies, and a real soda (haven't had one of those in months). Dinner was ok; leftovers- a Hamburger Helper. I hope that by the weekend I'll be better. I will be doing MY grocery shopping and getting my foods back in order. I find that I become lazy when I start getting low on my own groceries. School starts next week too. I hope this will help me, won't have to feed all the kids all day long. Need to get control again! Sorry I'm going on an on, I need to voice it, hear it, own it and learn from it. Thank you everyone for being there!

Keep up the good work, we're here for you! Glad to hear that FIL is better. I hope your headachs have gone too. How was the workout? I've been finding it hard to post with it being so hot here in CA. I just eat, drink and sit around. To hot to have the lap top in my lap. Today: B/Pam fried egg, 1/2 mini plan bagel w/"I can't believe it not butter" spray, later a 1/2 cup 2% milk s/ 2 choc. chip cookies, 1 Ralph's Sweat&Salty Almound Granola Bar, later 20oz water w/2 crystal lights L/1oz hamburger wrap w/mayo, mustard, ketchup, 3 pickles, 1oz chdr chz, later another 20oz water w/2 crystal lights D/3 Reg Del Taco's w/white souce and onions 2 more 20oz waters w/crystal light 1,557 cal P.S. I have for years tucked in my shirts in just about everthing I've worn. I thought I was showing off my waist. Well my son took a picture of me today and OMG, I'm not going to wear my shirts like that again--unless I have an over shirt or jacket to go w/it. I have a pear shape and my lower tummy was out more than I had thought. I need to learn how to dress! I don't like having my picture taken, but have been getting better since I have been losing weight again.

    feeling a pinch

    thebandinmarie-If I remember right, it didn't happen much while sitting. Most of my pain was while I was in the shower and was either shaving or cleaning my left leg or if I’d bend to the left to pick up something. It took a good 6 months to not jolt when I felt the pinch, it would hurt so much. Then it just became a bother doing just about anything on my left side when I would bend over. I believe it really was a year before I stopped noticing it. Since I’ve been losing weight again and working out (Zumba—don’t know about it! Oh you should, IT’S GREAT!) I’ve noticed I can feel it as I run my hand across it. I’m hoping it won’t POKE out more as I lose weight but still no pain. I hope this answers your question.
