    1 Year Ago Today

Happy Bandversary to you Best wishes imaluckydog
  3. It is sort of funny that I have had to have three un-fills and I have less than 4 cc in a 10 cc band. At one point I had about 7 cc. in my band. I am the nervous type and give myself restriction just by worrying about everything.

I love Michael Pollens work, you can tell. I know I did not quote him exactly, but when I got off all the processed foods, and pre packaged foods and eat foods that are not more than 5 ingredients my weight dropped so fast. I cook almost all my own foods. I am like a week end iron chef and make food to eat all during the week and I even freeze a lot of what I make.

I hope you can find someone to give you a fill soon. How have you been making out so far? Have we been banded about the same amount of time?

I just started water exercise two weeks ago 3 X a week. I call it the whale watch. To see me in a bathing suit is quite ridiculous. I fit right in. I sleep so well too. Thanks for keeping in touch and being friends with me. Best wishes. imaluckydog

  4. Hi Thanks for thinking of me. It really made my day when I got the note from you. I have lost a ton of weight with this tool. I am now at what I call my lowest. I am not sure my body will want to lose any more unless I work harder for it. I am sort of liking where I am and it has taken a good long time getting here. I have not gained either. I can eat almost anything I want. I just need to eat less of everything. I have had some ice cream but it does not make me feel very good it might be the high fat content. Any way I eat mostly real food not too much and mostly plants with protein first and it works for me. I hope all is well with you. I am now 16 months into the journey and feel really good. I am at 147 on most days and go up to 150 and down so I am up and down but never more than a few pounds. Maybe this is my set point. I will be happy with this for the rest of my life. I love my LB and new way of life. Hope all is well with you? Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy ;-)

    Crazy for Corn Chips???

Take one moment at at time. Breathe...... Have a planned serving size portion and enjoy them. If you have more they will never taste as good as the planned for serving size. Then the vicious cycle begins a again. You have a wedding to think about. Best wishes imaluckydog

Hi, Thanks for the note it means so much and you made my day ;-) My kids said it was the best weekend they have had in a long time and to see me bungee jumping was the highlight of the week end LOL. Best wishes to you on your journey to a healthier YOU I was banded June 29, 2009, and I weighed in at over 250 pounds. I was a mess. I am a size 10 today and people call me skinny. Go figure skinny. I have NEVER been skinny in my life. I have had a wonderful LB journey as I am sure you will too. Make the most of it every day and be happy! The soreness does go away it took almost two weeks for me to feel better after my surgery as it is MAJOR surgery! Rest up and take time to heal yourself. This is all about you NOW. Remember you are healing from the inside out. The weight will come off don't worry about that. Follow all the Band rules and blogging is one of the BEST things that helped me get to where I am today. I love this site. I never eat at my computer it is a NO FOOD zone. Best wishes and keep blogging Oh and I have lost 110 pounds as of today and have kept it off, I feel great and even went mini bungee jumping with my college age kids two week ends ago. I know I lost most of my weight because I used this site and learned so much from others, helps you keep the focus on yourself by yourself. In control, maybe for the first time ever!

Yaaa for you and keep up the excellent work with your band. It does come off slow and sometimes so slow it seems like a crawl. I was also in the 260's over a year ago and I now weigh 147. Yup, lost over 100 pounds and I have never been so happy in my life. Size 10 in most clothes. I love to shop now and I am poor because I buy everything that I love because everything fits now. Best wishes and enjoy your journey. imaluckydog

can't stay on the diet...not losing weight !!

This is a tough one. What do we want more? I want thin. To be thin I need to eat less, eat REAL food, Not too much mostly plants with PROTEINS first. I wish you all the Best. It is hard I agree. Be honest with yourself, get back on track it is ok to make mistakes, learn from them. Best wishes imaluckydog
  19. imaluckydog

    Extreme Craving!

Lets face the facts here!!! It's NOT REAL. It is not a real food. I know what you are experiencing and it stinks, it is so hard, and our minds are so strong. I was banded June 29, 2009. I have NOT had a soda or carbonated drink since that day. Over a year. Yes, I miss it sometimes. It took about 2 weeks maybe a little longer to be free of the cravings. I wanted one just like you do. It was like a drug for me. It is NOT real. The sooner you are free of all the chemicals in the convenience products the BETTER you are going to be. I have lost 110 pounds and I eat REAL FOOD, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. You will have Success if you follow the rules. Best wishes on your Journey Just say NO one soda thought at a time. Best wishes imaluckydog

    That doggone Crunch n Munch!

I agree, Crunch and munch can't be that bad!! Don't let a little snack food control how you feel. Do not give it such power. I think it great you can allow yourself a snack. You have work so hard and nothing should have that much negative power. I love chocolate and I make sure I have some when I need it. I just make sure I enjoy every tasty morsel. I hope you will be able to enjoy snacks someday. Everything in moderation. Best wishes imaluckydog

It's Been Two Weeks Post Surgery

The weight will come off when your body will let it go. Just keep following the band rules. I did not lose much at all the first month. I also gained after surgery your body is adjusting. You are still healing so pamper yourself and try not to focus on the pounds. Focus on living and finding fun things to do with the new you. Before you know it the pounds will disappear. Keep busy and walk. Eat small to be small. Best wishes imaluckydog

    Newbie

Hello everyone, all such great help and all newbies need support. I am hearing what wonderful information your are giving. Yes, you can eat what ever you want within limits. I have been banded over a year now and I am keeping off 110 pounds. I did stop drinking all soda, my choice. Our body just does not need it. It was about 2 weeks and I never thought about it again. I do NOT drink anything with my meals. This is so so so important. I stay fuller longer. I need to be on a schedule because I never get hungry. I need to nourish myself with REAL food, not too much, mostly plants with PROTEINS first. Eat small to be small. If it comes to you thru the window of your car it is NOT real. So important to practice small chewing. Putting the fork and knife down to rest and eating slowly are all great practices. We will eat less and get more full and more satisfaction from eating and tasting our food. I miss eating fast. I miss eating Large quantities of food at one time. I miss feeling over stuffed. I do not miss being morbidly Obese and having a BMI of over 40. I love my new clothes and my new figure and all the great comments I get now I am a size 10. I am so grateful to everyone on this site that helped me when I was a Newbie. Best wishes everyone imaluckydog

    Officially Banded!!

You will do well. Just keep moving and the loss of appetite is normal for many. I still need to make myself eat. I just think it is band placement and I love never being hungry. Just get on a schedule and nourish yourself and follow the rules. Please go easy the first few weeks your insides are healing and that takes some time. Glad to hear all is well and the journey has begun for you. Best wishes imaluckydog.
