I know what I can eat and how long it will take me. I make much better choices around my food now. Nothing is going in my pie hole I do not LOVE LOVE LOVE the taste of.... I need a fill too. I just LOVE you and glad to hear almost all is well. Thinking of you. imaluckydog kathy

Excellent!!! The stuck feeling is the worst ever!!! I have only had it three or four times that I can remember. I do remember each one. Darn I just do not want to feel that stuck feeling again. You are awesome I must say. I am taking life a little slower these days. Clean paws and proud of it. Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

I am having to have physical therapy for my knee, getting into a suit was hard at first I just did it and I am feeling so much better. Hang in there it is sure to get better soon. I have been there just recently myself. Have a flush day and get back on track. That is what my nurse told me. One day back on liquids is just enough to set the mind straight again. Also blog a little more that has helped me a ton. We can do this together. Best wishes for a feel good day sooner than you think. imaluckydog

    No Energy

Hi I did have the same issue around week 2 to 5. Best to talk to nutritionist or doctor like I did. They both told me to have a glass of skim or low fat milk before bed and eat chewable vitamins like the Finstone kind. I was also tried and had no energy. They said Up the protein at each meal 10 grams more if I need too. So far So good!!! I just takes me longer t eat it all. I am excersing at least once a day and it has helped me. I am now at the end of my seventh week post op. I feel great and have had no problems. Best wishes to you. imaluckydog

    What a week!

Keep up the Great Job!! Focus on yourself and others will notice and ask how to be healthy as well. I am also a care giver and this is the time I learn to give to myself LB is hard enough. Get the cupboards empty with (ugh ugh ugh) do not let it back in once it is gone or it may creep as it did into my mouth. I have only had one fill so far and I am going on the 26 th for my second. My life has changed so much because I have made better choices. Other around me are healthier as well now. Only allow those better choices into your HOME!!!! Lets be friends together in this journey. Best wishes and keep up the good job. imaluckydog

    Cigna

I have only told four people, My husband, daughter ,son and sister who had GBPS 7 years ago. They will tell no one else and I have told no one. I just do not need any more people asking me questions like I read about on these pages. Yata, yata, yata!!!!! I read where people ask how much have you lost so far? How much did you loose today? How much do you want to loose? What do you eat? Why can't you just loose weight like everyone else? I want it to be about me and my health. If people want to say wow you look great I am all for that. I just do not want my private life exposed. I am with you on not telling a lot of people it is none of their business. imaluckydog
  12. Hi Everyone, I have just read all the posts from our beginning. Hard to believe we are all about 7 weeks post op now. So Cool isn't it. I would like to know how everyone is doing thus far? Have we all had at least one fill? I have lost almost 50 pounds. I said almost 3 ounces away. I still have some really good days and I do make a few poor choices. I have found I cannot eat after 7 p.m. or I wake up with heart burn in the middle of the night. This is Not such a very good feeling. I still do not burp but I have gas all the time. Lets hear how our journey has been thus far. I would do it over again if I had too. Oh Happy day!! I look forward to hearing from anyone banded on June 29 or near that date. Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

update, 3rd fill done, 26 lbs lost in 2 months

Hi, I had the same blueberry muffin experience about three weeks ago. Very big mistake, I thought I was going to die. It must be the flour or something that get stuck to sides of walls. I do not ever drink any more at meals. I used to drink so much at meals I'd even have 2 to 3 glass of whatever. I seem to get fuller on protein first, veg second and the fruit is usually by itself because I can never seem to get it in during a meal. Sounds like you are doing great. Keep it up. Best wishes. imaluckydog

    How much have you lost?

If you really want to loose you will need to pay close attention to what and how much you are eating. Make the band work for you. I know people who have made the wrong food choices and have gained pounds and loose way to slow. LB is an amazing tool. What you said bottom "I’m a little on edge because I’m thinking that I’m going to have pay close attention to how much I eat. I can’t wait until September when I get my next fill." Why wait until September and be on edge for a few more weeks make better choices and get the water in the band will work for you. Play together as a band. Best wishes. imaluckydog
  15. Hi, You will be as successful. I am curious how much protein your nutritionist wants you to eat? I always eat my protein first no matter what kind of protein it is. I do not eat white soft bread or rolls. I have found I do not do well with grilled red meats or grilled pork, even if I chew, chew, chew, to beat the band. Those food just do not sit well with me. The key is eat slower than you think you need too and drink just as slow. When your body heals you will be able to go a little faster as your body adjusts. I had lunch at a friends house yesterday. I am not telling anyone so I had to really concentrate on going slow. The hostess served Philly cheese steak. I did ok. I am here for you if you have any questions. Have a great day. My continuing saga

Hi Michele, Congratulations this is a SUCCESS STORY. I can relate to what you said about "high blood pressure, high cholesterol, was on 2 different types of pain pills for my back and knee and was on a CPAP machine for Sleep Apnea." I am only seven week post op. I am doing well. I have lost about 48 pounds to date, I have over 100 to loose. I am trying to use the band as a tool. Now that I am feeling better, I go to the gym and exercise and that is making me feel even better. I never thought I would say I like exercise. When did you get off the C pap machine I am so interested in getting rid of that. Thanks so much for sharing. Kathy imaluckydog
  17. Hi, I do not own a scale. If I did I would be on it 24-7. I was told not to get my head in the numbers. I have over 100 pounds to loose. I have been weighed about 4 times once Post surgery Dr. visit. Weighed at two weeks, then at week 5 and now week 7. I have lost 48 pounds. Now that is GOOD!!! I do not know if some weeks I did not loose? I am just looking at it as one BIG SUCCESS picture. I made a decision that has changed my life. You will loose if you use the Band as a tool the way it is intended. Eat what and how much, you are supposed to, don't forget the water, and when you feel better start walking or exercise. I just know you will do well. I usually walk about 30 minutes. Keep me posted. Kathy imaluckydog

  18. Hi, I just sent you a friend request. Have a great day. imaluckydog Kathy

    Help! I have some questions.

Hi, I am seven week post op. I still feel NEW. I had so many questions like you when I started my journey DOWN stream. I found myself reading every blog out there. I agree with elcee above. On the FOURM pages click on post op and post a question and people will respond to your specific question. This is a way to get your answer rather quickly. You are able to check back and see it others have posted to your question. Lots of information there. Also make friends with people and ask them to be friends with you. You can send private messages to others if you wish. Tons and tons of info on this site almost overwhelming. I know there are other sites out there but I have only used this one. I have had so much success in my past seven weeks and I have never been happier in my life. It took me almost two weeks to fully recover so take your time and follow your orders to the letter for your own safety and health. Best wishes and if you have any specific question I can try to help, just ask. imaluckydog Kathy

Merrily, Merrily, Merrily Life is but a DREAM!!!!

Life is but a Dream!!! Row, Row, Row, your boat gently down the stream... Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, life is but a DREAM...... I am happily seven weeks post op. I have had some very, very, very good days and only two days I care to forget!!! I went to the Nutritionist today and the first thing she did was weigh me. Yippee DOWN, DOWN, DOWN. She even had the nerve to ask me if I was eating. I told her I was and that it takes me about 45 minutes to eat. Yes, I do belong to SWA. (Scale Whore Anonymous) You must know that club??? Well I am the member that weighs her shoes at home on a fish scale, so I know how much to take off when I get there. I am on the better than average weight loss track she said to me. That must mean I am doing well!!! I feel WELL!!!!! I guess that means I’m DOWN my stream just a little more than everyone else!!!!! I am DOWN but not enough for my head. I wanted MORE.. I tell you MORE..... Going Down my stream has been a DREAM, yes I am singing Merrily along. I get my next fill August 26, so I will Row, Row, Row my boat a little faster now. I am so close to wonderland/onederland but not DOWN enough. My goal is to be DOWN there by August 26. Going to the GYM in the AM to get the old body moving. I am going everyday now to the gym. Switching up the time of day may help me move faster down my stream. I must admit I feel so much better today and I am enjoying the gifts of Happiness. I am allowing myself to feel the breeze in my face as I Merrily roll down my STREAM. imaluckydog who is not afraid to swim.

    Big fat cheater

DISCRIMINATION at it's best!!! You handled it well. I think this STUPID, INSENSITIVE, JUDGMENTAL, instructor should have their mouth washed out with my pooh!!! Just who do they think they are?????? I am so proud of you not only for standing up and being so mature BUT to report that persons smelly pie hole. If you could you should give that person a piece of your mind, the strength to put closure to it and confront this person and make sure they will never talk about you to anyone else again. Heck you will be working out there again and this kind of discrimination needs to end. NOW!! If this is a respectable place no one should speak about anyone like that to anyone else!! Can you tell I've got my hair raised on my back. You have just hit a sore spot for me. I have chosen not to tell anyone except my close family and I feel you have sealed my lips forever. I want to join and GYM and no way do I want anyone talking about me. You did the right thing to report them. We are on a very hard journey and it is no less hard than anyone else. Best wishes and you will be in my thoughts to day. imaluckudog KATHY
  24. Hi my Little Band Buddy, How are you? I am up early today going the work and then to the nutritionist. I am keeping my food down Thank goodness. After my fill I had such problems. I now take almost 45 minutes to eat my almost 3/4 cup of food usually protein. Then I get the fruit in about half an hour later. I am curious how you made out after your first fill? I do not get another until August 26. Just thinking about you. Kathy imaluckydog
