Thanks, riley - I'll pop out & get latte. There's only fast food restaraunts around here so I think I'll wait to have lunch when I get home. There is a KFC - they have the new grilled chicken but i don't what it's marinated in - I think I'll google it. Although, still not sure if I trust myself to eat out LOL I thought about you this morning as I was walking up those flippin hills - I don't have any clue how you do those hikes!!

Good morning ladies - Any of you eat out while on the pre op diet? I made my breakfast & lunch to go this morning and wouldn't you know it I ran out the house without it! I won't ba anywhere near home till about 3:00. Since I didn't eat breakfast, I'm still not hungry & know I won't be till about 1:30 or so, I can wait till I get home to eat but I know I'm not suppose to skip meals. Any suggestions??

If you cook it right, Tina, it really tastes like pizza - mine was a little thick in the middle so the outter side was pizza for sure but the center was a little soft - LOL gotta be sure to spread it on the thinner side & evenly. Sometimes I use the finely chopped (so it looks like rice) cauliflower and put it in my stir fry like rice - it's a great substitute.

Hey Riley jane - It turned out good - would've been great if I could cook - I didn't quite spread it out even & made it a little to thick but good all the same! I posted the recipe in our group site recipe section - let me know how yours turns out Cauliflower is the low carb/low calorie bandsters best friend

Tina I'd love to get together for a fitness day - just hope I don't slow you down - we can even meet half way! maybe we should arrange a monthly fitness group Riley, I'd love to do a marathon but don't i'm quite there yet LOL. Not even close! a few more baby steps & maybe - I can't even jog yet at all hahaha i did get up and take my power walk alone today - I enjoyed just groovin to my ipod but I found myslef slacking - I had to keep reminding myself to pick up the pace! Gonna take some practice but at least I got in 5077 steps. I only did 1 of the 2 hills that I usually do - shhhh, don't tell my husband !!! Gonna try to make this cauliflower "pizza" crust today - I'll let you guys know how it turns out

Oh Donna, the hills are mountains & I just don't get why i have to walk up them! I am so not the energizer bunny - this morning we walked 5234 steps. My thighs & feet hurt along with my back (stupid boobs!) Riley, now i get what you're saying about enjoying YOUR time alone walking - this morning I had no energy & didn't want to walk, let alone be chatty along the way -would've been nice to slap on my Ipod cruised. Although, i know I don't have the motivation in me just yet to pull all this walking off on my own - Hopefully, when I can walk our route without feeling like I'm in Hell I will begin to enjoy it and look forward to it as you do! Regie, you've been losing so well you have to know that this lttle hick up is just your body adjusting to this foreign object that has just been inserted - It don't have time to burn calories just yet while it's trying to figure out how to get rid of this alien You'll be right back on track asap. congrats, insideout, on your 7lbs!

Great Pics, Tina! Stupid pre-bander question... What's the shoulder pain all about? Also, having a very hard time eating protein first - I like it mixed.. Omelets, stir fry, things like that - so how important is this to do?

Starting my journey
No shame Heather!! Everybody has some addiction or quirk - some demon to deal with - ours just happens to be food/weight! You don't have to do it on your own!! It takes a village to raise a child - meaning we all need help & support. This is harder than being an alcoholic or drug addict, if you ask me. try giving a crack head 3 rocks or an alcoholic 3 drinks - 1 for breakfast, lunch & dinner & see if they can stop! They don't have to drink or do drugs to survive but we still gotta eat! We can't just forego it like they can!!!! You are well on your way, girlfriend!!

Good for you for addressing this once & for all. Who cares if he's blaming it on you - everybody knows the truth given his past. the compay has to transfer you or fire him if you choose to tell them the situation. Don't worry about your job becuase you sound really good at it. Give me his number, I'll call his wife - LOL. I'm sure he'll leave you alone now. hey, I've got an idea - you could borrow my hubby for a "lunch date" I'll have him come to your job - my old boss got intimidated by him - he's 6' & muscular. That would keep that old fart away. LMAO Time for my evening walk - Grrr! sometimes I'd like to just lock my husband in a closet and go on about my business!

you go Heather - I ain't mad at cha! So sorry, tina - that really puts you in a bad situation. wish i had some words of wisdom but when that happened to me at work many years ago it wasn't a supervisor & I just had him fired LOL. Don't let it ruin your success - it seems as if he'd be on you weather you were big or small! Any way you can go over his head?

I'm gonna print this out & show it to her!! SMART LADY. I truly hope she gets a grip on it before it gets way out of hand!! And ur right, her body has compensated - she can eat ANYTHING - even sweets & alcohol - no dumping symptoms. I'll find an RNY support group for her. And, Tina, you better get use to that male attention, girl - i don't see it going away any time soon - It must suck to be beautiful

Hey sheena, glad you're up & about! I will note the crystal light popsicles for future reference should I ever get my band date! good grief, jane, what an ordeal. I wonder how they determine who gets how many cc's at a fill - do they xray or something. I've walked 6700 steps today (purposeful ones - i took it off after each walk) i don't know how you do It, I feel like I've been walking all damn day. got one more route to do tonight - sticking to the regular 3500 step route because me legs hurt Gotta find a way to talk my husband out of the gigantor (the hill) Ok, tina - we need to get together to do some scale shopping! Looks like riley was able to unlock hers LOL. I downloaded the nike fit build your endurence workout mix so I can put it on my Ipod - its mostly hip hop & upbeat - nicole, there is a spanish section on it for you  Anyway, if anybody wants a copy I can try to email it to you - maybe not cuz it's 45 minutes long so I don't know if it will go but I can certainly put it on cd's and send them to you or bring them to the next meeting. Christine, this would probably be perfect for you with your tread mill! Gonna see if i can find another one for the baby steppers  I have a friend to had the RNY 6 years ago and with the pregnancy of her, now 18 month old son, she's gained about 45 lbs and is devistated. Any words of wisdom I may borrow to help her out? She just says i don't understand cuz I "haven't gone to the extreme of surgery just to fail" She's only a size 14 now but was a 9/10 - at sugery she was a size 28.

thanks Riley, when i grow up I'll get a big girl pedometer 900 seems to be working for me right now - I've only lost two pounds this week but at least I'm finally heading in the right direction - I still think Weight watchers rigged my scale to not work with any other diet - maybe it's time to get rid of the weight watchers scale & get a new one LOL Ooh, my legs are sore! a good sore, though! Have a great one, ya'll!!

Tina, tried to see your album but It's not visible. I will try to get some pics up - It was hard enough to get a profile pic up - LOL

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Go Riley! 80 pounds is amazing!!!! You will be in onederland by the 21st, no doubt. So, my pedometer is a sportline and it does tell me the miles. wearing this thing really helps because I extended our walk this morning. our usual route is 3508 steps and we do it once in the morning & once in the evening. So we did 4500 steps this morning - I fugured It wouldn't kill me to do another 1000 steps! Its not as far as I thought it would be & it's about 2 miles total. I just wish I didn't have to walk up the two huge hills that my husband makes me walk up - ugh! So did I understand you correctly, you keep your pedometer on all day - even in between walks? Do the steps you take around the house & grocery store count? Also, when I was doing weight watchers they said I had to eat all my points every day or my metabolism would stall & I wouldn't lose any weight - so the last couple of days, since I've been logging my food, i average about 900 cals per day - do I need to be eating 1200 or is the 900 ok? Hope you feel better soon Tina! How's everybody else this morning?
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Hi All:blush: Tina & Sheena - glad all went well for both of you! I have a quick questions regarding the pre-op diet. I've been logging my food the last couple of days and I've been averaging about 900 cals per day - Do I have to hit the 1200 mark? I'm trying to be so careful not to mess up my 3 meals per day but since I've cut the carbs out my calorie level is lower. Any thoughts on this?

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
See, I don't think I really have that! I do have flat feet though. I might just have to make an apt with the pediatrist. Somethings gotta give. This is why I prefer swimming but my husband won't do that with me. I need to get to the point where I don't need him to exercise. I tell ya, though, if it wasn't for him I'd probably never do it. I hope this book I'm reading really does help to change my mindset LOL Thanks for the info!!

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
WOW, Riley, you are a trooper!!! Guess I really need to step up my game - LOL I do have a pedometer, not an Omron though - I will google it! My husband got me New Balance running shoes... Are they as good as he thinks they are? - hahaha. I have a pain across the top of my left foot that has been killing me for about 6 weeks now. I went in to see my Doctor and he said I had plantar Faciatis too but I don't think that's it. I thought plantar faciatis was lengthwise across the bottom of the foot. Hmmm? Anyway, He didn't do any tests or look at it really, he just said the usual "lose weight" Same thing he said about my migraines & sleep apnea LOL. You are my new muse

Hi Riley, Girl, where do you get the energy??? I would love to know how you got started on that walking/jogging regiment. I've been trying to do the 10,000 steps thing & I've gotten up to 7,000 only - I have no idea if that is even a mile! I thought after a week or so it would start to get easier but it's not. Did you follow some type of endurance program?

In the box under your name you'll see the customize profile link - click on that & on the left side under the Settings & options box you'll see the edit signature link - click on that & type away! I don't know how to do the weight loss ticker yet, though

Self help books never really worked for me before but this one seems to be right on. I have always treated my hunger as an emergency! I would think, "my stomech made a noise - stop everything and grab the first edible thing you can find." This book says to talk back to that little sabotaging voice in your head - it works! But yes, my tummy is growing - quite loudly! This is really a new feeling for me since I never use to let myself get this hungry before - LOL So, I just got out my big jug of water - thanks for reminding me

Hi Maria, The meetings are from 11:00 - 1:00 at Kaiser Point West. 1650 Response Rd, Sacramento. Wish I could help on the creative eating issues but I'm not there. I don't think you are allowed dessert. I was told 3 meals a day only. But one of the pro's on here will know better than me. I'm a no carb person. Carbs just keep me fat! You can read back about our spaghetti squash if you haven't already done so - LOL. I'm a big fan of it and also Ricotta cheese. Last night I had a frittata. 2 eggs, 1 oz cheese, 2 oz each, tomato, onion, bell pepper & mushrooms. Today I have a 1/2 bell pepper stuffed with the same veggies from above with 1oz cheese melted on top & 2oz of pork chop for lunch. Breakfast was 3oz fresh mozzarella (the kind that comes inthe water pack) & tomato slices rolled in fresh basil leaves. The thing I have the hardest with is eating proteins first. I'm not a huge meat eater - not a vegetarian - but always carbs - grrr! These ladies on here lost so much weight on this pre op diet they will surely be able to tell you some of the things they ate!

Ok, so I never use to eat anything till about 1:30 or 2:00 - the last few days I have eaten breakfast and have been hungrier! I ate breakfast this morning around 7:30 and now my stomech is growling & it's only 11:00. Is this normal?? It's ok, though, my new book has taught me that it's ok to be hungry for a little while untill lunch time
