  1. Is there any possibility that your doctor will adjust your records to show the 100 pounds without actually requiring you to gain the 5 pounds? Do they support the surgery? I like the previous ideas about wearing the weights from walmart or putting something heavy in your pockets. Unfortunately I gained all of my weight the old-fashioned way and my doctors were more than happy to recommend me for the surgery. Good luck!
  2. I feel better about not feeling the need to tell everyone my business. I'm not ashamed of the surgery - in fact I'm very excited, but I just don't want to be inundated with tons of questions and I don't want everyone watching and waiting for me to drop a few more pounds. Any suggestions for what to say to the persistant people that don't know when to back off? There's an older lady at my office that even wants to know where I go when I'm on my BREAK! Thanks for everyones input and help - I do appreciate it. I was starting to really think it was necessary to tell everyone.
  3. I have Dr Wasser & am scheduled for surgery May 19th. How did everything go for you? I'd love any input you have. I've only met Dr Wasser ONCE and it was brief, but I have heard good things about him. My next appointment is May 7th and I'll get my protein shakes then.
  4. I'm tall, too, and was always told by everyone that I wasn't fat, and that I carried it well, etc. Well, it's time for me to stop listening to everyone and take care of myself. I'm glad the lapband is available - it sounds like the right thing for me. My surgery is May 19th, so I'll be right before you. I hope everything goes well for you! I can't wait for you to meet the new you, too!
  5. I am not having my surgery in Mexico but I am still concerned overall about being hospitalized. Even if the swine flu weren't active right now, i know that I am at risk when I am cut open and in that environment. Regardless of the risks that are out there I'm still eager to have my surgery May 19th and start my new lifestyle. Good luck and good health to you!
  6. I can't decide when / if to tell others about my surgery. I have told most of my family but have told none of my co-workers. The atmosphere here is full of gossipy people and I prefer to keep my business to myself. Do I need to tell my co-workers why I'm out for a week or why I'm losing weight? I just can't decide if it is best to be open about the procedure or keep my personal life out of the office. Any suggestions?
