  1. Hello! Just a quick post to say that I just feel really good! I only used the pain meds a couple of evenings after surgery and haven't needed them since. My incisions all feel good and I can pretty much sleep on my side and stomach without a problem. I really feel great and I think my body is enjoying being 20 lbs lighter! How is everyone else doing?
  2. So what new things have you eaten since your appt? I need to go to the store so I have only had scrambled eggs so far. Can't wait to load up on supplies! :cursing:
  3. Hello! I went to my 1 week checkup with my surgeon today. I expected him to look at my incisions and ask how everything is going. What I wasn't expecting is for the dietician to come in and give me a goody bag from Realize full of lots and lots of great things AND she added scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, string cheese and unsweetened applesauce to my list of acceptable foods!!! OMG I am in heaven right now! I thought I would have to wait another week for these foods, but she offered em' right up! I came home and scrambled some eggs right away! :crying: I had not eaten anything all day, other than Water and a cup of coffee, so I made 3 eggs, put them in a bowl and ate them slowly over about 2-3 hours. Kinda gross to eat cold eggs, but I didn't care! They also weighed me and I am down 20 lbs since starting the pre op diet (5/2) so that is great! I made another appt for 1 month from today and he will give me my first fill. He explained that the first fill will be the biggest fill and then the fills after that will be smaller to help me get to my "sweet spot". Great visit overall! (I did complain about the nurses starving me in the hospital though!) lol I hope everyone is doing well!!
  4. I know we are only supposed to weigh ourselves once a week at most, but I find myself jumping on there just about every morning. Anyone else? When I weighed myself this morning, it said 252, which would mean I have lost 20 lbs...but I realize that it was my morning weight, without any food or liquids in my body...so I won't believe that number until it sticks around a little
  5. I am so sorry you have had such a rough time. I really really hope it gets better for you! I can't believe how different the experience has been from person to person. I guess it's kind of like childbirth!
  6. What is falafal? Also, you are a size 14 to start??? Lucky!
  7. I don't know, really, other than that everything I did consume was very spaced out throughout the day. So I think I pretty much took about an hour to drink every item on my list, except the protein shot, which is in one of those little vial thingees, and all "meals" were hours apart. Even with all of that "food", I went to bed VERY hungry.

  9. A spot for us to post our daily intake, if we so desire :rolleyes2:
  10. I have the Realize band and next week when I go to my follow up appt, they will give me some code thingee so I can access special features on the Realize Website.
  11. Sorry for your experience but I can completely understand why you did this. Thank you for sharing :rolleyes2:
  12. I love all the replies! Keep em coming!! Yesterday, I made the kids one of those bag skillet meals with twirly noodles, chicken and veggies...OMG did it smell good! All the garlic butter goodness as it cooked! That took some restraint! I also had to refrain from taking a big chomp out of the cheddarwurst I had cut up for my lil boy yesterday. SO tempting! Then tonight, I made cheese pizza for the kids and the smell called to me ALL night!! I would have loved to have torn in to a piece of it! I wonder how much everyone is eating. Today was kind of a low Protein day for me, I need to try and make sure I get a little bit more in each day. Please take a look at my food journal if you have a chance. Thanks!
  13. I knew what you meant, but it just struck me funny! You are a comedian and you didn't know it! :grouphug:
  14. Here's my list so far: -pizza, cheese/mushroom is my favorite -spaghetti, plain, chicken alfredo, chicken parm, noodles with butter and garlic...mmmmm -SWEETS, I love Cookies, chocolate, ice cream, candy -Chinese foods, I have always loved chicken fried rice and PB chicken -Buttery popcorn, movie theatre popcorn is the best! -Hot Dogs and cheddarwurst! -BREAD...mmmmm -Fast food, I have always loved Taco Bell (always went and ordered 2-3 items! Talk about piggy!) McDonald's cheeseburgers, Runza swiss mushroom sandwiches -Mac and cheese -PB and banana sandwiches The list could go on....and on....
  15. By now we all have come to realize that we must change the way we eat in order to achieve our goals. I thought it might be fun to talk about fav foods we are already missing or think we might miss in the future. Also, we can post situations pre-op or post-op in which we have had to resist temptation (i.e. out to dinner with family, vacation, ect.) :grouphug:
  16. Keep your chins up? LOL As in double chins?? LMAO
  17. I was also wondering the same thing this morning...and then it happened! It didn't take too much effort and it was pretty ample (sorry!) but very smelly. (sorry again!) I am assuming that the reason I went so frequently in the past is because I was eating way more than my body really needed and all the extra waste was released, if you will. Now that we are eating less and our bodies actually need what are eating, our BM's will be less often. Maybe?
  18. Do you think our dr's will tell us not to ride rollercoasters anymore because of the band? I wonder if the pressure and drops would have any affect on the band at all... Fried chicken...mmmm....sounds good! :hurray:
  19. Kel, Thank you so much for sharing all of these thoughts and emotions going on in your head right now. Reading about how other people are feeling is very helpful. I know just what you mean about that heart to heart you had with your mom. It was something that I had never wanted to talk about with my parents before, or even my husband really. A very taboo and sensistive subject with me. Hopefully now I can open up to people a little more and actually let them help me. Most people I know do know that I am on a diet, but they don't know about the surgery. I may choose to tell people down the line, but we'll see.
  20. Thank you thank you SO much to everyone for your wise words. So much of what you are saying makes TOTAL sense. There are definitely things that naturally thin people, or people who have never had to worry about their weight, just can't relate to. I actually had a dream last night about eating a subway sandwich! I felt SO guilty and then was relieved when I woke up and realized I hadn't actually eaten it! lol I told my husband about it and he kind of looked at me like I was crazy! ha By the way, if anyone wants to find me on facebook, my name is Cyndi Hevi-just don't post any public messages about the surgery please, as not everyone knows. Thanks!
  21. Sounds like you had a great experience! Congrats on your banding!
  22. Thank you. It's really nice to know that I am not the only one feeling this way. Good for you for being strong when going out to eat and not ordering what you really wanted!
  23. Thank you for your kind words. I know it will get better over time. I can't believe that nurse gave you her opinion about what she thought you needed or didn't need. Very unprofessional!
