  1. Hello everyone! I am doing great. I feel great, no pain whatsoever. I have joined a gym and really need to start going so I can see some results. I am hovering at about 240 still, (started at 272), so I have had good results, but it is slow. I've had 2 fills and am scheduled for a 3rd on August 4th. I hope the 3rd fill will get me to my sweet spot because I think I can eat entirely too much at one time right now. Example-yesterday at work, I had about a cup of fat free refried Beans (with TB hot sauce and fat free mozz cheese on top) and a burrito made with a flatout tortilla (low carb with Protein and flax seeds). The burrito had grilled chicken breast strips inside and ff mozz cheese. I was able to eat all of it and felt full afterwards but it seems like a lot of food for someone who has had 2 fills totaling about 8-9cc's! I have been getting compliments and am able to wear size 20 jeans/pants (was wearing a tight 22), and am wearing an XL top (XXL pre op). The bath towel is bigger and so are my favorite hoodies!

    Ugh... First Sliming Experience

I had a problem with scrambled egg whites getting stuck today, (first fill was last tuesday), but I know I ate too quickly. I also had a problem about 2 weeks ago when I took about 2 bites of white rice, it came right back up. Ugh!
  3. I know exactly what you mean! I was running around cleaning this morning and made some egg whites with salsa and fat free mozz (yum) and I kept re-heating them because I never sat down to eat them...well then when I finally did eat them, I ate them too fast and they got stuck. TMI but I threw them up about 30-60 sec later. I was really bummed! I think I am still getting over just mentally WANTING to eat...not that my body necessarily needs what my mind WANTS, does that make sense??
  4. By now we all have come to realize that we must change the way we eat in order to achieve our goals. I thought it might be fun to talk about fav foods we are already missing or think we might miss in the future. Also, we can post situations pre-op or post-op in which we have had to resist temptation (i.e. out to dinner with family, vacation, ect.) :grouphug:

    I feel good!

Hello! Just a quick post to say that I just feel really good! I only used the pain meds a couple of evenings after surgery and haven't needed them since. My incisions all feel good and I can pretty much sleep on my side and stomach without a problem. I really feel great and I think my body is enjoying being 20 lbs lighter! How is everyone else doing?

    I feel good!

Hi Christy, thanks for asking about me My weekend back at work was not too bad, the days were just long and I would have rather been home with the kids, of course. There is a little man made pond/lake thing there with a walking path and I tried to get a lap or two in every day just to stretch out a little. I brought a couple of shakes each day, string cheese, refried Beans, cottage cheese. Basically a bunch of different tupperwares with different contents so I could have some variety. I felt very snacky sitting there at my desk for so long, so hopefully I can get over that feeling. How are you?

Has anyone else stopped losing weight?

I know exactly what you're talking about! I have seen the scale go as low as 248 over these past couple of weeks, but then it jumps up to 251 or so the same day. It's crazy. I know my calories have been low too...I can't wait to get my first fill on 6/16!
  8. Ok, here is my before picture, taken 5/3/09, the first day of my pre op diet. Yucky yucky yucky! I am planning to take a few pics in the next day or so in the same outfit, just to compare.
  9. Thanks for starting this. My first fill will be June 16th and he said he will be putting a lot of fluid in so I am getting excited!
  10. Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well! As for me, I need some help! I hate to admit what I'm about to say, but I need to be honest with myself and everyone else and say that I have strayed off course... Since I had my follow up appt with my surgeon, (last Tuesday), and was given the go ahead to add a few things to my diet, I pretty much lost my mind. My body feels so good and healed, it doesn't even seem like I had surgery less than 2 weeks ago! I am only reminded of this when I see my incisions, bend over the wrong way or slouch, or have to ask hubby to lift the little one for me. I am happy to be feeling so good, but at the same time, I think I have gotten a little bit overconfident. So, first I tried my new allowed items, cottage cheese, string cheese, eggs...yummy of course. Then, over the next few days, I got a little cocky and couldn't resist trying a little bit of the meat sauce I made for my family the other night, to go with their spaghetti. Then I tried some of the hotdogs I had made for the kids...and then a crescent roll...and then some skippy natural Peanut Butter...a piece of regular bread...then more peanut butter...(I think I am in love with peanut butter, btw). I did not have a problem with any of these foods, nothing stuck, nothing came back up. (I wish it would have to teach me a lesson!) So it has kind of been a free-for-all the last few days. I haven't been focusing on getting my Protein in, I have actually been AVOIDING my Protein shakes because I am so tired of them, I just plain have not been following the rules. I do not feel any restriction at all and although I haven't really eaten anything TOO bad, such as fast food or sweets, I do NOT want to keep this up for the next 3 weeks until I get my first fill. I know that if I do keep this up, I will gain all of my pre op weight back and I DEFINITELY do not want that! And who knows if my first fill will even create restriction at all! I was SO incredibly strict with the pre op diet, I never had a bite or taste of anything that was not on my list, so why am I doing this now??? Is anyone else having a similar problem? PLEASE kick my butt in gear! This is your invitation to tell it to me straight!

  13. Thank you thank you to everyone for your replies! I did much better today and I am going to start using my food journal again!
  14. Thank you for your reply. I am going to have to just start over and get my mental focus back!!!!
  15. Thank you for the kick in the butt, I did ask for it. Please note that my surgeon AND dietician told me last tuesday that I could start eating eggs, cottage cheese, string cheese and unsweetened applesauce.

    I feel good!

Hi there, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I have been having problems getting on to this forum, it either takes forever to load or freezes completely. I ran the disk defrag so maybe that will help. I am due to go back to work this coming friday (since I work Fri, Sat and Sun). I honestly don't think I even needed this much time off work to recover, but I sure enjoyed spending so much time with the kids! (7 and 17 months) I will be sad to go back for that reason! How are you doing?

    Getting back in the sack...

We DTD a couple of days ago for the first time, although I was instructed to wait two weeks...oops. TMI but I just told hubby to be very gentle! My problem now is that I am not on any birth control and TMI AGAIN the flippin condom broke!! DH was FREAKING out and told me to go get plan B or something but I don't like the idea of that so...hopefully someone is looking out for me right now! (sorry for the information overshare, I just had to get it out!)

Easy way to get the bandage goo off

Great idea! I got tired of looking at my "goo" and scrubbed it off with my fingernails in the shower today. It got it all off and I just made sure I didn't scratch too close to the actual incision area.
  19. Hello! I went to my 1 week checkup with my surgeon today. I expected him to look at my incisions and ask how everything is going. What I wasn't expecting is for the dietician to come in and give me a goody bag from Realize full of lots and lots of great things AND she added scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, string cheese and unsweetened applesauce to my list of acceptable foods!!! OMG I am in heaven right now! I thought I would have to wait another week for these foods, but she offered em' right up! I came home and scrambled some eggs right away! :crying: I had not eaten anything all day, other than Water and a cup of coffee, so I made 3 eggs, put them in a bowl and ate them slowly over about 2-3 hours. Kinda gross to eat cold eggs, but I didn't care! They also weighed me and I am down 20 lbs since starting the pre op diet (5/2) so that is great! I made another appt for 1 month from today and he will give me my first fill. He explained that the first fill will be the biggest fill and then the fills after that will be smaller to help me get to my "sweet spot". Great visit overall! (I did complain about the nurses starving me in the hospital though!) lol I hope everyone is doing well!!

    I feel good!

I was able to put my picture as my avatar and put a pic of my kiddos in my sig! It's a silly pic of them but hey, it's hard to get these active kids to pose for me, especially the lil boy! lol
  21. Thank you for both recipes! They sound yummy!
  22. Someone posted a cottage cheese and spaghetti sauce recipe. Can you please repost it or link me to the original post? Thanks!
  23. Sounds prickly! I want to know what it is too!

    I feel good!

Ouchie, that sounds painful! I haven't gone back to work yet but I am worried that I will be uncomfortable sitting for so long. I work 3 twelve hour shifts completely in front of a computer so I guess I will just need to make sure I get up pretty often to walk around.
