travelgirl got a reaction from indamilyon in Good Crockpot recipes?
This is the EASIEST recipe for chili EVER, make sure you make this in a 5 or 6 qt crock pot, it makes a LOT, or you can halve it, and it would fit in a 3.5 qt crock pot.
    Crock Pot Chili
2 cans red kidney Beans undrained
2 cans chili Beans undrained (use your own heat preference)
2 cans diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes or Tomato sauce (again, your preference)
2-3 lbs ground beef or ground turkey, browned and drained
1 or 2 LG chopped onions (added to recipe uncooked)
1 envelope of your favorite chili seasoning mix (I like McCormick)
Dump all ingredients in crock pot, cook on low 8 hours (It's ready to eat after a couple of hours, but the longer it simmers, the more tender the meat, and the better the flavors meld together)
Serve with your favorite chili fixin's!

I'm staying on plan today because I'm finally losing again (it's been since September) now that I got my head out of my butt and got a fill.
I'll get there, I really will!

travelgirl reacted to ssh in Does it bother you when people ask"how much weight have you lost"?
When someone out of the blue asks me, "have you lost weight?", that makes me feel good. It meas since they've seen me last, they can possibly tell I've lost a few pounds.
But when the same people ask me almost daily or weekly, "how much weight have you lost now", it really gets under my skin:angry_smile:. I smile and say, "I haven't weighed since last week so I don't know of any more". Because I do honestly only weigh once a week. But it gets so discouraging when I've only lost 1 pound or possible none and they keep asking every week.
I was very open with friends, family and co-workers about having my surgery. Everyone I associate with regularly knew about me having the surgery and they all were very supportive. I know they are just curious as to how much I've lost and I know deep down they really do care about me in my weight loss journey. But it drives me insane some days when they keep asking. If it were only one or two a day I don't think it would bother me. But I'm talking about 5-10 people ask me daily. I'm trying to be the nice person I think I am (haha) and smile :biggrin2: and not snap back at them but I'm starting to lose my patience. I promise I will never ask anyone again how much weight have they lost.
If I'm being totally unreasonable in thinking this, please someone tell me so. Or if you agree and feel the way I do, let me know I'm not the only one.

travelgirl reacted to COACH TAMALA! in Bodybugg users report here!
The bodybugg is meant to be worn on the right arm. There are sensors on the bodybugg that detect body temp and air temp and if you have it on the left arm, those sensors will be backwards. Now if you turn it upside down on the left arm the sensors will be correct BUT the bodybugg knows what plane you are on. It knows if you are sitting, standing, laying down or even lean forward like riding a bike but with it on upside down this will all be wrong PLUS the bodybugg will think you are walking on your hands all day long which can result in skewed numbers.
To help with irritation, take it off while you are sleeping. You do not need to wear it 24/7 plus you need to give your arm a break. If you have never worn it to sleep then you need to wear it for 48 hours then thats it.
Let me know if you have further question. You can email me at Tproos@apexfitness.com. I don't come in here very often because this is your space and I you can say whatever your heart desires!!

travelgirl reacted to OH Juli in Fat people in movies
I think there's a line we tread as women, as American woman (pardon me other women, but speaking from my own experience here to my yankee sisters) who are or have been of size, between fat acceptance and a desire to not be fat.
Certainly there's a place for advocacy for fat people. We/they are not any less human because of our/their size. Treating someone as less than because they are different isn't okay on any level. But it's still considered reasonable to treat fat folk badly.
We question fat folk advocating for themselves and we question them laughing at their own pain. It's institutionalized to the point that a self loathing fat person thinks they deserve to hate themself and they deserve the scorn of others.
I don't have the answer...but talking about bad media, pizza Hut had a commercial where the baby sitter was ordering pizzas on the phone and the chubby boy walked in and she said, "Better add to the order."
Because he obviously was going to eat vastly more than what she had ordered.
I called the company and complained. Didn't get very far, but I feel better for it.

And why can't I get my friggin' exercise ticker to work?!? Even at TickerFactory, it keeps coming up as the X. Argh! Not that it really matters now, since I have NOT done a workout in a few days anyhow...

Rep Power was enabled by mistake today. I was about to disable it when I came up with a great idea. I want LBT to be a positive place and we really need to stop any negativity that pops up every once in a while. With that spirit in mind, members can now only leave positive reputation:thumbup:

I've had lunchables before. They're just so darned handy!
My lunches (when I remember to eat ) might be tuna salad - I'll either make it the night before, or buy the 4oz puches and add mayo at work... plain or I too eat them on Wasa (sourdough or multigrain are my favs).
We have a Green Acres near my work so sometimes I will make a salad from the salad bar that consists of grilled chicken breast, tofu, feta, bleu cheese, chick peas, sesame crackers, cottage cheese, and about a quarter of a scoop of balsamic vinagraitte. Or I will get a Soup and some of their tofu egg salad... mmm.
In case I forget and can't get out, I always keep tuna cups and a few cans of FF refried Beans in my desk, and usually a packet of turkey pepperoni in the fridge. That way I always have something.
If you cook, just bring leftovers from whatever your dinner was.
If you have a fridge, you can bring a whole week's worth of lunch and leave it in there. Sometimes on Monday I'll bring in a tub of cottage cheese, some sliced meats (I've found that "Boar's Head" brand deli meats are very close in nutritional value to homecooked meats), some Wasa, etc. -- and I'm good to go for the week.

A co-worker of mine has a 4 y.o. nephew who was treated for brain cancer most of last year. He had surgery, chemo, and radiation and as far as we in the office heard was doing well.
I just got an e-mail from the co-worker letting me know his nephew's cancer has returned, and the doctors say it's progressed to the point where he has only 2-3 months to live. My heart is just broken in two for this family. I can't imagine. :think

I put rdbiles and November Lily on the list. I will take over the list if no one else wants to do it. Anyone else out there a February club member and not on the list???
