October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hello Everyone, I can relate to many of the things you guys are going through. However, I am really, really glad I did this. It was the best investment ever. I was banded on 10/14 and so far I have lost 33.5 pounds. Gained 3 over the holidays, but they are gone now. My surgeon just gave me my 3rd fill. I am at 5cc on my 10cc band. This might be my sweet spot, as I get full with one bowl of Cereal or 2 scrambled eggs. I am now 191 pounds and can't wait to get out of the 190's for good. My best wishes to all of you and stay motivated. It really helps me (when I'm feeling lazy) to look at people's pictures on this site... Take care everyone! Nora

OH the holidays!!!! HELP ME!!
I'm glad you posted this, because I was thinking to myself this morning, how is it that it takes me a week to lose a pound, but yet I gained 3 in 4 days!!!!? It is very frustrating. However, just like you, I need to get back on track this week and get rid of them. I will have my second fill on January 24. That should help. Good luck to you and I am glad that you were able to lose it so quickly. Nora

What were your first few days post-op like?
Hi Terri, I hope you are feeling better. My first 5-7 days were horrible!!! I WAS wondering what the hell had I done. The nausea and pain were beyond what I had expected. However, after the first week everything started to feel better. Hang in there, after you pass these first couple of weeks you will feel great! Follow your Dr.'s advice and take care of yourself. Good luck!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hi everyone! I was banded on 10/14. I have lost 27 pounds so far. Looking forward to that 30 pound mark. got my first fill 2 weeks ago. No I feel more restricted. I am scheduled for a 2nd fill in January. So far, I am losing about 1.5 pounds per week. That is exactly what I expected, so anything over that is a bonus. Still have 47 pounds to go. Although last week I reached the under 200 mark!!! That was so great! The hardest part is going out at night and not eating. I get really hungry at night. Other than that, I love the band. Happy Holidays to All!!!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hello Oct Bandsters! I hope everyone is doing well. Yesterday I saw the surgeon for the first time after surgery (Oct 14). Everything looks great and I've lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. The hardest part for me is getting the liquids in (60oz per day). My first fill will be Dec. 4. But so far, hunger is not too much of an issue. Take care everyone and good luck!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hi, I was banded 10/14. My doctor said I could do any aerobic exercise, but to be careful because I should not lift anything over 10 pounds for 2 months. However, I am still a little sore, so I am just walking for now. Maybe after 2 more weeks I will feel more comfortable doing some aerobic exercises. Talk to your doctor about it. He/she should be the one to give you advice. If you do things on your own and do not follow his/her instructions, and anything goes wrong, they would say it is your fault for not following their post-op instructions. (Just to be on the safe side). Good luck, and congratulations!!!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hi Guys, just a little update. Glad to see that for the most part everyone is doing well. The pain is almost gone. (Banded 10/14). I've lost 13 pounds since surgery and today I start the soft diet. Same as many of you, I was not hungry for the most part for the first 10 days. Now I am having a hard time getting all my liquids in. It takes a lot of determination to drink 64oz at this stage. I am really happy with the band now that the pain is gone. It felt soooo good to eat an egg this morning!!!! :-) Good luck to all!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hi, my Drs. have a very strict post-op diet. The first two days was Clear liquids including these Protein drinks. Now I am on a liquid diet for 10 days. That is only Soup (strained), Jello, pudding, yogurt, protein supplements, liquid Vitamins, Water, juice (all sugar-free). After day 12, I can start adding very few pureed foods like eggs, potatoes, tuna. Drinks have to be sugar-free and cafeine-free. Good luck!

October 2009 Surgery Date?
Hi everyone! I made it 6 days post-op. It seems like this is such a different process for each of us. My scars are healing very quickly and pain-free. I had no problems with eating, drinking, going to the bathroom at all. The only thing that was very hard, was the post-op gas pain. It did not reach my showlders, but it stayed in the belly area and the sides. That was much more painful than I could ever imagine. However, it seems like this is not a problem for most people. I have been able to drink the amounts of protein supplements and liquids that they want me to drink. Hunger comes and goes, not too much of a problem. I am glad I did it. So far, I've lost 8 pounds in 6 days. If anyone would like to ask me a question, please feel free to send me a private message. Good luck to all!!!!
