Worried About Egd
I just had an endoscopy on Monday and they dilated 2 areas of my esophagus- Nothing related to sleeve or surgery- I have had 1 about eveyr 5-6 years since my teens. It is not bad- you are knocked out and afterwards you only have a sore scratchy throat for a day or so- just make sure that if your surgeon doctor is not the one doing it that the doctor knows you had a sleeve so that a) they dont inflate too much air and go down to far into the pouch/sleeve. Good luck!

Noodles?!
I would say yes they are a "soft" food but do you want to go there.. probably not- If that is the only option- just eat/drink the broth- I agree if 1 or 2 or a few slip by your not gunna die but I would avoid the carbs.

Frustrations With Body Image
I can tell you that it doesnt get any better the further out you are- The more weight you loose the more skin you have the more issues come up it is as if you loose 1 thing and gain something else- It is a struggle to not only feel good about yourself but see the positive in what you have done- especially if people are complimenting you and you havenever been complimented before.. I saw a therapist who said body image is something even "normal" people struggle with and I would encourage you to talk to a professional if it continues to become worse. For me-I NEVER cared what Ilooked like or what i wore etc.. Now it pleases me to shop and try on clothes and look nice evne to go the grocery store-- so sometimes the negative has to be turned into a positive.... all that money I spent on food wallowing in my own pity is now spent on clothes and accessories....

1St Meal In Restaurant
Also you if you like fish most places offer a baked white fish that is very soft and you can order it baked with sauce on the side- and take home whatever you dont eat- also move your food around the plate that helps distract people if they focus on your not eating...

Acid Reflux 7 Months After Surgery
I have had GI Problems for many many years. For the last 6 years I have been on Omeprazol 10mg 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening- I was sleeved 11/2011 and I came off my meds in March of 2012. I also became a vegetarian and eat no fried food. I don't eat much bread and have no carbonation. I do however still have issues with my esophagus which are due to my auto immune issues and will never go away completely- i just had an endoscopy on MOnday to dilate it. The scope will tell you a few things a) if you have any scarring from the acid if you have any blockages causing things to get stuck and most of all enable him to prescribe something to help your symptoms. For me- I had amost instantaneous releif from reflux about a month after surgery and I had lost about 18-lbs at that time but they wanted to keep me on meds a little longer. I now use a Tums if/when needed because sometimes a lettuce or onion(y) dish will get it aggravated. I think that reflux is totally reversable in most cases if/when you change your diet but often times the damage is already done and therefore you may need to stay on meds for that purpose...

I became a vegetarian post op. and am not having any problems at all- other than some hair loss which was present pre op. I do eat dairy a few times a month (yogurt, cheese) but other than that it is all meatless items, fruits and veggies... I have personally NEVER felt better than I have since adopting this lifestyle and the hardest part has been cooking for me and hubby- he is a true carnivore...

Protein Bars?
The OTC ones have way too much sugar and are basically a glorified candy bar- Here is a recipe I have made a million times for all natural protein/energy bars- You can add chips, raisins etc as you like but they are yummy and all natural... 1 cup organic Almond Butter 1 cup Peanut Butter 1 1/2 cup organic local honey 2 cups of protein powder 1 cup of rolled oats 1/4 cup chia seeds 1/4 cup flax seeds 1/4 cup cocoa powder (optional) add almond butter, peanut butter and honey to a bowl and microwave for 90 sec. Carefully mix until smooth. Then add remaining ingredients. Pour /spread into a baking glas or baking sheet and cover-Referigerate over night. THey will get a bit mushy in heat so etiher eat cold or freeze right before going out so they dont mush up. You can also use vanilla powder instead of chocolate and add chips or raisins etc...
