  1. :phanvan Im on the pre surgery liquid diet and am going a little nuts. My Dr. Says Liquids only for ONE MONTH after surgery. My question is once the band is placed, will I feel less hungry right away? The things Im eating (drinkning) are getting boring already. I am a very motivated person and am SOOO excited for this new time in my life, although the past couple days of this are really wearing me down. I almost feel, airheadish. I have been getting 60 grams of protein, and my calcium, and vitamins. Please tell me it gets easier after surgery! Thanks for any reply and for words of incouragement:rolleyes
  2. Hi I am scheduled in 5 days!! I have really seen alot of variations in the things that Dr.'s are telling people. The best advise would be do what plan your Dr. tells you. I love being able to read all the posts, although alot of it has sorta confused me even more. Im sure that differnt things work for different people. I am currantly on a 7 day liquid diet....{to shrink the liver for a easier surgery} Some didnt have to do that and other had to do it longer. I am going to be all packed and ready to go. Am bringing comfy slippers, robe. Sounds like they want you up and walking around pretty quick after your done. Also, dont know if your a big coffee, pop drinker but i stopped that like 2 weeks ago. Good luck to you, I feel like Im climbing the walls, So much to thing about and plan for. ONLY 5 more days and Ill be able to tell ya how I did!!
  3. Its so great to hear these stories! Congrats Buffy! Ive got 5 days until mine and at this point I just want to get that part over and done with. I am supposed to work 6 days after mine, Do you all think I can do it? I work with the public at a computer, but I will have tons of makeup work to do. Hope i can do it....if not, the work will still be there for me whan I do feel up to it. Thanks~~
  4. :help: I am reading all these great helpful hints from everyone on what to eat after surgery. Recipes with milk, and cream soups keep coming up. My Dr. says, no milk EVER, breaks down into sugar as soon as it goes down. Adds to SLOW weight LOSS! I can have cheese, cottage cheese, ect. Was wondering did anyone elses Dr.s advise against milk? Also NO SUGAR ever. (under 5 grams per serving) Thanks, This is a great place to learn Thanks to my friend Pam (the Queen) for showing me !!
  5. Thanks for the great reply. I apprecate it I can do it and will!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Hey!! My Dr is Earl Fox...He is so swesome and great to talk to! I am a self pay. My total for everything is $12,800. That includes 3 months of fills, office visits. What that fee doesnt include is the testing that needs to be done B4. My insurance is covering most of that. Hope that helps!

  8. Hi, This is my first thread.... I am having surgery in a week from today!!! Sooo Excited, seems like its taken so long to finanlly be at this point. I am supposed to be on a liquid only diet for 10 days, and its tough. Just wondering if everyone did this and ALSO, Now that your banded, Do any of you still enjoy a glass of wine, or a cocktail????....if so, how long after and what works well, as far as not upsetting tummys. Apprectiate any replies and all advice!
  9. Hi, Im having surgery in 9 days and I went out and got my protien shakes, a good mixing cup, the calcium citrate, chewable vitiamins. For "food" I bought sugar free jello, chicken broth, crystal lights, sugar free popcycles. I drank my first shake this morning, it was really pretty good! Seems like i stayed full for hours....Also, my Dr already had me get the prescriptions filled so I dont have to worry about that at the hospital.
