  1. I put sour cream(low fat) in my refried Beans and my chili. I have not been able to eat either of these things. At first I thought it was because they were too dense, now I wonder if it is because of the sour cream. I plan to try the beans with out the sour cream to see, but wondered if you had an intolerance to foods you were surprised at. Before my unfill I was not able to eat salty food, after my unfill/refill I am able to now eat them again.
  2. I am seriously stuck. I have changed up my food, changed up my work out though this week I think I will put 12 hours in at the gym instead of my regular 10, and still weigh the same every single morning. I promised myself that I would not be overweight when all was said and done, but I am 3 pounds BMI wise till I get in the normal weight category. I do think I need a fill as I mentioned before I don't think I have great restriction as I did a few months ago when I had a complete unfill. Have you ever started over doing liquids then back to mushy's, etc to jump start weight loss? Any other suggestions?
  3. I am doing pretty well. I have had a prolapse(complete unfill) and a flipped port which required revision surgery. Overall I can not complain. I would still be struggling to lose 5 pounds had I not been banded.
  4. Broccoli is really hard for most with the band.
  5. Its an amazing feeling. so glad you are doing so well!
  6. Weight tracker can be found at tickerfactory.com. I was really bloated, I remember wearing sweats and they were alot tighter after the surgery than before. I was told it was a combo of the IV fluids and the gas.
  7. The person that does my fills compared the band and fills to jeans. When they are new they are nice and tight but as you wear them they loosen up.
  8. I didn't have restriction till my 3rd fill. If you band holds 10cc's it can actually be filled to a little over 10cc's. You are doing great.
  9. Sounds like you could be too tight. Have you tried drinking Hot tea or coffee in the morning. At the moment I am drinking a Protein Shake this morning and having a hard time as I am tight in the mornings. 5 bites of food is not enough to keep your strength up. If after drinking hot liquids in the morning if you are still having issues have it checked out.
  10. I use Low fat Muscle milk, or Premiere protein from Costco.
  11. I've learned to put my fork down after I've taken a bite. between that, swallowing, picking up the fork and spearing another bite seems like the right amount of time
  12. have you ever seen those inflatible costumes that have the fan in them? That is how I felt a few months after surgery. I am now a workout feign. I have found doing weights have helped my boobs, my excess, skin, my arms and my legs.
  13. I have been where you are and also been to tight and had ill effects. The guy that does my fills often says, this is not a race. I agree. Glad that you and your tech decided to play it safe, should you have any side effects an unfill can be disasterous!
  14. Do you have a prize when you make your goal? I am so wanting a pair of those True religion skinny jeans. What is your goal prize? I also want a diamond eternity band to Celebrate my band:)
  15. Do you remember if it had the after taste that Muscle milk had? Sams only has the chocolate.
  16. Sams today had a brand called pure Protein. It came in Cans similar to a coke can. 110 calories, 20 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugar. I almost bought them but for almost $30 and 24 cans I wanted to see how good they were before I committed myself. Anyone have experience with this brand? Please let me know, thanks!
  17. I have had good restriction before but now since I have had an unfill and been slowly refilled my restriction isn't there. Its close, but not quite where it was before. I can't explain it but feel like I wasn't where I was before my unfill. I am a bit weary as I had a prolapse before from being too tight. Just wondering what to do. Last fill I had was last Monday. I still work out 4-5 times a week for 2 hours a time, and still maintaining my weight with no loss since last fill.
  18. Bandwife, have you gone to see another doctor? That doesn't sound good or right.
  19. Sadly I've been there done that. Chalk it up to a learning experience!
  20. You know a tip that I got after I was banded was to keep eating the foods I liked while I still could in moderation. Natural progression will only allow you to eat some foods for a certain amount of time. Eventually bagels, steak, bread, etc will be difficult for you to eat. I am not saying to eat a dozen bagels in one sitting but still you almost have to wean yourself off the foods you love. In reality your band will help you with this. I wish I would have "indulged" in the foods I could no longer eat.
  21. I agree that you should just use what you like, but if you want a substitute why not do half mayo and half cottage cheese(good protein too!) blended till smooth?
  22. I am down to my last 20-30 pounds and I seem to gain and lose the same few pounds. I have decent restriction and I work out about 10 hours a week with a mix of cardio and weights. Any suggestions for losing these last few pounds? I am down almost 70 but would love to see the scale start moving again!
