  1. Jenny Craig is about $70 week which would cost the same as one fill a month. Eating healthier costs more, its one of my gripes to tell you the truth. But I have been sick less than I ever had been, I feel better, and I know I will live longer.
  2. I am about 20 pounds from goal and I wonder how you finally stop your weight loss? My husband asked and I have no idea so I thought I would ask?
  3. I have lost a little over 60 pounds and have gone from an 18 to a 10. I think that the first 40 pounds I went down one size, the past 20 pounds I went down 3 sizes. I get my jeans at Sam's. They are 9 west and are a bargain at 15.77. I go to Sam's every 2 weeks and pick up a size lower when I go.
  4. Call your doc and try not going to the ER, they tend not to know what to do with banded people(the ER). Also keep us posted!
  5. I was so down on myself and hard on myself right after I was banded. I wondered why I couldn't do this on my own. Had I done the right thing? Once the scale started moving and I did as well that changed. It is amazing how much easier I can move these days. I work out at the gym almost daily. I feel so much better and I am so much healthier. I know now this is the best decision I have ever made!
  6. If you are eating celery and apples with skin(you didn't say) I think you may need more restriction.
  7. How many times do you eat a day? Your better eating good foods more often at the point that you are at than the regular 3 meals a day.
  8. Last night I drank some Water while in bed. I propped myself up on one arm and drank a few sips. I will say I was very thirsty so I may have been a bit tight for this reason. The water wouldn't stay down, I was almost refluxy. Has this happened to any of you? It was quite scary and I wondered what went wrong?
  9. I am having a hard time deciding if I should cancel or keep my fill appointment for this week. I am super tight in the morning which I think is somewhat common. I tend every once in a while to slime after meals which my tech says is normal for the "waterfall" flow my band has. I am hungrier between meals. It was before that I could literally go all day and not even think about food. I haven't had a fill since October and have lost almost 60 pounds since I was banded in May of this year. Not complaining as I only have about 25 pounds to go. Advice please? Thanks!
  10. I do hot liquids. Even a protein shake for me is too much. After I get my kids to school I tend to be looser and then can eat a little something.
  11. I suggest you also find a support group in your area. My husband and Mother in Law are the only two that know I had this done. Many days I have been frustrated and have really found support in my group! Congrats for jumping back on, and good luck!
  12. I was told a pencil. We talked about pills getting stuck at our last monthly meeting. Vitamins especially are acid based and if they sit in your opening for a while can give you a slight acid burn which can irritate you for a few days.
  13. Heck yeah! I started in an 18 and graduated to a size 10 in a little over 6 months. Totally worth it!
  14. I would try tweaking your band by getting a fill and sticking it out a bit more before doing something so drastic. I don't think my body could handle such a huge surgery so soon after my first.
  15. does anyone eat these? I was thinking the portion size is just about perfect, but wondered about the sodium, etc. Does anyone do these and how does your band do with them? Thanks!
  16. YOu have to know that you are puffy for at least a week from all the fluids they run through you during surgery. Keep on truckin and make sure to drink plenty of water!
  17. How long did you wait before you went to bed? I find eating and then going to bed(especially meats and heavy food) weighs on my and sometimes I will have to get rid of it. when you say pain was it pain or discomfort?
  18. What do you mean not like real vomiting? Carrots are something that I can't do. Anything with "fibers" in them like carrots, asparagus, celery, and artichoke hearts are nonos.
  19. I am just finishing a package of Thai Kitchen noodles. I have been missing Thai food but can't take the salt any longer. These noodles are pretty good and have under 750 grams of sodium. What have you found for the things you miss that aren't really bad for you but you've had to give up.
  20. Read the reviews on amazon. I bought one and didn't read the reviews. There is tons of bread, and sugar in the recipies and I ended up donating it.
  21. I had one side of port come undone. I had it restitched. Try to get them to stitch it to mesh. It helps make it a more permanent thing.
  22. Not sure if you are talking about me and chicken skin, but the condition is actually nicknamed chicken skin. If you google Chicken skin on arms it will show you what I am talking about
  23. As anyone noticed that their skin looks so much better. I used to have chicken-y skin on my arms where I could see my pores. Today I noticed my arm skin is clear! A great side effect!
  24. I am going in for a fill and have always not worked out that day but wonder what you do? If you still do is your workout less intense. I plan on asking tomorrow but tend to forget my most important questions.
