If you could move your port would you?
Choices I am considering are Below breastbone or in its current place which to the left of the belly button.

If you could move your port would you?
Where is your port now and where would it be if you could change it? I have an opportunity to move my port location. I am on the fence.

Any Kansas City bandsters???????
Jason I have to have my whole band replaced and I am anxious to have it done. I obviously have NO reservations. Who is doing your surgery?
-
Anyone
Kll724 have you tried just the tops of asparagus? I can't eat the stalks but can eat the tops. I did mourn food at first but now I really take note of calories. A snickers bar would take me over an hour to burn off and at this point that just isn't worth it to me.

emergency surgery covered, replacement DENIED
Did they pay for the replacement as well? Your post hit home for me. I also have UHC and had a prolapse. I meet with my doctor tomorrow to look at my options.

What's the reason for the lifting restriction post-op?
Your port stitches need to heal totally before you can or should lift things. If they don't your port MAY come loose and could possibly(though not always)flip.

4 days from my surgiversary & my band slipped
How did they fix it?

closet cleaning!

2nd prolapse-heartbroken
I prolapsed again yesterday and had to get the band unfilled and meet with a surgeon in the next couple of weeks. My practice says if you prolapse 2 times it will continue to happen and the band needs to be switched out. My stitches holding the flap on my band could have become loose or my body could be rejecting the band. according to my doctor this is the only realize band that they have seen this happen to. Either way I have to really watch it. I don't know what to say. This prolapse came out of the blue. No throwing up or PB'ing. The good news is it it sounds like they are going to be committed to finding a solution for me. The bad news really depressed. I have no desire to anywhere not even to Easter with my family. I did everything right. I have no idea why this happened.

What are you making/taking to Easter dinner
Ideas would be great. We were invited to a Easter gathering where they are going to have ribs, rice, etc. I need to make something that I myself could eat and would love some suggestions. Few people know that I have been banded.

About to give up...
Though your doc can request you pay for the COPY fee for your records, they have to give them to you. I would find a new doc. Don't burn any bridges till you find a new doc, but I think the new port thing is BS. What happens if you have an emergency? Are you going to wait in his office for 2 hours for him to see you? I had a prolapse and my tech lecctured me on why I waited so long to call him. You need to find someone that takes your band seriously so you can feel better!

Chinesse Food?
I would say egg drop soup and possibly some crab rangoons

2 pounds on 2 pounds off......frustrated!!
I agree 400 calories is not enough, but its tricky at the liquid stage since things are salty and nothing sounds great at this stage that you can eat. your body is just learning a ton of new things, be patient and you will glide past the weight that you are battling right now.

sweetspot question
Are you eating the right things that are not famous for getting stuck? Are you chewing to make sure food is small enough?

Franklin Covey
I was in the store today and they have a great weekly exersise/food tracker to go in your planner for under $5. Looks great as it also has you keep track of your water as well. Thought I would share!

port issues???
I had a port issue and had to have it restitched in. The port revision surgery was pretty simple and fairly easy to recover from.

Need to exercise......
Lately I am working out 7 days a week, 2 hours a day. I am trying to overcome a plateau.

At a plateau
I am going though this as well. I go down and then up the next morning. I've stepped it up at the gym, upped my water, and written down EVERYTHING that I've eaten

Health care reform passed
My son is 6 and asthmatic, my mom died of BC at 32 years old. At the moment I am self employed and can not qualify for health insurance so my husband works a job he can't stand to help keep insurance for us. We got life insurance and my 250K policy is 2x as much as my husband's 1M policy. Both of us were overweight when we did the policies, its all my risks that screwed me.

Weight loss goals
Started at 236 and want to end somewhere between 135-145. I started at a size 18 and am currently 161 pounds and between a size 8-10. I was banded in May
-
Did you name your band?
I'm interested in what you named your band and why!
-
WTF?!?!?!?! Really!?!?!?!
Its because of swelling that could occur

Anyone watching....
Do you think she weighs more than the 230? I hope so because that was about my starting weight and I am not nearly as tall as she is! I thought the show was OK, that sandwich the handyman was eating made me want to gag!

Banded almost 2 years and scared...
Your doing great. I agree a slight unfill will really help you out. You don't want to do damage to your band that causes you to need a complete unfill.
