  1. I'm a perv, but unfortunately the only way I get in on it is vicariously. I need to find a boyfriend....
  2. Where is everyone? (one-one-one) (echo)
  3. That sounds ominous!!!! ***Shaking***:) I like to read this thread to know what's going to happen next. Barb, I hope you get your fills just right next time around.
  4. Typically you can't wear underwear or tampons in the operating room. They will, as a matter of fact, remove them for you should you have them when you go in. Medical professionals don't care about a little blood. Not a big deal for them.
  5. I just realized i hijacked your thread. My apologies! Just anxious and curious about what's gonna happen. Sorry! Hope you slept again last night.
  6. Sherri, Funny, Did you guys both get the same band? Do you think that that's the same one I'll get? Hey, check it out- that butterfly's made it halfway down the ticker.
  7. Lol (in a nice way!). It's called a spirometer and it keeps your lungs filled with air instead of the little pockets inside "collapsing" (called atelectasis). It keeps you from developing pneumonia. It however, doesn't get any air out of you, other than making you move the air already in your lungs. Spironolactone is a diuretic! (Water pill) The air in your belly really has no other way out of your body except for you to wait for it to be reabsorbed. You shouldn't pass it or belch it, there aren't any openings for that from the inside. You are like a doughnut- the hole from your mouth to your anus is entirely closed and basically is a long tube through your body.
  8. Just a thought... Stitches in outer skin are ready to come out in 7 days. I would imagine quite a bit of healing goes on in that first week.
  9. Thank you Paula
  10. Sorry about all your troubles. I'm being banded 7/31/06.
  11. Hey, it's july. Have you met with your surgeon yet?
  12. Boo Boo kitty- sounds good to me! Hi to everyone new!
  13. Another thought for you paperbackers... Unless you HAVE to have the paper back... have you tried amazon? Often you can find hardback books that are fairly new for paperback prices. I buy the used hardbacks often because i just can't wait for the paperbacks to come out.
  14. Laura, you're almost exactly the same as me!
  15. Janet Evanovich is wonderful! I love Stephanie Plum too, and Ranger- yummy. I also read all of the Harry Potter books. I heard in an interview recently that she's entertaining the thought of killing harry so that no one can create sequels after she's dead. There's another great series of books by MaryJanice Davidson called undead and... They're terrific. They're about this girl who becomes the queen of the vampires, except she's a normal girl like you and me. I also dig teen lit for some reason, like the Princess diaries are really great read in book form (the movies certainly leave something out), and the Sisterhood of the travelling pants books... i can't wait for the next one to come out. I love patricia cornwell too, kaye scarpetta is wonderful and by the way I totally called the whole benton situation. Also I really like the Stuart Woods series by James patterson, also some of his single books are good too. His women's mystery club series is very good too. I am such a nerd.
  16. I'm 5 ft tall. Currently 164 pounds, down from 189, and want to be 115-125 ish
  17. And a clear liquid at that... Maybe they would help with the post op pain? :) :) (A joke people....)
  18. Hot guy in your pics, you lucky girl! Congrats on third place
  19. This audit is a randomly selected audit to evaluate for CME (continuing medical education compliance). They want a piece of paper saying that I took a class on hiv/aids, domestic violence, and preventing medical errors. I took them, but I moved 5 months ago, and they're in the garage somewhere (I HOPE!) in boxes and I just can't find them. It's not because I did anything wrong or illegal or anything like that. Regarding the band, it's something I want. I took almost two years to make the final decision. I was just freaking out last night I think. Regarding my sister and her fiancee... ugh. I'm going to have to deal with that. I talked to both him and her last night, and they said they understood and that we'd cleared it up, but they sure didn't sound like meant it. They sounded super-ticked with me. I guess the thing to do now is drop it.
  20. Ugh! I am being audited by the board of medicine (just like 869 others just like me, merely a random thing) and I can't find the verification paperwork that they want!!! This is going to cost me $750. And I did it, i know i did.... I'll keep searching tomorrow I guess. Also, I went to visit my family this weekend. My sister was there with her fiance. Now, her fiancee and I have this long-running history of not liking each other (ever since high school), but we've been getting along well lately (I didn't see him for about 5 years in the meantime). Anyway, I thought he said something super condescending towards me and I tried to bring it up. Turns out it causes this huge ordeal, and in the end he swears he didn't mean it like that in the first place. Now I feel like a total a## :embarassed: . Of course, now my sister is peeved at me, and her fiancee things I"m a total hysterical over reacting female. On top of that, I had been seeing this guy off/on for a couple of months, and ended it this weekend. My tire got slashed at work and I'm having to get new tires- of course they had to be special ordered and cost $165 each... (i only need two thank god). Now I"m sitting here wondering about my decision about the band. I only have a bmi of 32.7. Is it worth it? Things have got to get better, right?
  21. The reason for the green onions vs. the white ones is carbs. I did metabolic research center diet for a while and white onions were a "no-no"
  22. Wheetsin, Most of the guys I meet are already married though! I can't find one that's not just a total loser that's not.
  23. Hi Judi, I'm not banded yet, so haven't been there. The doc is Dr. Jeffery Lord in Pensacola, fl. First fill is 350, it includes a consultation. After that 250 (at least that's how I remember it) each time. The nurse I spoke to said they use fluoro each time. I looked him up at the american society of bariatric surgeons, you can find his number there.
  24. I like number one. Liz
  25. I live in the panhandle of florida and have found a physician up here to do it.
