  1. Hey everyone, I'm home! My trip was great and JC while I would have loved to have done some non-Disney fun, we spent anywhere between 8 and 13 hours a day at the parks. My legs and feet were so tired! lol. But it was a great trip! Denise - Did you get a slight unfill? Sounds to me like you were overfilled. Dibaby - I think a first date with kids is weird. I wouldn't do it. Well I've gotta run to a birthday party. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. There was a bit of man-drama this week but I don't think I have the energy to get into it. Let's just say I've been hearing a lot from tattoo boy (gasp!) and that I don't think Mike has realized that I broke up with him. It's shocking just how much he doesn't get it. Alas this is why I am still single.
  2. Manatee I just want to let you know that I am NEVER asked out it person. NEVER. If you take internet dating out of the mix, not since my freshman year in college have I been asked out. I'm a fun, easy-going, decently attractive woman who has her "stuff" together so from my perspective the men are also doing the picking and choosing. And I would say never being asked out is as bad as always being shot down. I think it does the same thing to your psyche. Oh, and for the record. I saw your pics and I would absolutely say yes to a date with you - if you asked. Don't cut yourself short. You're a handsome guy.
  3. Hey everyone! Just got back from Disney and what a blast we had!!! Man, are we pooped though. lol. The highlight definitely was getting a chance to meet Mandy, Abi and Dave. Mandy is sooooo sweet in person and Abi was the cutest thing on the planet. We were immediate friends and even rode together on Expedition Everest. We spent the morning with Mandy and her family in Animal Kingdom and it was just great. THANK YOU Mandy!! It was really great to meet you and your family. Oh, and Soarin' was fantastic! Well I gotta run. Just wanted to pop on and say hi, and let you know that we're home. My guess is you won't hear from Sherry tonight. Her hubby had flowers and balloons waiting for her when she got home. Awww... Not me. I had a text message asking if my phone was broken. Amazing how romantic some men can be. Ugh.
  4. Denise if you're not able to even drink full liquids then I would say you're overfilled. Just watch yourself and be careful.
  5. Oooh, it looks so nice! I'm so excited!!! Mickey Mouse will never be the same.
  6. No, that kind of fell through. But by the way, what's the weather like at night? lol I'm packing today.
  7. Thanks guys - glad you liked it. I had a date tonight with my friend Jeff. He's someone I met over a year and a half ago. We had one date and then his mother died unexpectedly. It was so sad. We've remained friends and will go out every now and again. He's such a nice guy. So it was a nice mellow night tonight. I'm leaving on Sunday for vaca to Disney. When I get back I think I'll rejoin Match. At least I'll have more dating stories for you. lol
  8. Oh, and here's a pic of me with the nose ring. I can't WAIT until I can switch it out for a tiny diamond chip.
  9. haha Denise, at least you're doing it. Hang in there until your appointment! Ok, so I'm back on the market again. I decided to sit back and just take it all in for a while and, at the end of the day, it just wasn't what I wanted. So I broke up with Mike on Tuesday night and, ahem, have a date for tomorrow night. lol. No rest for the weary.
  10. lol, you guys are SO funny! I will post a pic eventually, when I can get a good one. They didn't use an earring gun, he used a needle and stuck a piece of cork up my nose. lol. The needle didn't hurt so bad but it did sting. It was pretty sore for two days and gave me a wicket headache, but now it's barely sore. I like it, but will love it when I can have the little diamond chip in there. They have to piece it with a larger metal stud (no actual ring denise lol) and it's waaaay bigger than what I want. I was told in 4 weeks I can switch it out and they were nice enough to tell me they'd do the first switch out if I wanted to. My parents just shook their head and couldn't believe I did this. My father said just don't wear it to his wake. lol. I'm 33 though, so there is not much they can say about it. Work was great about it. My bosses could care less. I'm sure I'll be the office gossip for the next couple of weeks though, but who cares. lol Leona, glad you're having fun girlfriend! April, I wish I could give you some advice there. The only thing I firmly believe is that we ALL deserve everything we want from a relationship. You deserve someone who loves you whole heartedly. So Mike and I had a good week. He came over Wed and then again last night. He was supposed to go out and work last night but ended up shutting off his phone and spending the night instead. I'm not sure if it was me, or just being really tired, but hey I'll take it. lol. So at least he has shown me that he heard what I said. But honestly, I'm starting to wonder if I'm really that into him now. See what I do to myself? lol. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Well, off to get some exercise. Not JC-type exercise but exercise nontheless. lol
  11. JC that is GREAT news!!! I am SO happy for you! And you know what JC, you totally deserve to weight less than me because I think I'm at the same weight now as I was 6 weeks ago. Ugh! I know if I kicked up the exercise and didn't eat as much junk I'd be doing better. Old demons die hard though. Manatee, all I want in a man is for him to be REAL. I hate all the games. I'm very honest and up front and always mean what I say. But at the same time I understand what Dibaby means. Most guys act one way until they've snagged you, then they settle in and their tune totally changes. It does suck, but I know there are a lot of women out there that do sucky things too. But back to my main point, I think you'll do well being honest and up front with dating. I count my lucky stars when I meet someone who is real. Denise, I think you need to just churn up the courage and say hi to this guy next time you see him. Say that you've noticed you two keep running in to each other and you'd like to introduce yourself. You never know where it could lead. Even if it goes nowhere, you'll brighten someone's day. It's a win-win! So last night was good with Mike. We hung in and ordered a pizza. It was nice. He asked what I was doing tonight and tomorrow night because he's free and, of course, I had plans. lol. Hey, serves him right. lol I have plans with the girls for both nights. Tonight I went with my friend who got a tattoo to commemorate her mom who recently passed away and while I was there, I got a nose ring! Yep. I've wanted one since I was 18 and for some reason, it took me until I was 33 to bite the bullet and do it. Guess I'm really starting to come out of my shell. I'm afraid about how work is going to react but heck, who cares? Life is too short! lol. Tomorrow night we're meeting up with some old high school friends for some drinks. Should be fun!
  12. Congrats April! JC, good luck tomorrow. Just be careful with the re-fills. I want to make sure you are healthy and safe. That is priority #1. Manatee, way to go on the pool party! Next step - dating. Do it! You really do look great and I'm sure the ladies will agree. Leona, I'm glad you haven't missed a beat. I believe we learn some lesson from every relationship and I think it's clear what you have taken from this one. Just be safe, and girl have some fun! You deserve it! So Mike and I have still been a little rocky. I finally ended up telling him flat out if he didn't start showing some effort, then I was done. Low and behold, I think he heard me. lol. But time will tell and honestly, I've decided to just take my time and slow it down a bit. I've remembered that I'm in control. Speaking of which, he's coming over for dinner so I've gotta run. Hope everyone else is doing well.
  13. What? Rockin Roller Coaster is closed?? Dammit! I'm totally bummed. Sherry is thanking her lucky stars, but I am bummed! lol. Mandy I can't wait for Soarin'! And Sherry, it's less than two weeks away. I can hardly believe it! And Mandy we still need to pick a day/time/place to meet. Then we can come back and post pics of us at Disney.
  14. Leona I'm so sorry Matt ended up being a jerk! What happened? You know, I really think it takes a good 3 months before you can decide if a guy is worth really pursuing. That's my personal take. I'm glad you're getting right back on the wagon though! That's the way to do it! Confidence is incredibly sexy. Dibaby taking back your own power is a great feeling! A leopard doesn't change his spots, so I'm glad you took things into your own hands. Hope everyone is enjoying their labor day weekend. I'm sure JC is out there doing some 300 mile jog or bike ride. lol
  15. Congrats Manatee! That is awesome! Denise, I hate being bored too. You should look into joining some clubs or groups or something. It's a great way to meet new people and make new friends! I went out for a nice dinner with my girlfriends last night. One of the hubbies was in the doghouse, so he gave my friend 300 bucks and said take the girls out for a nice dinner. So we got all dressed up, drank martinis, and had good italian food. Girlfriends are the best!
  16. It's just not the same. If it were, I think there'd be a lot of lonely men in this world. lol.
  17. I am perfectly happy without a man in my life, it's just the small little problem of wanting one in my life. lol.
  18. Hi all! I had a wonderful day with Sherry today. We took a day off so we could go to the beach, but then decided to go shopping instead. lol. It was so much fun, even if we did have candy for lunch. We are so looking forward to Disney too. Just 3 more weeks - I can hardly believe it!! Mandy, we have no plans other than lunch with Cinderella on the 17th, so let us know what day would be good for you. Well, sorry this is short but I have a headache and my bed is calling my name. Hope everyone had a good Monday.
  19. JC those boots sound so cool. I bet people are wondering what the hell you are doing out there. lol.
  20. Thanks JC, I really do try to commicate the best I can, probably much to the dismay of the men I date. lol. If I've learned nothing else I've learned that you cannot change anyone. All I can do is tell them what's going on with me, and give them the opportunity to choose to do something about it. If there's a problem and they choose to do nothing towards fixing it, well then goodbye. I'm too old to play games with relationships. And it would be nice to find someone who truly did appreciate me...for anything! lol.
  21. Mandy I love the striped one the best. I think it matches your personality more and is way more fun. Very cute! Ummm...Sherry I have a recipe you goober. I made you mac n' cheese, remember?? lol. But you know my recipes - no exact measurements. But here you go: Half gallon Milk (I usually use 2%). Heat in large pot on stovetop. Don't boil, just warm it. Add Velveeta, Cheddar and American cheese. I usually do a small block of Velveeta, 1/2 a block of cheddar and 1/2 lb of american cheese. Cube the cheese and add it to the milk, stirring until cheese melts. You can fiddle with the amount of cheese or types of cheese depending on your taste. Once cheese is melted add salt, pepper and parsley. Par-boil some egg noodles and put in baking dish sprayed with pam. Cover with cheese mixture, which will be very soupy. Top with breadcrumbs and a little butter and bake at 350 until bubbly, brown and the cheese thickens up. Yep, very band friendly but not so calorie friendly. lol
  22. Congrats on the new truck Manatee! :huggie: I know what you mean about looking in the mirror and still feeling huge. I still just as fat as I always was and it's not until I look at an old picture that I realize that I look better. JC, when I was exercising I was walking, biking, and doing exercise videos. I really need to kick it up and hit the gym. It's hard though - I work long hours and don't get home until after 6 most nights, then I do some volunteer work, and there's always laundry or cleaning to do. I know that it's all just excuses though and that I need to MAKE time for myself. That needs to be my one priority. So....update on my love life. Mike and I are still dating. Haven't had a talk about being exclusive. I think he's just kind of assuming to be honest with you. lol. It's going fairly well and I like him, but we have hit a little bump in the road. He's a workaholic. I understand he owns his own business and there are some times he works day and night (literally) because his business is seasonal. I get that he likes to work and I think this is great. I really do. But, and this is a big BUT, I absolutely have zero interest in being in a realtionship with someone I see once a week. I don't want that. I've done it and it's not fulfilling. I talked to Mike about it last weekend and asked him to be honest with me about how often his schedule is like this. He told me 6 months out of the year, he usually works like a dog. I then explained to him how much I don't want to be with someone who doesn't have time for me and that I'm done sacraficing what I need from a relationship for the other person. I've been there, and I won't do it again. He understood and said it's been a problem in past relationships. Then I told him it was Murphy's Law because it's not easy for me to find someone I really like, and he acted kind of shocked that I said that and then said hey, we can work it out. So I think he thinks I was serious, but I'm not certain. lol. He did call me on Wed and we went for dinner and he spent the night, which was nice, and we're supposed to go out tonight as well although it's 6:30 and he's still out working. Grrr... So I don't know. I'm really struggling with this. I don't need to be with someone 24/7, but I don't want to be in a relationship to be alone either. WHY does this dating crap have to be so difficult?!!!! Ugh!!!
  23. No derby, I didn't I have to sign any kind of statement that I wouldn't throw up again. That's weird. It's not like you can totally prevent that when you're sick. My docs didn't give me medicine to prevent me from throwing up either, but they did tell me if I was worried I could call and they'd give me something. On another note, I've been stalled all month myself. I think it's mostly due to the fact that I stopped exercising and that I've been drinking more since I'm going out more often. My love for watermelon martinis is not helping matters. lol
  24. Hi Jetti! :welcome: It seems just like yesterday that I was where you are now. It goes by quickly for sure! Good luck with everything!
