  1. Big difference - congrats! How much have you lost?
  2. Thanks for the links - I will check them out!
  3. You've done an amazing job in your first year - congratulations!! You've been able to be so successful even with life trials that previously would have probably derailed you. Congrats! You can get this last 10 pounds off for sure!
  4. What were your favorite "meals" on the blended and/or pureed diet stage? My program progressed me to this stage after week one and I'm already getting a bit bored with about a week and half before I can progress. I'd love to hear what helped you make it through this stage. I will add that I do have a few things I enjoy quite a bit, but am looking to add some variety and find some new ideas.
  5. I had one day off medicine and then went right back to taking my pills. I need to spread them out a bit, but have had no issues including the big anti-acid pill they had me take starting the day after surgery. It was pretty scary, not going to lie, but I've had no problems.
  6. You look fantastic - congratulations!!! You've got this next 25-30 pounds!
  7. Yes, the liquids stage is the WORST! Stay strong!
  8. My post-surgery experience was not bad at all. I felt just ok for the first few days but by day 5 I felt great and by day 7 I couldn't even tell something had happened! I have had no issues getting in fluids, no pains with eating, so overall it's been a very positive experience. I was very nervous too and was happy to get to the other side!
  9. As a newly sleeved person you are all giving me a lot to think about and a lot to look forward to. The mind takes so much longer to change than the body. Keep up the great work!
  10. Sounds like you are off to a great start! I'm a little over two weeks out and have realized too that I need to slow my expectations down quite a bit. lol. I lost 7 pounds in the first week and have been stalled ever since. Made me realize very quickly that my body was going decide how it lost weight. I can't control that, only what I put in my mouth and what I do for exercise. I'm getting my water and protein goals in, and am on pureed foods for 2 more weeks. Right now I'm focusing on following the doctor's orders and letting my body heal.
  11. I hadn't given it much but thought but I might! I believe its in December. Are you going to go to yours?!
  12. Ours has one once a year, in December I think! haha!
  13. I'm from MA too, closer to Providence. Had my surgery at Newton Wellesley.
  14. I had no issues with the band other than still being obese. They were able to do it in one surgery thankfully!
  15. I totally get this! I was also done with the band - tired of feeling the pressure in my chest constantly and having to "lube" up healthy foods in order to eat at. So the band was coming out to either way. I was ok with eating small portions and was ready to make changes so I went for it!
  16. My story is almost the exact same - same fears and concerns. I had my revision on the 8th so I'm too early to comment on the differences but after a long process of thinking and debating I decided that I was not going to conquer this life long battle by myself without help. What made me really decide to move forward was the metabolic change that comes with the sleeve. It's so different than what we had with the band. Good luck with your decision process!
  17. I had my follow up at 10 days post op and told them how great I felt. Almost like I had never had surgery. I was warned that around 3 weeks a lot of people hit a wall with exhaustion.
  18. I would say I was an 8. First few days were tough, no complications or issues, just did not feel well. Since day 5 I have been feeling great!
  19. How are these? I had the starbucks egg white ones before surgery and I was so surprised how good they were!
  20. My doctor's orders were as long as I was off the narcotic pain meds I could drive. I felt up to going out about 5 days out. Could have driven before that tough if I had to.
  21. Congratulations! You look amazing!
  22. My gosh, so sorry for all you've gone through! I am happy you are on the other side and getting back to a "normal" life. God is good!
  23. I think this was exactly my issue! I went to full liquids for 24 hours then moved back to purees and almost just licked my spoon and put the spoon down between bites for a couple minutes. Hard to master but it has definitely helped. I've taken too big a bit or eaten too fast a couple of times since and as soon as I feel a twinge, the spoon goes down and I walk away.
