  1. Good luck to everyone going in today and soon! I am a week out and can tell you will feel great by the time you hit one week!
  2. I am 5 days out and feeling pretty good! First 3 days were tough for me, but manageable. I was a conversion from a band so that could impact things. I'm just a tad sore now and mainly my biggest issue is shoulder pain. It seems little better today but it's been the most painful part for me.
  3. You look incredible! Congratulations!! So motivating!
  4. I'm sending you an email as I'd like a secret group for sure! Thanks!
  5. I woke up today feeling much better! The first few days were tough for me, not going to lie. I haven't had taken any pain meds since I got home on wednesday. Right now my only struggle is left shoulder pain and some ocassional stomach cramping, both of which I assume are gas. I have yet to have a BM which I'm sure is not helping things. Lol. Did some stuff around the house yesterday and it felt good to move around. Are others experiencing similar pains??
  6. I called my surgeon's office and spoke to one of the nurses. They suggested it was my tummy telling me I was moving too fast whether it was eating too fast, eating too much at one bite, or eating too heavy of a food. I am going back to liquids for 24 hours to see if that settles things down any. Good luck tomorrow Maggie. Let me know how you make out.
  7. Hello! I am 4 days out from being sleeved and now that I am transitioning to pureed foods per my doctors orders, I am finding I get massive sharp pains when I eat. It comes in a wave and almost feels like a gas bubble moving it's way up. It's mainly localized under my left breastbone. I'm assuming it's either gas or my stomach moving that is causing the pain. Have others experienced this as well??
  8. Puréed stage for me is 2oz at a time but they want us to eat every 2-3 hours.
  9. I'm so glad this has been noted many times. It's good to understand going in that results won't show for a bit and to not lose hope.
  10. I have been getting similar pains and they take my breath away. Sometimes feels like a little spasm that travels up to my shoulder. My guess is gas too.
  11. Wow!! Good for you girl! His loss!
  12. Gas pain was worst for me too. I feel human again today and should be going home soon. Yay!!!
  13. Yesterday was a little tough for sure. Today is starting out better and I know once the anesthesia is out of my system I will feel even better. Happy and excited to be on the other side!
  14. I'm here and waiting to be taken in to pre-op. NOW I'm nervous! Lol
  15. I did thank you! Made it home Friday night just in time to give blood at the hospital to finish my pre-op screening. Today is the day!! Eek!
  16. Yay!!! I'm tomorrow too, 12:09pm (so exact lol). Pre-op nurses said staying on top of pain is the best thing I can do to help myself heal. They said aim to not get above a 4. We spoke about nausea too and they said they would get me some meds before I even went to recovery and I said good. Lol. And I agree with being your own advocate with pain. They got behind on my meds with my c-section and it was the most horrible pain of my life. I'll never let that happen again.
  17. I love the idea of this! There is so much we accomplish in small bouts and it all deserves to be celebrated!! I am getting sleeved tomorrow but I'm SUPER proud of myself for sticking to my pre-op diet while I was stranded in LA 3 days this week due to the storm on the east coast. Had to take an uber to the drug store to get protein drinks. lol.
  18. Good luck to all of us scheduled for surgery tomorrow! I know there are quite a few of us. I am oddly calm.
  19. Same here on the Flinstone Chewables Complete. It's what I plan to take long term too.
  20. I could not stomach any protein drinks when I had my band put in. Bleck. I thought I was doomed but then I tried the premier Protein in chocolate and caramel and I like them a lot. They just have to be very cold. And the premier Protein clear I do like, especially over ice.
  21. I tried the whipped Greek yogurt at the airport yesterday and it was SO good! I am grabbing some for post op!
  22. I think it is completely normal to be nervous. I too have been VERY nervous and wondering what the heck I was doing, even though I've been down this road 10.5 years ago with the band. I kept asking my husband "am i crazy to do this" because I was seriously doubting myself. I finally came to peace with my decision after speaking with the nurse about my biggest concerns and understanding that I've been fighting my weight since I was a toddler and that I'm not going to just wake up one day and beat this thing. I need help, and I am ready for that help. Keep going to the support meetings too, they help a ton! You've got this!
  23. Exciting!! That's my day too - can't believe it's so close!!
  24. Glad to hear you are doing well! I am having my band removed and converted to sleeve on Monday the 8th. Keep us updated on how you are feeling!
  25. Thin like water. I find it tastes best over lots of ice.
