  1. Well, my mother n law gave me some beautiful suits that I really want to wear (especially the red one) and I sing with my family choir. In July we are in concert in Delaware. Last year we were recorded and I look like a hippo. I'm thinking with a total of 40lbs off I would look a lot better on film and not to mention feel a lot better. I don't ever weigh myself at home. I think the scale will make me crazy!!! so I go to the doc off once a month or every 6 weeks. Might buy a scale so I can keep watch on this 10 though. We'll see. WE CAN DO IT.
  2. Thanks. Don't wanna go there.
  3. I know the feeling. I was banded on the 29th of Jan. Have no regrets but I do love some good eaten. My church is having this big dinner on sunday; I just had a fill two days ago ~ I have to make mac and cheese!! MAC AND CHEESE!! I don't even eat pasta any more. Anyway, when I think of the next 30lbs! I can do it.

That 6 mos. will go by so quickly. Next thing you know you'll be lying in the hospital getting prep for surgery. I didn't loose the 10% (thats why we need the surgery). Hang in there.
  5. There you go! Little goals. Thats what I'm doing. I want to have 10lbs off my July 1oth. If more come off than great but ten is the goal. So far I've lost 30 ~ Loose your five girl!!
  6. Plateau or not ~ down 90lbs thats great.
  7. If you had a trainer 24/7, nothing but healthy foods around and $$$ to motivate you!! You'll do it naturally too. We all live in the real world. I wish I could have but I needed some help and thats ok. Sound like you're doing great. Keep up the good work.
  8. In my opion that was way to much!! My doc started with 1.75cc and then 2cc's. Do your doc use a xray or flourascope while doing the fills. Mine do and you can actually see on the screen how much fluid is going through. I'm glad you're feeling better.
  9. Don't get me wrong Cocoa, If a obese person ask me they will get the absolute truth. I have a sister that weigh at least 400lbs. I told her exactly what my plans were. Now some skinny folks just don't under stand why someone would want to go through bariatric surgery. I was always given the Oh you don't have to do that or you know you can die having that surgery. Some have even told me that I'll get too skinny!! As a matter of fact I have a co-worker that had a bypass and at first she told me she just left sugar alone and she's working out. Needless to say that didn't work very long. Another co-worker who was out for a while and suddenly lost a large amount a weight will not admit it until this day. I would say that 98% of my church family know that I had surgery. I guess I can sum this up by saying there is no shame to my game and I'm truly happy with my lapband and the thought of my new life!!
  10. Soooo Excited for you!!!! keep up the great work!!!:w00t::confused:
  11. Hang in there I promise it do get better. I do find myself fustrated when I can't eat more!! But this is why we made this life change. JUST STICK TO THE PLAN:blink: Thats what I tell myself daily.
  12. I know exactly what you mean. In my own family I had no problem with comments like "You don't need to do that" I did have several co workers say that to me. They are usually the skinny ones with no prob. breathing or walking!!! Sadly, you can't share it every one. Those that don't know and ask what am I doing I tell them I'm eating less and moving more. Which is true!! Any way do you and best wishes!!
  13. If it's really really bad I would call someone tonite!!! But then again I tend to panic but this sound really serious.

I was banded on 1/29/09. In my mind the weight was just going to fly off. I know! wishful thinking of a FAT GIRL!! It's been eight weeks and two fills and for once in a very long time I'm feeling good. I haven't weigh myself since one week after surgery. I lost only a measley 7lbs. I felt so horrible. I can't really say I see a big change after 26lbs off. I mean yeah some clothes are fitting better but I have a very long way to go. If I can keep this trend in two months I'll have another 25 off reaching my first goal. Soon I'll see a lot less of me!!

  16. You know what!! every once in a while with something dry or a bit spicy I have to take a little sip just to calm it down ~ never chug that will cause problems. Other than that I will definately wait the 30mins. I'm still getting use to that. While eating out I don't order a drink so I'm not tempted.
  17. You're only human!! I call it my fat girl mentality. I don't know when you were banded but maybe u need a fill. I had two and yes I still get hungry. I'M LEARNING SELF CONTROL EVERYDAY!! U CAN DO IT.
  18. I would listen to the Dr. mine actually want 72 hrs of liq. diet. I can only stand 48hrs. Try some soup nothing creamy.
  19. God forbid!! No chicken:crying: I don't eat pork and after hearing so many horror stories about beef I don't eat that either. Oh well!! one food at a time.
  20. Im on my second fill and have no problem with chicken. I just make sure I take little bites and chew very very well. I also make sure I take my time eating anything. I hate the thought of vomitting especially in public. So remember take your time and chew well.

I too am new to the banding game. I was banded on Jan 29th of this year. It's been a long process ~ my ins. req. the 6mo. diet also. So I met with a nut in my surgeons off. monthly for six mos. I've only lost 20lbs thus far. I shouldn't say only because that is a lost and not a gain. For some reason I was thinking more would have been off by now. I'll take my 20 and the inches too. I'm so happy with this new life!! I don't eat bread, pasta or any type of "goodies" Being 300lbs is not cool at all. I wish you the very best and God Speed!!!
  22. I too am a slow looser~I was banded in Jan and have lost 20 lbs. Was I expecting more? For some reason yes, but 22 in a year I would be pissed. I feel so bad for you. You tried so don't beat yourself up about it. It sound like you are going through it. I would definately remove the band and move on to another WLS method. God Bless you both!!!
  23. I had a friend that said he got bread caught and the experience was awful. That totally turned me off from eating bread. I did however, tried a small bite of flat bread which I made sure was moisten with my salad dressing. I have no problem with rice at all; although I have another friend that nearly choked on rice. With anything you eat just chew chew chew!!!
  24. I was banded on 1/29/09 had one fill and have some restriction. I haven't tried steak ~ because I'm afraid it will get stuck. No longer eat bread for the same reason. Actually, I don't miss either!!! I love shrimp and have no problem eating it!! I can eat anything I want I just make sure I chew everything well and try my very best not to eat and drink. Happy eating!!!:w00t:
