hi everyone does anyone want share there stories on the cost of their surgery. im looking to have the lap band done and justed wanted to know what is the average price . so far from what i have read its pretty much all over the place. ive been quoted as a private health patient its 6000.00 with a 1 year wait or 9000.00 straight away in a public hosp. this is at sios in ashfield.

hey tomjerry im on the waiting list because i only joined private health insurance last month with nib. for the lap band surgery there is a 1 year wait before the insurance will kick in. and yeah i would like more info please on what doctor your seeing. im new to this do i put my email address on here ??

hi tomjerry how did you manage to get the price down so low. ive just started private health insurance and was told its going to cost around 6000.00 with a year on the waiting list. or i can pay 9000.00 and have the surgery in as little as three weeks time in a public hospital without the waiting list as a private health patient. whats your secret???

hi im looking to get the lapband surgery myself. two weeks ago i went to see the surgeon and was told all i needed to do before the op is have blood test and go on optifast two weeks before the op. how easy, i was so suprised i thought there was much more to it.

thanks for the reply big damo so what is the correct wording everyone is talking about. im just about to get my doctors to write some letters for me. i would love someone to give me the tips on the correct wording so i can pass it to my doctors.

hi ( first timer ) when you apply from your APRA fund. do they send you the payment or do they send the payment directly to the surgeon ? and do you have to have an op date before they release the payment ? because im thinking of trying to withdraw from apra myself.
