hi dose anyone know if you have to attend the lap band seminars prior to surgery. ist just up to you?

I had to attend a seminar in Melbourne for the Avenue hospital before they would see me. I am so glad I did because it was incredibly helpful! :-)

Most surgeons now ask their patients, or prospective patients to attend seminars prior to banding so they get some idea of what is involved living banded.

Yeah... could not make appointment with surgeon until I had been to seminar. It is so you get alot of the information beforehand and they dont have to go over the same things 1000 times - fair enough too!

No I didnt have to attend the seminar they held at my clinic. I did go though and so glad I did. I pretty much knew all of the info but they also had a patient who was done a year ago and that was the best! I loved her and her story and it was great. Just keep up with the online info and you'd be fine.
