Awesome!!! Were you ever nervous about being put to sleep?

I'm considering dr. Spivak for my lapband surgery. My BMI is 32 and I would like to get to a healthy BMI. I have recently lost 27 pounds with diet, exercise and and diet pills under a doctors care. I have been doing research concering the band for some years and I feel that the Band would be right tool for me. I have no health issues; other than just being fat. Looking great is not about being a size 4, it's really about how you feel. Therefore, I do not feel healthy being the size that I am. I do not feel good in my clothes and I'm ready to do something about it. I'm really nervous about being put under. The only surgery that I have had was a c-section wich was done with local sedation. Does anyone else fear being put under or other complications?

Horrible!!!!!! After I left I spke with some that works in the insurance department and she said that there is no way that Blue Cross Blue Shield trs active care would approve me because 233 is my highest!! I"m going to save my money and go to dr. Ortiz in Mexico. He is awesome!! He wrote the book lapband for life.

Good for you!!:clap2: Did the doctor take carre of the polyps? Are you doing a liquid diet? When is your first fill? What was your BMI for the past five years. Hi, I wanted to tell that one of the teachers had polyps in her colon. She had them removed and she is doing great. It wasn't a big deal. The main thing was to have them removed before they tearned into something else. I have always been over weight ;but not always morbidly obesse. I'm going through True Results in Houston. There are four doctors with this company. I'm worried about the 5 year history. My BMI is forty althoug many people say I don't look it. Back in 03 my BMI was only thirty. It started to go up over the years. I had a baby on Valentines Day FEB 14th. 2007. I had a c-section so I hope that does not effect me. I was 205 pounds before the baby. The funny part is that I'm only 5'3 at 237 pounds. In the past I would tell people that I was 5'5. I think my doctors may have 5'5 on the records. My grandfather argued with me and told me that I was shorter than 5'5. I was short but didn't realize it because I always wore shoes with high heels. He measured my height with his tape measure and I was in shock. I cried! I cant' believe I weigh that much at 5'3. I do not have any co-morbities but I have struggled with weight all of my life. I have researched and read the book Lapband for Life three times. I'm ready to use this as a tool and start a new beginning. I'm currently sperated from my husband and it's still going downhill. I think it's for the best. Anyway I'm ready!!! The center True Results does everything for you. They will also do the 6 month supervised diet. Questions 1. Do you think that I have a good chance of being approved? 2. Do you have to be morbid obesse for all five years? 3. Do you think having the baby will affect me? I forgot to tell you that my beautiful son Dillon was a suprise. I was actually trying to loose weight with taking the b-12 shot and diet pills. They were putting something in the shot; some fertility stuff to help you loose inches. I got pregnant fast. I don't regret it I love my son very much! 4. How long did the process take? 5. I would love for it to be a new beginning. Do you go to the same doctor to do fills? If approved I'm hoping that I won't have to go to far

Hello All, I have an appointment in Houston on Nov. 19th for a Diagnostic Appointment. The center that helps with the approval process is True Results. They explained that they will help you get everything the insurance:help: company will want. That includes the 6 month supervised diet. My BMI is about 39.9. I think it has to be 40 or higher without co-morbities. I do not have any!! I have had acid reflux in the past; but that does not count. The center lets you choose from four doctors. Dr. Speigel and Spivak are two. Another one is Dr. Frank Felts. (Not familiar with him). Anyway I have done several research on the band and read the book lapband for life three times. I really feel that I'm ready for this. I'm afraid of the surgery. I had a c-section 8-months ago. There were no complications but I'm wondering if this would affect me having the surgery. HELPPPPPPPPPP! Hoston and beaumont people I have bluecross blue shield trs active care. I am a teacher and I need a doctors name that would help in recommending me for this surgery. I have been with my current PCP for 5 years she will not help me. I need to know of doctors in this area that would help.
