  1. Sorry I've been MIA. We went to a St Patty's parade this morning, which was fun - kids had a blast! Getting a massage this afternoon with my Valentine's day gift cert - yay! Tomorrow is open - probably visiting the ILs, going grocery shopping, cleaning - FUN STUFF! LOL. I fortunately only had to do the preop diet for one week, and it hasn't been too bad. I've grown to despise most of the foods out of boredom and am sooooo excited for pureeds - VARIETY - in just a couple days! I'm down 10 pounds in the 5 days so far, so thats pretty exciting...and motivating! I can manage to get myself in a tiz if I analyze the surgery too much, but mostly I'm just ready for Monday morning!!!
  2. How's everyone doing? I start the preop diet on Monday. Any great tips?
  3. Yay for all the Buckeyes!! I'm from Cincy and my doc is Dr Curry too! Congrats on your new bad, Peggy. Do you blog? Would love to hear about your journey!
  4. Thanks for all the responses, everyone! I really appreciate the insights, encouragement and support.
  5. Hi, Everyone! I'm so excited to have found ya'll (from Ohio, near Kentucky - LOL). Had my nutrition class today and am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Curry on March 16. Starting the preop diet on 3/9, following an out of town weekend when which I intend to eat whatever I want!!! Is that bad???? Please, please, please share any negatives - otherwise, this is my plan. LOL! What else can I share? I weigh....OMG cannot believe I'm going to type this....256...and my initial goal weight is 170, although I really want to get down to 150. I don't believe I've been there since...grade school. Ouch. Anyway, looking forward to "meeting" you all and wish everyone the best of luck!!! LapLady09
  6. I would love to be your buddy, but not sure how much I can offer as a mentor, since I'm a newby too. Hopefully we can find a mentor here as well, but certainly feel free to contact me if I can help in any way.
  7. Thanks for the welcomes and wow - congrats on your weight loss!! I have to say that I'm stuck in the post "I hate it when people post just to post....." - only on page 7, but OMG am I amused!! As far as the wait...I was pleasantly surprised with my sooner than later date, so I'm not too anxious yet. (Keyword - YET). Plotting my "last meals" in the weeks to come! Is that bad?
  8. Hi, all! I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 31 year old female, scheduled for LB surgery on 3/16 by Dr. Curry. I had my nutrition class today and start my preop diet on 3/9. I'm not one to wish time away, but am anxiously awaiting my 32nd bday on 4/15 (5 days after my first fill!).
  9. Hi! I'm a 31 year old, married female from Ohio, who works in IT. I have 115 pounds to lose and am scheduled for LB surgery on 3/16. Anyone care to adopt me?
  10. I realize its probably personal preference, but which do folks tend to favor - watermelon or lemon cream?
  11. I'm scheduled for Lap surgery in March and have my NUT appt next week, so presumably some/most of my questions can be answered then....but I'm anxious...and excited to have joined this forum! So, here goes; thanks in advance!! 1. Caffeine - Is it a requirement to avoid caffeine short and long term? 2. Barium - What is this that I've heard horrid things about?? 3. C-Section - How does recovery from Lap compare to a C-section? 4. Surgery - My doc markets that they can get you in and out in 84 minutes....did I misunderstand? Most "best cases" that I've heard are arrive at 9, leave by 2. What is realistic? 5. Work - How much time off do most people plan for with an office job? Thanks again!!
