Question about my Port
Hi everyone I was banded in April 09 and I have been having a wonderful time losing weight feeling fantastic about myself and having so much more energy. But last night I felt that my port was a bit sore - a bruised feeling and then I felt it and it seems like it has moved from where it was, ie above the scar instead of below. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this bruised feeling or the port moving this far into the banding? Should I go and see my doctor - there is an appointment booked for 4 weeks time, but just thought I would put it out there to see if this is a common thing or not. Thanks - love reading about how everyone is going. Well done everyone! Lou xox

The fat girl at the party.
What can I say but guys can be little ***** sometimes but girls can be to them as well. I completely agree with BEK1986 - walk in with your head held high, smile, laugh and don't let them get to you. If you want to dance and no one is asking you, dance with the old man - it could be fun! Thats what you're there for to have fun and life is full of surprises. You can't expect anything but surprises and thats what makes life so interesting. The cute boy may be watching you have so much fun but is too shy to ask you to dance - why don't you ask him? They have to put up with rejection from us girlys so sometimes they just don't ask. Live your life girls - fat, thin, or normal. Don't let your weight put your life on hold. Believe me I have done that for too long. Just smile and know that you are doing something about that part of things and join the party! xox

feeling "full"
Hi - I was banded on April 24th and I had the most horrible chest pains last night - so I came on here to find out why. I obviously ate too fast and not enough chewing. Boy oh boy - thought I was having a heart attack :cursing: - not that I know what that feels like :cursing:. So - here is the good thing I have learnt a lesson and now I wont do that again. I had a Japanese Bento box - which I used to be able to inhale - yum yum, but yesterday could only do half - I thought that I no longer had any restriction so I would be able to do it. I am seeing my surgeon this afternoon and hopefully I will get a fill soon - haven't asked enough questions I have decided. But thanks for your help. :cursing:

70 lbs gone FOREVER
Hi Debbie You are doing great!! I was banded on Friday 24th April - feeling a bit sore still, but been going for walks to get me moving. How long did it take you to get really moving? You may be due for some updated pics I think . Thanks for the continued inspiration. Lou

One week and one day banded!
Lovey, your blogs are sensational!! This has answered so many question marks I have had in my head. I re-read our book during the week (seminar book) - not enough answers. Think you may need to write a book for everyone. Lou

And now we are at the business end of band......
Hi Megsy Just saw your b & a pics you have posted. Congratulations!!! You are doing brilliantly. I was banded on Friday at the Avenue in Melbourne, I understand completely what you are saying, I am obviously not up to that stage yet - still on the fluids, but I have a feeling this is how I am going to be. The last few months I have been looking on menus when we go out to dinner and searching to find what i'll be able to have post LB. Keep us informed how you go - Im sure you will be fine - you are doing so well already that you will find a way to work around it. Lou

The deed is finally done!
Hi Lili Thank God!!! I am so pleased you put on a brave face - I think I may have talked myself into the fact that I will be okay. In a lot of pain but we went for a coffee after surgery and then wandered around at home - was okay until yesterday - sad sacks hit. and sore as anything on my shoulder and war wounds. Being a day behind you I could sleep on my side and tummy last night - what a beautiful sleep. Did you get shoulder pain? - that seems to be my worst part at the moment. Loved the blog - told everyone not to visit on Friday night - thanks, Jim came in, but I was in la la land so he didn't stay long. Sister called and kept falling asleep on the phone. A laugh a minute I was . chat soon Lou

Lordy Lordy - never thought I was a whoose
In a bit of pain today - lap band in on Friday and wish I had asked for harder drugs to take home. Panadeine all I took - hmmm - decided I am too sensible at times. Thought that was the best thing - don't cover the pain - let it happen - thinking I had a high pain thresh hold. Uh uh no no no lou lou - no high pain threshhold for you . . . Sent Jimmney home so I can wallow in my own pain watching dvds all day - :blushing: and the stockings - they hurt more than the shoulder. how can we put them on without a crinkle what we have 5 holes in our gut???? took them off this morning with pain from the stupid crinkles - (love the fact that I can moan and grumble on this and there is a chance that no one will see it ) Here I was thinking I would be a brave sole and - there you go - I'm NOT!!!:tongue_smilie::thumbup: Other than that I had a lovely note saying that it is the start of my new life - and it is. So I have had my grumble and noted my disappointment with myself - by being a whoose. Now I will continue on some self affirming positive thinking thought processes. Have to remember what they were again. :w00t::rolleyes2::rolleyes2: But no I am excited and love the fact that went to a beautiful french coffee shop this morning and had a black coffee and absolutely no desire to eat anything!!! Now that is something! So yes, I will get through the nest few days and I will begin this journey with positive thoughts of healthy living and loving the fact that I am about to go through a journey of my wardrobe. I have clothes that will fit me for the next 20 kilos (lost 10 so far before surgery) so slowly but surely my wardrobe will start to lessen as the fat clothes get placed in the brotherhood bin. Loving the fact that I will have a small wardrobe of clothes to choose from instead of a shop with 6-10 items of every size!! So off I will go on my journey and I will check in with more positive thoughts soon. :smile2:

Practicing not drinking with dinner - any suggestions??
Thanks Shaggs  Great advice. I will practice again tonight - the rush of food going through the band sounds a bit ordinary. If I go back to a question that you posted, I think it was something like "would you do it all again?" Don't quote me :tongue_smilie: Would you? You don't have to answer - just interested to find out from someone on the other side. Have a great weekend. Lou

Optifast is fast!!!
Today I went to see the doc & to do the respiratory tests - pre surgery. I got on the scales and I have lost 2kg since they weighed me last Thursday!!! What is that?? I started Optifast on monday - so as they say - it's fast :sneaky: Since I have decided to do this i have lost 4.5kg and now another 2 - thats 6.5kg (14.3 pounds) in a month! I think it's a bit in the mind as well - I have finally found some relief from my stress of being "obese" beautiful word that it is . So in my mind I am thinking this could be the last time that I have to put all this effort into losing the weight - it's not going to come back to me - I wont ever need to send a search party out for it - it's gone - never to return. pheww - sayonara !!! I am trying to get as much off as I can before my surgery - my surgery has just been booked - a bit later that I thought it would be - 24th April. More time to get cracking. :tt1: Took my fat photos last Sunday, so Im all set - thinking the fat photos may not get displayed here - I saw them and realised I have been deluding myself - I am bigger than I thought - I knew i was big - but not that big!!!! :w00t: Till next time x
