Good Morning L.Vine, Here is one vote for the best thing I have ever done for myself! It was a very difficult dicission for me because I am "self pay." This is my story: I saw an old friend and could not believe it was really her.We had worked together and often talked about our struggle with our weight. She was 100 pound lighter than a year before. I went home and told my Husband about her.I left it at that knowing we could not afford it. A couple weeks later my Husband saw an ad on TV about the surgery. He looked at me and asked if that was what I wanted to do. Of course ,I said YES ,as soon as we win the lottery. He came over to me and said," if this surgery only gives me one more day with you it is worth it." I did my homework and was banded Dec12, 2007. I am down 110 pounds and feel like I am 25 ( I am really 48.)My Mom is super obese and very sick because of it. I saw myself following her to the sad place. It has been difficult at times, but I am very happy I did it. Now when I win that lottery I have a couple people picked out to gift them a band. I wish you the very best. It really is a wonderful journey. I have posted pictures if you would like to take a look. Please stay in touch!!!
  4. Hi Linda . . . sorry I didn't see your message sooner . . . I don't come on here that much . . . you are looking great! I really have to find my camera . . . it is lost "somewhere" in my room . . . if the 2 year old grandson didn't scarf it! Keep in touch!

    Today is my Bandiversary!!

Oh ...You really shouldn't feel that way! You are winning the battle. Life is about the big picture. You are going through a lot right now so don't be so hard on your self! Hug your babies and yourself, put a smile on everyday and all the pieces will come together! Thinking of you and sending good wishes your way!
  6. Good Morning Christasha,

Thank you for replying. You look wonderful.I love your smile! It is contagious! You could use some more pictuers though! Time to show off Girl!! Please stay in touch!

  7. Hello Dec 2007 bandsters, I just found this web site. I sure wish I would have known about it 14 months ago. It is so wonderful to hear how others are doing with their bands. I am proud of every single one of you! Please add me to you 2 year anniversary celebration. I was banded Dec 12, 2007. I have lost 110 pounds and have a new life! Nothing could have prepared me for such success. I didn't think there was anything that would work for me! I am so grateful!
  8. About exercise..I hate it. I always have. But, I plug in my mp3 player and power walk 30 minutes 5 days a week. I take my lab with me so he can run around too. If the weather is nasty I hop on the treadmill. It gives me a better workout then walking the pasture. I look at it as exercising my heart not me! LOL!! I am very excited for you! You hang in there! Your life is about to change! Stay in touch!!

  9. I have not been banded yet, I have hoops to jump thru for Aetna. I'm trying to do the 3 month multidisapplinary. I'm a little behind with the exercise program cuz of life issues, so I'm looking to be done with the hoop mid May, then just wait for insurence to aprove. I saw one of your other comments to someone. Did you really only walk 30 min a day? Nothing else? I view having to be a workout queen in order to lose my weight.

  10. Hello Margotoner, Congratulations on your surgery. I was also banded by Dr. Fox and adore him and his staff. I was really sore for about 5 days and then was able to finally walk without holding my tummy. Give yourself some time. Don't forget it is real surgery and there is healing to be done. Good luck on your journey and please stay in touch. I had surgery 14 months ago and have lost 110 pounds. I am a new woman! You will be too!

  11. Wow! I just looked at your pictures and you look wonderful!! Awesome job!!

  12. Hello Hunters Mom,

Thank you for the nice comments.I tried to follow all my doctors advice. I walk 30 minutes a day, drank 2 protein drinks per day (1 now), Ate only 1/4 cup of food at a setting, which makes me feel full and take my vitamins and calcium. I am thrilled to have myself back again. I congratulate you for doing this for your self! It is not always easy, but it is so worth it ! This will be a wonderful journey for you! Just keep smiling and know this time you will win the battle! Please stay in touch! I would love knowing how you are doing along the way. When is your surgery planned?

  13. Thank you Spud.mama for the nice comment. Have you been banded yet?

  14. Your pictures are INSPIRING!!

  15. Whoa! You look great! Congrats! I have lost 56 pounds in 7 months (scheduled for 3rd fill next month)... I agree... everything is simplier and MORE FUN! I am riding my horse again (wouldn't get on the poor thing before and still won't ride her hard yet! lol!) and I am looking forward to summer! Keep up the good work! I don't know what your goal was, but it looks like you have arrived!
