  1. I LOVE my Curves! Everyone is super nice and the staff is super attentive. Although the last post does state how boring it can get, and I can see what they mean - In my opinion, it is just up to you - to push yourself harder. Instead of walking in between machines, RUN for those 30 seconds, it really does make a difference. Good Luck!
  2. Maybe ask if you can have more of a fill? Your doctor seems much more conservative than mine. Good Luck!
  3. If your liver is already enlarged - maybe let your doctor know about the Wendys. I can't imagine just ONE meal would make all that much difference, but you never know. If your doctor chooses to reschedule, so be it. Keep your chin up! You can do it!!
  4. Mom2two- Do you actually vomit or is it PB? Just curious - these type of complications are what scares me the most. I only PB if I eat too fast, too big of bites, or don't chew well. I'm guessing yours was much more severe than this??
  5. Hello! I would like to join your weekly thread. I weigh once a week on Wednesday, so I'll be a couple days behind...but that's okay! I just had my second fill. My weight loss has slowed down to 1 -2 lbs per week. My doctor said that is where it should be....so I guess that is where it will stay. HOWEVER..... I would really like to speed this up! LOL Anyway- have a great week all. -Malissa
  6. Jacqui, I love the way you explained that!! I really enjoy reading your posts and learn so much from them. Question- Do you drink any juices? For example grapefruit juice is good for you - but ack! the natural sugar carbs are soo high....
  7. Just wanted to say you look GREAT! I hope I can be a success story one day.
  8. Joined Curves and doing great on food choices. I go for my 2nd fill next week. Enjoy the weekend!!
  9. I have the wii - but not the wii fit. Will the game still work??
  10. Always eat your Protein first. I know it can be hard when it is so hot, but it really is a must. Living down here in Florida also causes me to swell sometimes. Oh the heat!!! Take care and good luck with your fill.
  11. That is GREAT! Funny how eating too little can make you NOT lose weight. LOL Hope things continue to go well!
  12. CONGRATS! That is great - keep up the good work!
  13. This was a very interesting thread to read. I have quite a bit of weight to lose, so I had all options available to me. I chose the lap band because it was less invasive. Could there be future complications? Sure. Would I select the bypass or sleeve as a revision in the future? No. Personally, it just scares me. I don't want them cutting off my stomache. If something ever happens to my band - I will have it removed - but that is it. I just hope I can maintain the weight loss. Best wishes for all - regardless of what type of wls they had.
  14. Just wanted to say CONGRATS! Keep up the good work.
  15. That happened to me too. I find that unless I eat between 1,000 - 1,200 calories, my body holds it all. I think it is that starvation mode thing... Good Luck! P.S. I also use livestrong.com to track my calories.
  16. I don't have the Wii fit - but we do own a Wii. Can I use "my fitness coach" with just the regular Wii since it doesn't use the board?
  17. jlray - Yep....you are a Lucky Loser! Glad everyone is doing well. I joined Curves on Friday so I can make sure I'm getting the excercise. I also bought a new bike - but made my husband replace the seat with the biggest one I could find. I call it my Bertha seat. LOL Anyways - let's all keep up the good work!
  18. If you are referring to the 6mo supervised diet - it is pretty standard for most insurances. It basically consists of meeting with your PCP once a month, weighing in, and discussing weight loss. Good Luck!
  19. Mine also includes the pre-op diet. I actually considered my surgery consultation - "Day 1" of the rest of my life....
  20. I just joined Curves yesterday. Getting ready to go again this morning! Initially I was going to join the other gym around the corner from my house. But when I pulled up, I felt very uncomfortable with the people walking in. These huge beefy guys! I decided to sit in the parking lot and watch who goes in and out. The majority of the customers were men - ugh. The final straw was a man who pulled up in a jeep. He was hot - no lie - big tan arms and all. I quickly reversed my car and went straight to Curves! I personally don't think I will ever be able to work-out with that many good-looking men. LOL Once and if I outgrow Curves, it will probably be an all women club for me.
  21. I gave up all simple carbs (of course cake and such is okay on "special" occasions) and feel great. I struggled at first, but now I don't even miss it! Here is a sample menu: Fiber One, oatmeal, or Egg beaters for Breakfast Brie cheese for Snacks (high in fat, but LOVE it!) Lean meat & veggies for lunch & dinner A couple Protein shakes throughout the day Dessert is sugar free Jello with sugar free whipped cream I track my calories on the dailyplate.com and make sure I eat between 1,000 to 1,200. For some reason, the scale won't move for me if I go under that... Good Luck!
  22. My gas pain seemed to last about 3 weeks. I'm not sure why I couldn't shake it. My stomache is big - so maybe it required ALOT of gas to fill it? LOL Anyway, I walked alot and took Gas-X strips and it helped it go away. Take Care & Good Luck!
  23. Oh my! I would have been freaking out. Since he gave you his cell number, don't hesitate to call him if you need to.
  24. Just wondering how everyone else is doing and how your 1st fill went. I have 4.2cc in my 10cc band. Hope all is well with each one of you.
  25. I went for my first fill today. She said she always starts with a standard 5cc and then had me drink some water. It felt a little funny so she removed some. This process seemed to work and I'm left with 4.2cc. I'll be on liquids until Friday.
