You could personalize your problem by giving your new stomach a name. Mine is Miss Tummy, and she is the boss of me. Believe me, if she does not like something...she gives it right back or makes me suffer at least four hours. My own well-being depends on how I take care of her.

Yep, loose rings happen. It's a great feeling, as long as you don't lose them. Hey Jennifer, since you're two weeks out now is the time to warn you about.... The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. If/when you stop losing on the scale, please be assured that you're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or more. But don't worry -- after that, the weight will start falling off if you stick to your program. If you're interested, here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again like crazy!

@@D.Lo another thing I'd like to share with you is something that I try to apply to all areas of my life and I hope to be able to apply this to my WLS journey as well. As a life coach I have used this as a way to work with my clients in the past. It's a quote by John Maxwell that says "Your attitude determines your altitude". Meditate on that for a moment. The future and how we perceive it is really in our own hands. Instead of saying "I really do hope that it works", say to yourself, "This will work for me because I'm going to make it work for me." It changes the whole dynamic of the negative thought process. Hope that helps!

Thanks @@nprcowboy I also spoke to a lady at my Dr. office and said they do not test for nicotine. Still am quitting but takes pressure off a bit. PHEW!!!

@@Jacqbult , I got them from Amazon were under $10 for like 5 or 10 of them.

I'm sweating myself. I had my 1 week pre-op / pre-admission testing today. I last smoked last Saturday night after an argument at home and was stressed. Prior to that was a few days smoke free, so not too long. I had been trying on and off for the past couple of months. I read up online that you can detox by drinking a gallon of Water a day for 4 days. So I had 4.5 days before my testing today. I also ordered pee strips that test for cotinine/nicotine and I tested negative this morning before going to the hospital. They did not do a urinalysis but did draw blood. I will be on pins and needles until my surgery next Thursday as I wont know if there are any problems unless they call and they can call anytime (meaning they wont call to tell me all is a GO for surgery after today). I did read that nicotine is in blood shorter than in urine so I am cautiously optimistic. keeping fingers crossed. I think you will be fine if you stop now.

I finally just said...I want more from a relationship and we are wasting each others time. I went on to say the ball ins in his court and moved back to my Apt full time. With in 2 weeks he was back and committed and we have been married for 14 yrs.

Not sure if they test for nicotine, I also smoked for many years but I quit like 2 months ago, still using a vapor e cig..but zero nicotine fluids.
My surgery is also on the 24th, go for blood work and EKG on 11/7
P.S. - I got so mad about something today that I wanted one, I went out in the warehouse to ask the delivery guy for a cig, but he had already left, I guess I was saved.

SAME HERE!! That was a real eye opener for me too. I think I also don't see my weight when I look !in the mirror. Believe me I KNOW I am overweight but I don't think I have allowed myself to see the true reflection staring back at me. I know in a year from now when I see a picture of how I am now I will be like "holy Sh*T I didn't realize I was THAT big

@@Eclectick my thoughts are that he is telling you straight up, he just wants you as a friend and not as a spouse or real relationship.
Move out, get your own place.
You can stay friends with him if you want, but you're not giving yourself a chance to find a real relationship as long as you are living with this man in this quasi-relationship/friendship.

You guys will get a kick out of this story: I met this guy about 5 years ago, we started off as friends which turned to friends with benefits, while all this was going on..he kept telling me we were just friends....well we did EVERYTHING together including 1.5 yrs later moving in with each other but it only lasted about a year when problems arose with his adult kids (that's another story) but I moved out...we didn't talk to each other for about 6 months I actually was so mad at him for the way things went down, but anyway.. from what I heard, he was miserable after I left but didn't hesitate to have sex with every female he could find, including with the 2 most hated women in my life.
We started talking again, and became "weekend" friends with benefits AGAIN, eventually I was asked to move back in...I hesitated but since I fell so head over heals for him the first time..I couldn't let go. Little did I know, when I moved in..the sex stopped...no kissing, no hugging...nada...so I asked him...um..whats up? He said living together is one thing...he didn't want things to get complicated by having sex since we are just friends. I was like in shock..now that I had given up my apartment to come to this?..I told him, had I known you were going to do this..I wouldn't have moved in...no response from that.
Anyway...I let it go..but we have been living together now a little over 2 years...we do EVERYTHING together, we sleep in the same bed..we go to family outings (both sides) together..he goes to the store and actually thinks of me...he buys me some of my favorite goodies I like....we actually have a friendship that is 100% similar to a marriage, everyone we know...introduces us as boyfriend & girlfriend and he doesn't correct them. .but yet to him..we are just best friends.
He is so supportive of my surgery....and knows that I am so excited about this...being thinner and healthier that I am afraid that when I do lose weight he might start getting closer to me..would I like that? sure since I love him so much..but why wont he admit that we actually have a relationship? Was it my weight preventing him from announcing to everyone he was in a relationship with a fat girl?...is he just a commitment phobe? Or will this be my chance to actually find someone else...who knows.
Kinda weird huh? would love to hear your thoughts on that icky situation!!

Welcome to the " Holy crap WHAT IF club" I am the current President LOL! All those things you mentioned have gone through my mind too. I am waiting on approval too. I, like you, wonder what my body will be in a year!

Just got the call from the insurance company. I'm approved! Can't believe they only took five days to approve it. Now time to call the doc!!
