  1. My bands already filled up to it's max.
  2. I had my surgery in March '09 and I've got sucked back into my old eating habits and need help getting out! I've tried on my own for about 5-6 months now, and it's not getting any better. I'm currently 7 lbs from my surgery weight, and starting to get depressed. Lost my job in Sept. so that's not helping me much either. I try and do portion control and not drink anything around my meal time, but it just seems like 40 minutes to an hour later, I'm hungry again! It seems like right now, I'm at a dead end and getting no where. My insurance switch and now does not cover this so I can't go back in to see my doctor. So, does anyone no of any good and helpful support groups online? I looked on here, but couldn't find any. Thanks so much!

  4. Okay thanks. I wasn't sure because the process for me was so much easier than it probably will be for her!!!
  5. So, my mom is thinking about getting the lap band and she was wondering where in Minnesota she could go to get it. Which doctor would everybody recommend having her go to?
  6. Well, I have an appt with the dr. tomorrow, so once I find out, I'll let you know!
  7. I have been trying to figure out my "new stomach" since my last fill, but I can't understand it. I don't know how much was in my band the day of surgery, but last month they put in .6cc's. Depending on what kind of food it is, like Soup, I get full quick. But on other food's like sandwich's or pizza (I caved this week for pizza  ), I can eat.....forever, until I stop myself. But I just won't feel full. I thought to myself that it should be opposite. Like soup would kind of just go right through, while carbs would take a while to travel through the band. Is anybody else feeling the same way? Or is there anybody that might possibly be able to explain to me whats going on? Also.... I get hungry really quick after eating. Maybe like 1 hr and 30 minutes later... Is that normal? Thanks for your help Kayla
  8. I was just wondering what everybody was doing for their exercises besides just walking. I'm just clueless about what I should be doing. I do my walking, but what else would be helpful. If I do some sit ups, then I think, am I doing enough or am I doing too many...
  9. The only walking I did was to the bathroom and back. I was in so much pain. I was out for a week...so, I didn't do a whole lot. And if you do too much walking, your body with definitely tell you.
  10. The doctors should have given you all this information. You need to take Calcium and a multi-vitamin. The amount of grams of Protein to be consumed from my doctor was 60 a day. So, for a protein shake, you would need to take about 3 8 oz. or whatever it says on the label. Sorry, but I'm not really sure of what the best kinds are, I don't really like any of them.
  11. Good luck and congrats!!! Get ready for the beginning of a new life!
  12. Banded 3/9 So far I'm down about 20 pounds since surgery. Don't know what I was at my highest. Had my first fill yesterday, and stomach feels sore...just a lot of gas/gas cramps. And on top of that, I have PMS cramps too... lol
  13. I went through the same thing before I got my first fill yesterday. I really didn't think much of it, but I guess I'm not to only one! YAY!
  14. I was trying to think of a way to describe it, but your description of it is perfect. The only way i can get rid of the pain however is laying down...gas x did nothing for me a week after surgery though....its a very uncomfortable feeling...
  15. I actually just had my first fill on Wednesday. And I was surprised when I saw the size of the needle vs. the pain I felt. I was actually laughing when she put it in. Now, I'm one of those panzies where a paper cut sends me home from work...lol. My Dr. told me that I was going to feel bubbles and that was WEIRD!!!! I think she like sucked the air out before putting the stuff in or maybe it was the opposite...I don't know. But anyways....the pain is definately not as bad as you will think it will. Just a little sting... My first fill they gave me 6cc.'s on Wednesday. It wasn't too bad, just a lot of gas yesteryday....lol Good luck
